    Rib Eye Steak

Decided to take the family out for dinner while we were visiting the island and tried this place out. Walked in and it's a nice establishment. Was seated fairly quickly. Now what's important, the food! Wife got the linguini aragosta and she enjoyed it. I got the ribeye and I was not impressed, at all. Paying $55 for a steak with that low of quality and lack of taste was not something I'd expect. My mother also got the New York strip, which was $50, and she had the hardest time cutting up the steak. Lesson, dont get steak at this establishment. Or hopefully it was a one off thing, because I'd hate for another family spend over a $100 on two meals that they did not enjoy.

Had a great meal here the other night. We started with the calamari fritti, the caprese salad with grilled eggplant and the seared scallops. For our main dishes we got the Linguine Aragosta and the Bigoli Neri al Salmone (black linguine with smoked salmon). Both were really good but I especially enjoyed the Linguine Aragosta, with its flavorful, creamy sauce, lobster and shrimp. I would definitely go back to eat this again! Don't forget to order the bread. It's a fluffy foccaccia, perfect for sopping up all that pasta sauce. Overall, a very satisfying meal and great service.

Good food, Friendly service, Casual Dining Indoor and Outdoor Seating available. Nice place to have dinner when in Kahului. Everyone was friendly from the moment you arrive. Our waiter was entertaining and did a great job serving. The Ahi and Chicken Fettuccine was tasty! The tiramisu was delicious! Make sure you leave room for it.

Stopped by for quick dinner at this expensive upscale restaurant soo close to my hotel. Got the most Maui perfect seat watching the sun set on the mountain before me while I waited for my angel hair pasta. The restaurant is huge with different kinds of seating- you can choose to be at the bar, inside, or there is a more private little corner with paintings for a more romantic setting, and ofcourse outdoor which I chose - right opposite the setting mountain. They have plenty of vegetarian options . My pasta had only spinach, and for an additional $2, I got to add more spinach. The pasta came piping hot with spinach, cherry tomatoes, pine nuts. Cheese and Red chili flakes were given on the side. It was simple yet flavorful and very filling. Loved it. Service was excellent. Very polite and patient. Would definitely recommend the Bistro.

Bistro Casanova Dinner Date Night Signature Drinks $15 Each Local Mule Pau Vodka, Ginger Beer, Pineapple & Lime Absolutely love the Mule twist with the Pineapple & Lime. So refreshingly delicious. A Chelsie must order beverage. I also squeezed & dropped my lime garnish in my drink for that extra citrus kick. We both worked this morning so this drink is perfect for that pau hana kine drink. Tapas Sesame Seeds Crusted Seared Ahi Sashini, Avocado & Wasabi Aioli $24 I'm definitely a fan of this dish, he didn't want any so I practically licked the plate clean. It's beautifully displayed. Love dipping in the sauce. The crunchy sesame seeds on the outside was a fun change for texture. I also ate each bite with my favorite, green onions. Pasta Ravioli $20 Pasta Pillows Filled with Ricotta & Spinach with Butter & Sage Comes out to $4 a ravioli. But looks can be deceiving, even though this looks like a small dish. Those ravioli were massive & filling. I almost couldn't finish & halfway through was asking my fiancé if he could carry me out of the restaurant if I needed a lift. Lmao. Grigliate Surf & Turf with Ribeye Steak & Grilled Lobster Peppercorn Brandy Roasted Potatoes His dish looked delicious. I did sample & my favorite part of the asparagus is always the crispy tops. I also prefer my potato's to be a little more golden & crispy on the the outside with a warm gooey almost like mashed potatoes for the inside. The dipping sauce for the steak was delicious but looked a little sad. Maybe sprinkle a little extra pepper corn on top to garnish. I'm also not much of a lobster fan so that was all him. Plus he also ate the whole plate.

Stopped in by chance, left full and happy! After working all day we were decision fatigued and starving. Our server, Jessie was amazing, gave us bread, started an app and beverages, only then talked about dinner specials and things she enjoyed. She was amazing! We had focaccia bread, garlic/pine nut steamed spinach, Caesar salad, lamb skewers, scallops and clams over risotto and chicken parmigiana (this usually comes on a bed of potatoes but we subbed pasta), tiramisu and creme brulee. Everything was excellent! The space can be dim and a bit loud if the bar is full, which it was. This was also graduation weekend so many families were out celebrating and may have been busier and louder then normal. Worth a stop!

