    Bistro Casanova - side

Stopped by for quick dinner at this expensive upscale restaurant soo close to my hotel. Got the most Maui perfect seat watching the sun set on the mountain before me while I waited for my angel hair pasta. The restaurant is huge with different kinds of seating- you can choose to be at the bar, inside, or there is a more private little corner with paintings for a more romantic setting, and ofcourse outdoor which I chose - right opposite the setting mountain. They have plenty of vegetarian options . My pasta had only spinach, and for an additional $2, I got to add more spinach. The pasta came piping hot with spinach, cherry tomatoes, pine nuts. Cheese and Red chili flakes were given on the side. It was simple yet flavorful and very filling. Loved it. Service was excellent. Very polite and patient. Would definitely recommend the Bistro.

Bistro Casanova Dinner Date Night Signature Drinks $15 Each Local Mule Pau Vodka, Ginger Beer, Pineapple & Lime Absolutely love the Mule twist with the Pineapple & Lime. So refreshingly delicious. A Chelsie must order beverage. I also squeezed & dropped my lime garnish in my drink for that extra citrus kick. We both worked this morning so this drink is perfect for that pau hana kine drink. Tapas Sesame Seeds Crusted Seared Ahi Sashini, Avocado & Wasabi Aioli $24 I'm definitely a fan of this dish, he didn't want any so I practically licked the plate clean. It's beautifully displayed. Love dipping in the sauce. The crunchy sesame seeds on the outside was a fun change for texture. I also ate each bite with my favorite, green onions. Pasta Ravioli $20 Pasta Pillows Filled with Ricotta & Spinach with Butter & Sage Comes out to $4 a ravioli. But looks can be deceiving, even though this looks like a small dish. Those ravioli were massive & filling. I almost couldn't finish & halfway through was asking my fiancé if he could carry me out of the restaurant if I needed a lift. Lmao. Grigliate Surf & Turf with Ribeye Steak & Grilled Lobster Peppercorn Brandy Roasted Potatoes His dish looked delicious. I did sample & my favorite part of the asparagus is always the crispy tops. I also prefer my potato's to be a little more golden & crispy on the the outside with a warm gooey almost like mashed potatoes for the inside. The dipping sauce for the steak was delicious but looked a little sad. Maybe sprinkle a little extra pepper corn on top to garnish. I'm also not much of a lobster fan so that was all him. Plus he also ate the whole plate.

Stopped in by chance, left full and happy! After working all day we were decision fatigued and starving. Our server, Jessie was amazing, gave us bread, started an app and beverages, only then talked about dinner specials and things she enjoyed. She was amazing! We had focaccia bread, garlic/pine nut steamed spinach, Caesar salad, lamb skewers, scallops and clams over risotto and chicken parmigiana (this usually comes on a bed of potatoes but we subbed pasta), tiramisu and creme brulee. Everything was excellent! The space can be dim and a bit loud if the bar is full, which it was. This was also graduation weekend so many families were out celebrating and may have been busier and louder then normal. Worth a stop!

Food and drinks were 10/10 for me. We stopped by during happy hour on a Wednesday and it was a vibe! I rarely take pics of my meals, so I was surprised to find photos of these 3 entrees in my album. Service was okay. There were times we asked for things and it took our server a while to come back. We asked for napkins and she brought it out later after reminding her. We wanted refills on water and that also was a wait.

Brussels sprouts so charred they were disintegrating

Local here- we used to go for multiple special occasions. Only been twice since the new owners and won't be back. Gone are the carafes and most of the happy hour deals, gone are 90% of the bar selections, gone are portions big enough for a take-away box, and and gone is a chunk of the menu. Server told the table they have red and white wine- one person asked for a dry white and was told, "we're out." The other asked for red and was asked, "what grape?" ...grape? Took four tries to order other drinks as the selection was so sparse. Brussels were singed to a crisp (everyone at the table tasted and agreed!) and there wasn't a sprout on the plate, just a pile of burnt leaves remaining (see photo). $18 worth of burnt leaves. At the end we learned bill splitting is limited (ok fine, we will work it out) but as we were doing the math, the server was less than polite at letting us know how to be more prepared "next time." We were all shocked at the decreased portion sizes and there was a noticeable lack of flavor. Oh, and be prepared to pay for the bread...which comes with butter only (oil is now an up-charge ). Lastly, some of our group sat at the bar before our reservation and the fruit flies so were so, so bad- they literally had to keep their wine glass covered with a napkin. Backed up drain? Who knows.

