    Steak au poivre & frites

We were excited to try this place and we were not disappointed! All the food was fabulous and the entire staff were very friendly and attentive, including the owner. We tried the Boursin stuffed chicken, steak and fries, and the crème brûlée and chocolate custard for dessert. It was all so good that I really can't choose a favorite but the crème brûlée here was the best that I've had in years. The quality of the food and portion sizes makes the prices pretty reasonable. I would definitely recommend coming in spring or summer, the patio and tables next to the open wall are great. I can't wait to visit again!

What a great addition to the Littleton dining scene! I was super impressed with their happy hour menu (4-6 pm). Great deals on a wide variety of drinks and bites! It's a chic space with extensive bar, indoor and patio dining. They also have a semi-private space for special wine pairing dinners. Clearly lots of attention to the details The owners and our server were super welcoming. I learned the menu is inspired by the recipes of one of the owner's French grandmother. Our group really enjoyed radish carpaccio, bistro burger, scallop provencal and salmon. All of the entrees were generously portioned. Leftovers-yum!

    A.... "grilled cheese"?

I rarely write updates for reviews. I rarely find that my restaurant experiences are so different from my original reviews to warrant an update, but today was different. It was also very unfortunate that we brought friends, after talking about how great the restaurant was. We arrived at 12:45 for brunch, and we didn't end up leaving until 2:30.when I say that service was slow, that would be an understatement. We seriously thought we'd been completely forgotten in a mostly empty restaurant. It took FOREVER to get the drinks we ordered and even longer for anyone to come back and take our order. Those things I can forgive, after all we were enjoying chatting with friends. But then my food came out. I ordered the gruyere grilled cheddar with soup... And what came out was neither gruyere or grilled. I was genuinely flabbergasted. The underside of this brilliantly white "grilled sandwich" was soggy (had never experienced heat in its short life) and the top felt like it had just sat under the heat lamp for the 45 minutes it took us to get food. The cheese was... Orange. So definitely not gruyere. The waitress brought it out as if she hadn't even noticed, and when we mentioned something later, she seemed as shocked as us. Like what? Don't you even look at the food? My soup was... Fine. It ended up being my entire meal because the sandwich was inedible. The waitress offer to have something made, but obviously given the crazy amount of time we'd already spent there, I told her no. She brought out a dessert we didn't order and (I think) comped my meal (I didn't see the bill). The dessert was fine. We only had a few bites. I'll try it again on another day... But this was nuts. That sandwich was the craziest thing I've ever received as "food" in a restaurant.

My friend and I were excited to try a new place in Littleton and decided on Bistro 36. Ok, I decided on Bistro 36 and my friend said yes. We were welcomed upon entering and chose to sit on the patio since it was so nice. Because it recently opened, you can tell there's still kinks to iron out, but I don't mind helping along the way. Our server greeted us and told us what beers were on tap when we asked. We ordered our drinks and perused the menu. My friend ordered the steak frites and I ordered the chicken mushroom fricasśee. My meal was absolutely amazing. My friend's however was cooked at well done when he ordered medium rare. When we brought it up to our server, she apologized profusely and offered to get another steak for my friend. He declined the new steak as he was hungry. The MOD came out and apologized asking my friend if he was sure that he didn't want another steak cooked or anything else on the menu. When my friend declined, the MOD offered to buy him another beer to which my friend accepted. All in all, the staff is very customer oriented and tries to find resolutions to customer difficulties. You can always easily tweak cooking in the kitchen, but it is a good team that makes