Food and drinks were 10/10 for me. We stopped by during happy hour on a Wednesday and it was a vibe! I rarely take pics of my meals, so I was surprised to find photos of these 3 entrees in my album. Service was okay. There were times we asked for things and it took our server a while to come back. We asked for napkins and she brought it out later after reminding her. We wanted refills on water and that also was a wait.

This place has amazing food and cocktails that truly elevate the dining experience! Home made pasta with gluten free options is a game-changer! This was my first time here and it was a happy hour which made it more enjoyable! The service was top-notch too! The only thing I should like see change is an update to the interior design.

This is a well-established Italian restaurant located in the Kahului Shopping Center. There is plenty of parking and reservations are recommended. We made reservations through Open Table. The vibe is kinda upscale for Maui. There is a large bar with seating at the entrance. The restaurant is large and has a private room in back. They also have outdoor seating. Focaccia bread with whipped herb butter is served. To start we split a Caesar salad. Then we ordered the Linguine Pescatore and Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese. Both pasta dishes were delicious! The portions were big. Our go-to favorite is the Paella for 2 so we'll probably order that the next time we come back.

I greatly enjoyed an Italian meal with my hubby in Maui indoors with great service and great meals. The ambience is just what you would expect for an Italian spot. Nice and cozy with great food and wine. The servers were also super friendly and always picked up our empty plates once we were done. Two thumbs up!!

We got the sashimi, calamari, caprese salad and black squid ink linguine with seafood. Every plate was delicious. Topped it off with crème brûlée which was addictive. Our server was a kind soul - JoLynn. She informed us the ownership just changed January 1. We loved it and will be back monthly.

The outdoor seating is refreshingly simple, but once you step inside, it's pure vibe. There's a thoughtful design touch to everything--from the mid-century glassware to the way each drink seems to have its own personality. They're not just slinging cocktails here; they're crafting an experience. I ordered the VOG CUTTER--Pisco, watermelon, lemon, absinthe, cubeb bitters--and it came topped with a pickled watermelon garnish. I'm usually not an absinthe fan, but this drink was perfectly balanced, bright and herbal with just enough edge. It landed squarely in the "perfect cocktail" category for me. My partner had the Velvet Elvis and was equally impressed. We both kept commenting on how varied and intentional the drinkware was--punch cups, tea glasses, you name it. It makes everything feel more special. The bartender was sharp, friendly, and clearly knew the menu inside and out--eager to help guide us through the options and talk about the thought behind each drink. At one point, a child wandered in by mistake (Esters is 21+ due to its bar zoning), and the bartender gently asked them to leave--but not before handing over a vanilla wafer as a parting gift. One of my favorite touches? The name. There's actually a thoughtful explanation printed right on the menu: "Esters are natural compounds that are created through chemical reactions during fermentation. Esters give a diverse range of aromas and flavors to rum." It's a subtle homage to the science of spirits--and it fits perfectly with the experience Esters delivers. If you're looking for a cocktail bar that hits on every level--drinks, vibe, service--Esters Fair Prospect is the move.

