Pani Puri, Garlic Naan, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Aloo Samosa
    Michelle H.

I really liked Biryani Pot Bar & Indian Grill! The interior of the restaurant was pretty simple and casual, but I did not mind. The servers were fairly attentive as well. My friend and I ordered the Pani Puri, Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan, and Aloo Samosa. My first time trying Pani Puri was actually here and it was life changing. It was super refreshing to eat and now I try to get it anytime I am at an Indian restaurant! The Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan, and Aloo Samosa were also pretty typical but also good. I would say that this is a solid place for Indian food!

Finally tried it and glad we did! Medium spice was just right and the garlic naan was especially garlicky which I love! Our waitress made good recommendations as we liked both entrees and it was plenty for lunch the next day! Very cozy quiet space that is convenient with parking!

We ate here for dinner while staying at the nearby Great Wolf Lodge, and easily one of the most memorable nights of our family's lives. The wait staff was so welcoming and ensured we had everything we needed right away. They made us feel at home and happily answered all our random questions about the food, drinks and other options on the menu. We ordered the noodle dish for the kids, which was very flavorful, and not spicy at all. The kids ate it up immediately when it arrived, it was so delicious. As an appetizer, they recommended the Dosas, which was also super delicious and enjoyed by both parents and kids. My spouse and I also got a Biryani and a Chicken Tikka Masala for our entrees, and were super impressed and happy with everything. The dining area had a mix of booth, private and table seating, it was very welcoming and enjoyable. We were so impressed with our meal and experience, we opted to also get dessert, some mango popsicles and a mango cake. The waiter was so nice to the kids, he even gave them a sample of the mango smoothie/pudding. We were so full in both our bellies and hearts. This place gets my highest recommendations. I would give 6 stars if I could.

Still loving coming back to this place after all this time. Tonight we had the onion samosa and garlic naan for apps. I also recommend the Gobi Manchurian spicy if you like it hot. I usually go for the goat biryani and I will again but I wanted to try something different so I went for the lamb chops. A bit pricey for the serving size but man were they yummy. Nobody ever finishes everything at our table so I did not leave hungry. Until next time.

The spinach/paalak paneer was shocking good! I was expecting the house special mutton to trump the spinach! The house special mutton curry (forgot which one) was a bit oily and salty but with the rice and yogurt it balances out. Roti was nice pan fried well. Good dinner to end the night in North Carolina! Saturday was extremely crowded but we still got seated within 10 mins. Good on them! Keep up the work

Food was amazing. Service was top tier and loved the vibe of the restaurant. We come back and try more things from their menu.

We were immediately greeted by smiles and had our choice of seating being the first ones in on a Thursday. I previously visited this establishment when they were under the name The Peppers. All of the decor and furnishings had been refurbished and looked new and clean. They even have a bakery stocked with lots of Indian desserts and pastries. We ordered our food and it did not take long to come out. The entree was in a silver dish. I initially thought the portion was really small. When I plated my rice and poured the chicken on top, there was more for at least 2 more servings. The silver dish kept the masala heat hot the entire time we were there. A+ I ordered the chatpat as an appetizer, not really knowing what to expect. It was fried corn with peanuts. I will only say try it for yourself, I didn't like it. The manager, Ayan, was super friendly. He kept checking on us to make sure we were enjoying our food and checking to see if we needed anything. I also ordered the Mango Lasse, it was fresh and delicious. When we were ready to pay our bill. Ayan came and boxed up our left overs for us. This was a really nice gesture. I will surely be going back to try other options on the menu.

Great colorful decor and a pretty outside patio area too. Ample parking which is also always key for me. The owner frequented our table after to make sure everything' was good and we enjoyed it, always love that. Means they genuinely love their place. The place was busy after we got there and had a lot of take out going . We went with a few different dishes. They have plenty of choices for vegetarian and meat eaters. Also have a full bar, beer, wine and cocktails. The vegetable Manchurian was nice and hot in temperature. Nice spice level too. Lots of veggies in the wonderful sauce. Yum. I had the chicken vindaloo which is my go to . Extra hot and served with basmati rice this had a great spicy sauce and plenty of chicken and potatoes in it. Definitely could share it or have another meal . The garlic naan was really good and fluffy and came straight from the tandoor hot. Also had the chicken tikka masala on the table. Mild spice level and good amount of spice and I love the color of everything. Food took awhile to come out but it's worth it. The owner also sent us over a plate of a spongy chick peas flour savory cake off the menu . Super nice ! Fluffy spicy cake . Delicious and so nice of him! I've had this at home before but this was a nice version of it. Had a great dinner here. Always nice to discover a new Indian away from home. They seem to have the business down pat.

The…read morerestaurant itself had a nice atmosphere and the service was decent, but the food did not fully live up to expectations. The Gobi Manchurian was cooked far too crispy to the point where it felt hard and overfried instead of having that perfect balance of crunch and softness inside. The Malai Kofta was another disappointment because the kofta itself had a stretchy texture and tasted like it may not have been freshly made, though I will say the curry surrounding it was actually very flavorful, creamy, and enjoyable with good spice balance. Unfortunately, the naan was extremely dry and lacked the soft, buttery texture you would normally expect from fresh naan at an Indian restaurant. The Paneer Biryani also had an overwhelmingly strong masala flavor that completely dominated the dish and made it difficult to enjoy the other flavors or the paneer itself. Overall, there were a few good elements here and there, especially some of the curry flavors, but the food quality and textures across multiple dishes made the experience feel inconsistent.

Service was good and they were very polite. There was something about this place that just didn't sit right. Not sure what it was. We all ordered dosas with different fillings. A south Indian staple. Crispy thing pancake type but paper thin stuffed with usually potatoes but here they had so many different things to pick from, eggs, cheese, chicken tikka, etc . I had a masala dosa which was traditional spicy potato filling served with chutneys and Dahl. Others on the table had the chicken tikka masala and the chicken keema which is ground chicken . They were all tasty. The Dahl dipping sauce was good. The chutneys also tasty. The dosa itself was very oily and didn't stay crispy like others I've had before. This was kinda disappointing and I didn't end up eating most of it because it was soggy. The filling was also nice and spicy. We all kinda felt that way about the dosas. Also had a plain naan, which was kinda flat not puffy and crispy, which makes me believe they don't have a tandoor to make naan like most places do. Shame really . We also tried the medu vada, served with Dahl to dip into also these are fried dough but spiced . They were ok. Nothing spectacular. Anyway they have a pretty extensive menu and seem to have a good take out business . Probably not a return here for me though.

But it is a fairly chill atmosphere inside. We got the Gobi 65, Chicken 65 Boneless Biryani, Garlic Naan, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Mango Lassi. The Gobi 65 at mild spice still had a slight kick to it, but it was very flavorful! I really enjoyed it. The Chicken Tikka Masala tasted very buttery and not as spicy as I wanted it to be (asked for medium spice), so it makes me wonder if they accidentally gave me the wrong dish... like Butter Chicken? Otherwise, it was alright. Lots of bell peppers inside the dish and the chicken was cut into small pieces. The Garlic Naan was super garlicky which I loved and tasted great being dipped in the Chicken Tikka Masala. For the Mango Lassi, it came pre-packaged in this small bottle. It tasted fine, but not as sweet as I wanted it to be. My friend liked the Chicken 65 Boneless Biryani, which came in a massive bowl. Overall, I enjoyed the food here. Although I kind of want to get the Chicken Tikka Masala again and see if it tastes less buttery and more spicy next time. I would come back to try the other items on the menu!
