***This review was written based on my tasting experienced that occurred on Saturday, August 26, 2023. August 26th was their last day to operate at the location of 8130 S University, Unit 110; they are moving to a new location: 311 E County Line, #20; this is the old driver's license place. It's my understanding that they will resume their normal operation at the new place in mid-September.*** As an avid wine drinker, I had to fathom to understand why it had taken this long to come to this winery even though they opened their doors almost 15 years ago. I had passed this quiet shopping center numerous times in the past and although the actual store is not necessarily super visible from the street, the sign (winery) at the entry to the shopping center had caught the kitty corner of my eye every time I drove on University. Whatever the excuse I can thing of, I finally made it here as if to scratch one item off of my bucket list. I bought a deal from Groupon (two-hour wine tasting with award-winning wines for two with one take-home bottle deal) at the price of $41.60) months ago. I simply couldn't ignore such a great deal. Without further ado, let me rate my yesterday's tasting experience. Selection of wines: First off, this place carries world sourced/Colorado made wines. They, of course, have white, red and dessert ones. Grape types are Pinot Noir, Merlot, Zinfandel, Cab Sauvignon, Tempranillos, Malbec, Carmenere, Chianti, Barolo, Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Pinotage, Barbera for reds and Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Grigio, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Liebfraumilch, Viognier for whites (I'm pretty sure I have left off a few.) This is quite extensive. Because of this, you'll be guaranteed to find something that will resonate with your likings/palate. Quality of wines: I had no expectations before I had arrived. All I was looking for was a quality time with my friend over a glass of wine. But once I started a flight of my choices, I had a hard time picking which one was better between the first and the second one or the third one and the fourth (and so on) and what I liked the most because they all tasted amazing. I know some say that Colorado made wines are not at par with wines from other states/regions but if you still think that Colorado's wine making level is still pretty low, you should definitely check this place out. Host: Melissa (?) was simply amazing. She was hospitable and attentive to our needs. She tirelessly walked around the floor with several bottles of wines in her arms/hands and kept pouring for us and other guests. She was also excellent at making great suggestions. And whenever she mentioned her favorites and we tried them out, we ended up liking them. Like I mentioned earlier in this review, the place was in the transition of moving. Melissa asked us to pardon any/all mess that we might notice. She also said that certain things had already been boxed up for the move so the only thing she could offer for us to munch were black sesame crackers (but this place does have charcuterie board.) This was totally understandable. Website: Check it out for sure. They offer wine club membership (gold club is $50, silver club is $45 and bronze club is 35); they let you make your own wine (I wonder how this is done; I'm curious); they let you make your custom wine labels (you can commemorate a special occasion such as birthday, wedding anniversary etc.); they let you rent the winery for seminars, events etc. Regular wine tastings: $15 per person for 6 tastes or $25 per person for 1 hour tasting My friend and I left the place (after two hours of tasting) being impressed. The owner treats everyone like they're a small town local she's known forever and her knowledge about the wine they make is fascinating to listen to. Hospitality galore. 10/10, amazing all around. Went with my girlfriend for a wine tasting. First of all, had to reschedule a few times because we had a family emergency out of town. Owner was super accommodating. We show up for our tasting a little late, still extremely friendly and didn't make a big deal out of it. Only a few other people in there at the time so didn't feel crowded and got to enjoy a peaceful date night. Ordered a charcuterie board (great cheeses and meats) since we rushed there and couldn't get food. I am not going to lie, I was skeptical coming into this establishment. The last place I went to that was an urban winery was a bit of a let down. This place though, unassuming as their location may seem, is this wee hidden gem. We stumbled upon this place on a Friday evening and made friends immediately with a group of people we were sat with (communal table settings to accommodate as many people as possible since it gets full)! Wow! I am shocked and appalled that I have not yet written a review for this fantastic little winery & tasting room. This place has, by far, the most extensive wine tasting list in all of Colorado. I have wine-o friends and non-wine drinker friends and they have all found something they love here. My girly drinkers love the Black Raspberry Merlot & Cranberry Chianti and my red-lovers fall for the heavier Spanish Tempranillo & Argentine Malbec. You can drop in for a tasting for $10 (as I recall) and try anything you like. Or, the wine tasting is free if you make a purchase. And, their wine club is more than reasonable at just $30/month which gets you two bottles and a free tasting & glass of vino when you show up to pick up your bottles, whoo hoo! They