Our Ohana and family friends have been eating here for years. They serve Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. If you're looking for a place to have a small gathering or celebration, they do catering and had a small party near our table (we were told to be quiet during a prayer for that party which we respectfully did). Our family of 7 ordered a variety of food. My nephew is Vegan and there was a Veggie Stir Fry he ordered with Tofu. My Brother in Law who is on the pickier side and likes it "simple" got Beef Teriyaki with Macaroni Salad. And my mom and niece love their Filipino food so mom ordered a Tamarind Soup with Shrimp and Vegetables called Sinigang and my niece ordered a Peanut Sauce dish called Kare Kare. My dad, sister and I stick to our favorites. He got his usual Baby Back Ribs (which I didn't get to picture), my sister got Sautéed Mahi Mahi with Lemon Caper Sauce and I got my usual Local Favorites Combo that had the most tender and savory Beef Teriyaki and crispy Mahi Mahi with Tartar Sauce on a bed of Cabbage. The Molokai Sweet Potato is a must when you get a side but this time, I did crave some greens so I opted for a side salad with Papaya Dressing. Your Meal isn't complete without Dessert! And Filipino Ice Dessert I might add...Halo Halo (which literally translates to "mix mix"). Being the true Fil-American that I am, I don't like to "Mix Mix" because I prefer my Ube Ice Cream in tact lol. I explained this to my Brother in Law from the Mainland who also said this is the first Purple anything he's ever eaten haha! But this is a refreshing ice dessert to end the meal since it has fresh cantaloupe, avocado, coconut, banana, and jellies, and the ice is creamy with an evaporated and condensed milk mix. If you want to "mix mix" let your inner Filipino out! Our visiting family had a great time catching up and enjoyed our yummy meal together. The Filipino aunty servers are always top notch and serve your food with Aloha. We probably only waited 15 minutes or so for the food as well which is always appreciated especially when hungry.

The idea was to have a special dinner with an iconic sunset view with my wife for her birthday. What I got was rushed into a table that barely had room for 2 serving spaces and LITERALLY obstructed view of the entire ocean. Merriman's should be ashamed to even have a table in this space. We were not "inside" but 2 sides of the table abutted a support column that 100% obstructed any kind of plausible view of the ocean. We arrived on time, for a table reserved 60 day in advance but the seating we were given would have been barely acceptable for a walk in, take anything available option. The entire experience was absolutely anything but special, $330 and I have to sit in an awkward side angled position, not even across from my wife, with a view of 2 walls that I could have gotten in a strip mall fast casual restaurant? It's clear they don't care, and it is just another table to turn 3-4 times a day and rake in the $$. I absolutely advise anyone to steer clear, this is like ordering an amazing sunset birthday dinner and getting the TEMU version. The food was good, but server was not attentive and seemed overly busy and had zero interest in guiding our choices, instead was "here's the menu, let me know what you want". Total and utter disappointment from the minute we walked in until we left. In the moment they were extremely busy so it's not like there were other table options. On a special occasion I do expect I need to ask to not stare at a wall, for a place heralded for sunset views. Merriman's should be ashamed for even having a seat so awful and awkward. Do not risk your special occasion on a place that is overcrowded, overpriced and completely underwhelming in every single aspect!

I am looking at the menu and I realize that a lot of these cocktails are new, which is another bummer because I would have loved to try all of them (guava mojito, spicy lilikoi mezcalita and vana colada -- yes please!) The restaurant itself is so cute! There is definitely a rustic vibe to it. It could look like a treehouse because there's a big tree in the middle and string lights. It is an outdoor restaurant, and there is an extended outdoor section as well that has a little more secluded feel. There's a bar area, but it is a bit small.

Wandered around and decided on monkey pod. She told us 20 minutes sure enough, my phone buzzed 20 minutes later. We were seated at a table overlooking a spectacular but cloudy sunset. Smiles all around. The beautiful decor, the view and our professional, friendly server enhanced the joy of our evening. My fiancé had a mixed green salad with goat cheese, bacon bits , and house vinaigrette. Excellent. I had a fresh Ono fish sandwich with homemade kimchi on the side and an order of sweet potato fries. Started off with a beer from their rather extensive list. Oceanfront restaurants are notoriously expensive and not tasty. In this case, we had ambience, a view, excellent service and delicious food. We intend to return before we go home next week.

I guess everyone has a bad night now and then. Clearly our server was in that mode. Just sort of a dowered look on her face and no warmth or personal touch. The drop in food quality is the real problem. I had the grilled fish sandwich (last two times there) and was bummed at how over cooked it was. The time before I had to send it back because it was like a tennis shoe sole. I even asked that it not be over cooked when I first ordered. Yikes!!! Pizza sauce was very thick and tomato pasty (canned?) At least the crust was good. I'm a big fan of Merriman's, but this branch is not anything like the original Wailea restaurant. Somebody in management needs to wake up and get involved. Customers shouldn't be taken for granted. For now, go to Aloha Grill.