This place has amazing food and cocktails that truly elevate the dining experience! Home made pasta with gluten free options is a game-changer! This was my first time here and it was a happy hour which made it more enjoyable! The service was top-notch too! The only thing I should like see change is an update to the interior design.

We got the sashimi, calamari, caprese salad and black squid ink linguine with seafood. Every plate was delicious. Topped it off with crème brûlée which was addictive. Our server was a kind soul - JoLynn. She informed us the ownership just changed January 1. We loved it and will be back monthly.

This is a well-established Italian restaurant located in the Kahului Shopping Center. There is plenty of parking and reservations are recommended. We made reservations through Open Table. The vibe is kinda upscale for Maui. There is a large bar with seating at the entrance. The restaurant is large and has a private room in back. They also have outdoor seating. Focaccia bread with whipped herb butter is served. To start we split a Caesar salad. Then we ordered the Linguine Pescatore and Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese. Both pasta dishes were delicious! The portions were big. Our go-to favorite is the Paella for 2 so we'll probably order that the next time we come back.

I greatly enjoyed an Italian meal with my hubby in Maui indoors with great service and great meals. The ambience is just what you would expect for an Italian spot. Nice and cozy with great food and wine. The servers were also super friendly and always picked up our empty plates once we were done. Two thumbs up!!

We've been coming here for years and I've always enjoyed my experiences here, but last night I had a dish that compelled me to write a review. The oxtail soup which is listed as a favorite is a dish I've been eyeing for a while, but it's usually been too warm for me to crave it. But last night was the night. I'm getting over a cold and it's been raining off and on for weeks. The bowl arrived at the table with a plate underneath - smart move because it takes some work to eat oxtail soup. Armed with my fork and spoon, I went at it. The first taste floored me. It was perfectly seasoned and I could taste the fresh ginger, the broth was a beautiful brown color, there was plenty of napa cabbage and it came with a dish of a scoop of glossy steamed rice and steamed carrots, zucchini and broccoli. Our waitress offered to bring over condiments so I went for the soy sauce - sprinkled on the rice and veggies, I noticed that the veggies might have had a little sesame oil flavor on them so that made me happy. A spoonful of rice dunked into the broth with some of the tender fall of the bone oxtail meat, and a little crunch of the napa cabbage and I was in absolute heaven. I tasted my husband's pork adobo and that was equally as delicious as always. But that soup - that's what really did it for me last night and stays with me today. I walked out of Tante's with a swollen and happy belly and a fresh, tiny piece of ginger stuck between my teeth...a treat for later.

The lady that waited on us was super nice and kept our drinks filled. I love that attention.

Yummmm is all I gotta say! P.S. the hotel wailea burger is really good as well and that patty is thick! It has an interesting flavor cause it's dry aged so if you are not a fan of that then don't get that as it's a flavor! But def worth it and filling! The staff were great and helpful in suggesting items and they are quick! Do order the drinks in advance if the place is packed and everyone goes ham on those drinks! Unfortunately, there were no oysters. It was actually a bit tough to find a place with oysters in Maui (shoutout to Fleetwood's). It was perfect because we ended up just wanting a light dinner, and this restaurant has tapas and small portions. Not a bang for your buck, by any means, though. I was a bit bummed because I wanted a specific appetizer (similar to a wagyu beef tataki), but they did not have it. Instead, I got the hamachi carpaccio, which was still good. I also ordered a spicy rainbow roll. You could tell that the fish was very fresh on top, but the roll itself was just decent. Not worth the $25 and it was also not spicy. I think my favorite food item was the karaage. It was crispy, tender and the sauce was the cherry on top. I am looking at the menu and I realize that a lot of these cocktails are new, which is another bummer because I would have loved to try all of them (guava mojito, spicy lilikoi mezcalita and vana colada -- yes please!) The restaurant itself is so cute! There is definitely a rustic vibe to it. It could look like a treehouse because there's a big tree in the middle and string lights. It is an outdoor restaurant, and there is an extended outdoor section as well that has a little more secluded feel. There's a bar area, but it is a bit small.
