Our party of five was looking for a pleasant outdoor venue to enjoy a leisurely lunch, and based on the many positive reviews, Café Terracotta fit the bill. We made a reservation and were seated promptly at a large outdoor table offering both sunny and shaded spots. The setting is lovely, a nicely restored historic building with a Victorian vibe in downtown Littleton. We ordered: * Roasted Brussels Sprouts ($10) - sopressata, shaved parmesan, oregano-infused white balsamic * Chicken Salad Sandwich ($17) - toasted whole wheat, grilled chicken, dried cranberries, tomato, apple, walnut * Short Rib Grilled Cheese ($20) - beef short rib, white cheddar, tomato, horseradish sauce, arugula, caramelized onion, sourdough * (2) Black Forbidden Rice Salmon Bowls ($25) - cabbage slaw, cilantro, avocado, pickled red onion, cilantro vinaigrette Plus three cocktails: two Bees Knees and one Manhattan. Service was excellent and the food was very well executed. The shared Brussels sprouts were a hit. The salmon bowls were flavorful and nicely prepared, as was the chicken salad sandwich. The fries were hot, crispy, and tasty. However, the standout was the Short Rib Grilled Cheese. Absolutely fantastic, and definitely what I'll be ordering next time. Came here for a bday brunch and the food did not disappoint! I had the barbacoa Benedict and it's one of the best Benedicts I've had in a while! The barbacoa was tender and juicy while the hollandaise was creamy and had the perfect saltiness, I do wish they added a bit more since one piece had more than the other. The potatoes were great, they were crispy and salty! We also had cocktails and they were great! Cheap for brunch and pretty boozy. They also have a pretty basic beer selection but I highly recommend their cocktails. Service was just mediocre, it wasn't a busy day but it felt like our server didn't want to be there. The bread is thick cut and crunchy, the chicken salad is the perfect balance of ingredients to sauce and the arugula makes for a peppery finish. Add a side of house made chips on the side and you've got yourself the perfect lunch. You can make a reservation online; service is great and welcoming, and prices are decent. There was always someone checking in on us, refilling drinks, and clearing away dirty plates between courses. I had the crispy artichoke, short rib, and carrot cake along with a glass of wine. Just wow... I was transported to a different world. (It was one of those days and a random Yelp review sounded delicious... ) Where do I start? The Food! We started with a crispy artichoke/goat cheese appetizer and decided to share the short rib grilled cheese and a Mediterranean salad. First of all, all of the reviews of the short rib grilled cheese are spot on. It's over the top good. (My husband ate half of my half and he's not a short rib guy, Im the carnivore in the family) Im actually craving the artichoke appetizer as Im writing this. Then the staff recommended the key lime trifle. Mind blown. The Service was casual, very friendly, and welcoming. We sat outside and were comfortable despite it being a very hot day. I ordered the lamb and my wife had the short rib. Both were cooked well, served hot, but the risotto and the lamb were a total salt lick. Impeccable. The floor manager served us - his name is Jackson - and his sense of humor just added more perfection to the evening. I met a friend here for lunch this summer. She recommended it, and I was a little early so went in and had a cup of coffee at the counter. The guy waiting on me was so friendly. When I asked about the menu, about the barbacoa, he gave me a taste. Later, when my friend arrived, we sat out on the front porch. I ordered huevos rancheros with barbacoa and she had a salad. My meal was very good but so large it could have fed at least two people. My friend's salad looked delicious (as did so many things on the menu.) I'm looking forward to coming back. I highly recommend the Falafel, Brussels Sprout Caesar Salad, Scallops, & Carrot Cake. Our server Monica and Chef Miles took fabulous care of us - our dinner was fantastic, and service was lovely & attentive all around. The space was intimate & warm - reservations highly recommended. We started the meal with two mocktails - both were great. The House mocktail was made with seedlip botanic infusion, honey syrup, lime, and hibiscus ginger. The Falafel was made with celery root hummus, grilled pita, compressed cucumber, tzatziki, & aleppo oil. The Falafel blew us away and we can see why it's a favorite at Care Terracotta. The perfectly golden-brown falafel was crisp on the outside & soft inside, bursting with savory chickpea flavor. The hummus & tzatziki added a creamy balance to the dish while the cucumber added a fabulous snap & zing of briny flavor. The Brussel Sprout Caesar Salad was made with shredded brussels & romaine, grated parmesan, crispy brussels leaves, dried cranberries, & Caesar dressing. This salad had a fantastic mix of textures (and the flavors were equally exciting) - I loved the the crispiness of the Brussels sprouts against the sweet chew of the dried cranberries. The Burrata was made with grilled sourdough, frisee, & balsamic tomato jam. The burrata was milky & smooth on the crisp, chewy bread. The Scallops were perfectly cooked & served with braised cannellini beans, house-smoked bacon, swiss chard, & parsley. The scallops were tender and had good bounce with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The bacon added a hint of smokey sweetness to each bite. The Parisian Gnocchi was made with Italian sausage, Tuscan kale, lemon zest, & grated parmesan. This dish was rich & indulgent. The gnocchi were velvety & the sausage added a savory flavor with a hint of spice. The parmesan added a sharp salty & nutty flavor. The 10oz New York Strip was served with crispy beef tallow potatoes, buttered haricot verts, and cognac & peppercorn steak sauce. This was a nice robust piece of meat. For dessert, Carrot Cake (& this is the best carrot cake I've had in Colorado!). The sweetness & warm spices of the cake blended perfectly with the cool cream cheese frosting. Visited Cafe Terracotta recently for the first time. It's a super cute location in downtown Littleton. I loved the inside and outside seating options. You feel like you're in Europe when you sit outside. It has a beautiful garden feel! Food was great. Things were seasoned well and tasty. I can't give it a 5/5 in terms of food because I've had better dishes, but it's definitely a solid 4/5. In terms of service, our waiter was a little quirky and tried to guess our order. After multiple visits, a few for brunch, and another few for dinner) over the last few years, I can up this to 5 stars - the food is consistently delicious and well prepared. The service is pretty consistently good - though it sometimes feels a little slow, it's fast enough to let you meet the 2-hour street parking time limit, even with appetizers and dessert. And having their own parking lot, however small, is a plus for any popular Colorado neighborhood. Most recently, my husband got the braised short rib, which was as tender and delicious as it was when I got it about 1.5yrs ago. Our friends got the arctic char (she loved it and I was ALMOST jealous) and the prime rib (he loved this as well and it had that typical smoked crust encasing it so it did not look like your typical prime rib). I was having difficulty deciding between a few dishes and our server (in so sorry I don't recall his name) immediately recommended the dirty risotto, which was FABULOUS and immediately took me to NOLA on the first bite. We started with the calamari, which frankly I thought was average, and the gouda butternut squash dip, which I thought was lovely. And finished with "chocolate pudding," which was only a mistake in that I should have stopped eating with about 3 bites left of my risotto. We will happily continue to return. read more

We like to take the Platt trail from Denver to this cute place on the weekends in the summer. The outdoor seating has been renovated into cute little private cabanas which makes it the best place to brunch as long as you don't get carried away and forget others may want to use your seats! I felt bad last visit because we did just that.... We were so comfortable that I feel we overstayed our welcome a touch when I saw all those waiting for a turn.