have monthly parties here called "Wine Down Wednesdays" where you can do some wine tasting and enjoy appetizers & live music for just $15. We've also been to their grape stomping for charity which was an absolute blast. If you get hungry while enjoying your vino, you can bring in your own snacks or you can order Itallian food from the restaurant next door and they will deliver! You can even make your own wine here! Or, create your own label for a bottle (this was super fun, made a really unique bday present). Seriously, I can't say enough fantastic things about this place. We bought a groupon for a two hour tasting for 4 and cashed it in last Friday night. It's family owned and everyone is really nice. Friday nights they have live music from 6-8. This can be great or not so great, depending on your objective. It's a small place so if you're there to chat, it can be distracting. But if you're there just to sip and relax, it's lovely. I wish I could rate it higher than 3 stars but honestly, the wines are only so so. It was pretty busy so we didn't receive a lot of guidance and there were times we had to wait with empty glasses because she was serving other customers. Typically this is minor, but when you're on the clock, it's a bit aggravating. As a part of the groupon, we received 2 bottles of wine. It wasn't explained in the beginning which bottles were a part of the deal and which ones were a $10 up charge. We meandered through the list, but I didn't find any wines that I loved. My favorite was the Stag's Leap Merlot ($10 up charge) and then it was like throwing darts at a board to pick our second bottle. Though we had a lot of fun - we brought in our own food and played cards- I left disappointed in the quality of wines. I wish we'd had a little more guidance on what to try but based on our sampling, I would not return. read more

Came here with a friend over a year ago to do the 2 hour wine tasting through Groupon. We thought the wine was fine but it really lacked in service. We found ourselves waiting and waiting to get a new pour of wine. Fast forward to today, we found the same Groupon and thought we'd give it another shot. This time we sat at the bar to see if we could get better service. The wine was much better than I remember it tasting last time! Some of the wines I tried were so smooth and absolutely delicious. The service was still lacking though. These poor 2 women seemed to be the only ones working on a Friday night in a completely packed place. I was completely surprised at how much fun this wine making and tasting experience was. You would never know from the outside how cute it is on the inside. When you walk in the smell of sweet wine and the coziness is quite inviting. We went with friends for his birthday and we all loved it! I was impressed with the taste and texture of the wine. They offer an exceptional selection of whites and reds. Some of our favorite whites were the Australian Chardonnay and the California Viognier. The Tempranillo was exquisite. I can't leave out the ports that I fell in love with. The Carmel Brûlée and the Black Forrest were my favorites. This is a family owned and run establishment and I felt like they did a good job serving us and making sure we had everything we needed. They brought around cheese and crackers and then chocolates to have with our ports. After 2 hours of tasting as much wine as we wanted they showed us how to make wine. You literally start with water and then they took us through the entire process of making the wine. I highly recommend this fun experience!! Great find! A friend invited us for drinks to this family-fun winery in Centennial and I am ever and glad we went. I'm not typically a wine drinker and my husband is, but this place had libations for both of us. The wait staff (mostly family members) knew their wines (for the most part) and could pick out which fermented grape juice you would prefer. They were spot on. Despite not growing any grapes themselves, they import them from around the world and make the wine right there. It's a neat operation. Their food selection is very limited but they do a great job of offering convenient take out menus, and make it comfortable to dine in. Terrific place to relax and listen to music. But they close really early...like at 8 on a Friday night. That's why they didn't get all of the stars. Not only did we get our money's worth of wine but all of them were delicious! They have such a huge selection of wine that everyone will find something they just absolutely love. If you like red wine then you absolutely must try the spanish Tempranillo, it's bold in flavor while being light and crisp. The staff here is all extremely friendly and all of the wines are made in house, you can definitely tell. The wines are low in sulfites as to avoid giving you the terrible wine hangover. As with the trend of some of the other reviews, we also recently tried this place in regards to a Groupon we had purchased. Water 2 Wine has a very unique and creative idea to making your own wine. They carry a ton of varietals and blends that is quite impressive to the small nature of the business (and the fact that they are located in Colorado). The concept of this franchise is also very unique - they receive essentially the juice from the grapes after the crush and harvest from the individual vineyards. The company itself contracts out with a bunch of growers and ensures that there will be enough product for all of their stores. The theory thereafter, is that wherever you go (to any of the Water 