During my June, 2024 vacation to Colorado, my friend, Felixx, invited Alyssa and me to meet up with…read morehim for after dinner drinks at the Lazy Greyhound on Saturday, the 22nd. Wow, I didn't expect to be blown away by a bar! The Lazy Greyhound is not your typical watering hole - the establishment is a chic speakeasy-style cocktail lounge inspired by the classic British gentlemen's clubs of the 18th and 19th centuries. Nestled within downtown Littleton on Main Street, the location is a hidden gem amidst numerous breweries. After easily finding free street parking nearby, we arrived shortly before 8:30 PM. Entry was like stepping into a different world through an unassuming exterior - inside, the dimly lit room's timeless elegance with Chesterfield leather sofas was softly illuminated by the three stained glass pieces above the bar, one of which depicts the venue's namesake. The tasteful décor adds a touch of class and sophistication to the intimate ambiance and handsome atmosphere. After we were granted to enter past the red velvet rope at the front door, we grabbed a seat at one of the Chesterfields. The comfortable lounge seating made for a cozy spot for relaxed socializing and the music volume was perfectly pleasant for personal conversations. The setting was casual, but refined, with vintage touches. My kind of place, for sure. To complement the stylish environment, The Lazy Greyhound offers an extensive menu featuring a unique blend of timeless classic cocktails, "OLD DOGS/TRIED & TRUE CLASSICS," and creatively crafted modern drinks, "NEW TRICKS/SEASONAL CREATIONS," as well as beer, wine and "SMALL BITES/SHAREABLE SNACKS." Remarkable service also adds to the delightful experience. Our server, Zach/Zack/Zac (sp?), was warm, friendly and genuinely engaging - he took the time to guide us through the impressive menu and was eager to offer beverage suggestions based on our preferences. I was looking for something with an egg white foamy topping, so he suggested the AMARETTO SOUR, IMPROVED ($15) which was velvety and the signature almond sweetness was not overpowering. Alyssa went with the ALWAYS ON CALL ($15), a deliciously creamy coffee-forward mixed drink. We also ordered the PINK SQUIRREL which Zach/Zack/Zac comped for us due to the long wait. The retro, indulgent mixed drink tickled us pink with its hue and creamy, sweet and nutty flavour. Serving the PINK SQUIRREL on the house to us reflected The Lazy Greyhound's commitment to customer care and satisfaction. Felixx ordered the yummy MEAT & CHEESE BOARD which was served with thoughtful presentation. True story: I super suck with electronics and am practically blind without my eyeglasses, so I accidentally undertipped Zach/Zack/Zac while using the handheld payment system. When I saw the receipt back at Alyssa's house, I was horrified to see that I hadn't tipped him what he deserved. I returned to The Lazy Greyhound on the 24th just before 11 PM. Even though they were closed and the doors were locked, I knocked until someone answered so I could personally give cash to Zach/Zack/Zac to make up for my mistake. He was very gracious and thankful. The Lazy Greyhound immediately earned its spot as a favourite bar of mine through their intimate, speakeasy-style atmosphere combined with their innovative concoctions and welcoming service. They stand out as a premier destination for a high-quality, relaxing and memorable evening.

Each season they rotate their specials and their spring drinks are in! I actually prefer their last couple specials compared to this time around but they're still good! We ordered the equinox, master of the house and old fashioned. The old fashioned is pretty boozy but an easy one to drink, it's your basic old fashion but tasty Master of the House sounded interesting, but I guess I'm not really a fan of spicy drinks (even though I love spicy foods). I ended finishing it but my friends enjoyed it! The equinox is a light and refreshing drink, which could benefit from a little more lemon (or the lemon juice was on the lighter side that day). Overall it's a spot we frequent when visiting our best friends in Littleton. We love the quaint and Victorian atmosphere and he staff has always treated us well.