2 Wine shops), the wine you are tasting will be consistent and identical between all of the stores. This is to help keep their product line dependable and helps to carry a level of expectation. Now on to our actual experience. We arrived to our tasting appointment rather early (by 30 minutes) and were promptly greeted by Erin, the shop's general manager. Erin guided us through our tasting and explained their processes and procedures into procuring and producing each varietal of wine. With the groupon, we were allotted as many wines as we wished to sample in an hour. I could see how some people could get pretty tipsy, seeing as most of their wines carry the standard alcohol percentages of 12-18%. Water 2 Wine has a wine for everybody. While they are not producing wines on a more traditional method, their wines they poured for us were up to par. The vast variety of wines on their tasting list, also, almost ensures that they will have a wine for almost anybody. While I do recommend this place to beginners for sure, some of the more advanced oenophiles may have a hard time finding a wine that they will absolutely fall in love with that complements their advanced palates. Us included in the latter category - I will say that they did have some wines that we did enjoy drinking. With our groupon, we were allotted two bottles of wine to take home with us - we ended up choosing an Italian Barbera and a Rosso Fortissimo which both carried a medium-to-full body and some characteristics we enjoy in a wine. Water 2 Wine also has a monthly tasting party where they bring in food, music, and a tasting all for (I think she said) $20. In my opinion, that is a pretty good deal - in terms of being able to sample wine, have some good food and a good time with some friends. Oh! And if you are down to make your own wine, this place can help you do that as well (and it is actually super reasonable!). As long as they have the 'juice' in for the varietal or blend you want, they will help you craft your own wine. What's also cool for the artsy types out there is that you also can design and create your own label to put on your own wine that you made. This is the first place in Colorado that I have heard of that is allowing you to make your own wine in a shop outside of your own home (and for a decent price). We met up with friends who had a Groupon/Living Social deal for a wine tasting. I'd previously gone to a different location and tried some of their wines and thought they were ok, but not great. My opinion was pretty much the same here. Since I have a better idea of the types of wines I like now more so than 3 years ago, I hoped for a better experience. The location is in a strip mall nearby Luigi's Bent Noodle. This is helpful, since there isn't food available. You can bring in your own food or order from Luigi's and it's brought over and served inside Water2Wine. On a Friday night, they had live entertainment, which was ok. Not my favorite style of singing, but it added ambiance and the majority of the crowd there seemed to enjoy it. When we were first seated, our server was a little slow with coming around in a timely fashion, as we unlimited tastings. I was very judicious with my tastings and if I didn't like them, immediately dumped it, so I felt fine trying a number of them. However, I think the wine is mediocre. I didn't find anything outstanding. Even though I took home a free bottle of wine from the Groupon, we didn't think it was great. However, there is a huge variety of wines, so plenty to choose from and you may find things that work for you. read more

This slightly hidden gem in Centennial should be a priority for a visit. I have been there on multiple occasions. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the music on Friday nights is usually superior, and, of course, the wine is very good. The prices are reasonable, too. My only mild gripe is that they close a bit too early, even on Friday and Saturday evenings, though I suppose that has to do both with local health guidelines during the pandemic and the slowdown of traffic into the winery as the evening moves along. I've been here a few times, and we came in Saturday for a tasting. I came to learn that they recently changed owners, and are in the process of making new batches of everything. This is a small little wine making shop that has grapes crushed and then flown in for the wine to be made there. They offer everything from South America to South Africa and everywhere in between. Except for Antarctic wine. I have the hardest time finding that. Our tasting was handled by Josh, and he was very friendly, and very upfront about his limitations when they came up, which wasn't too often. And if he fell short on knowledge he got the answer we wanted quickly. He even went so far as to bring us each a little taste of candy that complimented a particular wine. We ran the full gambit of what was available, and had a very nice time. It's $15 per person for a sit-down tasting, they invite you to bring food with you so you can eat while you drink. You can also have your own wine made for you by the batch, and they offer a wine club as well. This is one of my favorite things about the new 'hood, I see myself spending some time here! read more

I am completely amateur when it comes to knowing anything about wine but that isn't a requirement to enjoy this establishment. Sampled ten different wines (bring a partner to make this happen) and enjoyed them all, falling deeply in love with Pomegranate Zinfandel and going home with a bottle.