August 26th was their last day to operate at the location of 8130 S University, Unit 110; they are moving to a new location: 311 E County Line, #20; this is the old driver's license place. It's my understanding that they will resume their normal operation at the new place in mid-September.*** As an avid wine drinker, I had to fathom to understand why it had taken this long to come to this winery even though they opened their doors almost 15 years ago. I had passed this quiet shopping center numerous times in the past and although the actual store is not necessarily super visible from the street, the sign (winery) at the entry to the shopping center had caught the kitty corner of my eye every time I drove on University. Whatever the excuse I can thing of, I finally made it here as if to scratch one item off of my bucket list. I bought a deal from Groupon (two-hour wine tasting with award-winning wines for two with one take-home bottle deal) at the price of $41.60) months ago. I simply couldn't ignore such a great deal. Without further ado, let me rate my yesterday's tasting experience. Selection of wines: First off, this place carries world sourced/Colorado made wines. They, of course, have white, red and dessert ones. Grape types are Pinot Noir, Merlot, Zinfandel, Cab Sauvignon, Tempranillos, Malbec, Carmenere, Chianti, Barolo, Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Pinotage, Barbera for reds and Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Grigio, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Liebfraumilch, Viognier for whites (I'm pretty sure I have left off a few.) This is quite extensive. Because of this, you'll be guaranteed to find something that will resonate with your likings/palate. Quality of wines: I had no expectations before I had arrived. All I was looking for was a quality time with my friend over a glass of wine. But once I started a flight of my choices, I had a hard time picking which one was better between the first and the second one or the third one and the fourth (and so on) and what I liked the most because they all tasted amazing. I know some say that Colorado made wines are not at par with wines from other states/regions but if you still think that Colorado's wine making level is still pretty low, you should definitely check this place out. Host: Melissa (?) was simply amazing. She was hospitable and attentive to our needs. She tirelessly walked around the floor with several bottles of wines in her arms/hands and kept pouring for us and other guests. She was also excellent at making great suggestions. And whenever she mentioned her favorites and we tried them out, we ended up liking them. Like I mentioned earlier in this review, the place was in the transition of moving. Melissa asked us to pardon any/all mess that we might notice. She also said that certain things had already been boxed up for the move so the only thing she could offer for us to munch were black sesame crackers (but this place does have charcuterie board.) This was totally understandable. Website: Check it out for sure. They offer wine club membership (gold club is $50, silver club is $45 and bronze club is 35); they let you make your own wine (I wonder how this is done; I'm curious); they let you make your custom wine labels (you can commemorate a special occasion such as birthday, wedding anniversary etc.); they let you rent the winery for seminars, events etc. Regular wine tastings: $15 per person for 6 tastes or $25 per person for 1 hour tasting My friend and I left the place (after two hours of tasting) being impressed. I cannot wait until they reopen at their new location. I'm pretty sure it'll be a more superior experience as they'll have everything: the ambience, the food but most of all, the award-winning wines. ***I decided on Chilean Cab-Malbec-Carmenere as my take-home bottle after the tasting***

The unquestionable star of the show was the barchetta- it was a big piece of their crust, stuffed with ricotta cheese, spinach, mozzarella, and garlic. The Italian margarita also had a strong rosemary flavor that was interesting and different with the sweetness of the margarita flavors. The martini was excellent too. The montepulciano wine was a bit dry but totally drinkable. The saporita pizza didn't come with cheese, which we thought was just... standard on pizza? If the sauce and the crust weren't so stellar, it would have been an issue, as it was it was fine but worth noting. It looks like we could have added cheese had we asked. Its overall chicness in a spacious lounge-style room immediately cooled me down once I arrived (on the day I visited after work, the temperature outside was soaring in upper 80's.) The time was around 4:45pm. If I am not mistaken, their happy hour is 3-5pm. I thought I was in the middle of the HH rush but there were still plenty of seatings available and yet the place was nowhere near empty. And yet, I found just the right spot so I would be away from all the chatters emitting from the people mainly sat at the bar. The selections for wine (red and white) as well as the tap beers are quite the variety. During the HH time, the drinks are only $5 for beer on tap, well mules, wells spirits and any wine on tap. For a chic/elegant/upscale place such as this place, this pricing offer is extremely generous. I simply couldn't think of anything other than refreshing cold white wine so after getting a little suggestion from my wonderful waiter, I went with the Angeline Sauvignon Blanc (the regular price is $12 so I saved $7.) As much as I am a wine person, I don't go by the rigid rules. White win should generally be served between 45°F and 55°F (7°C to 13°C) and yet at home I chill my (white) wine in the freezer for a bit so it will be super cold. This is a must for me. And to my surprise, when they served me the Sauvignon Blanc it was pretty close to the super chill temperature I am used to. As if they read my mind, I was quite surprised and happy with the cold crisp white wine. It was a quick stop to have a little "after work" cocktail on the way home so I didn't get any food and yet that crisp chilled white wine I was served instantaneously made me a big fan of this cocktail lounge. When I asked my waiter when the place opened. He said it opened in 2019. I simply couldn't believe it. If it's been around for this long but the fact that I recently heard about it stunned me. And if I am not mistaken, the waiter said that another location is about to open in a different area in the Denver metro. It's nice to know that this business is thriving. Good for them.
