Chicken cutlet with fresh mozzarella, arugula and roasted peppers

Anything you order at The Bistro House is delicious! A little gem in the middle of Hastings on Hudson. May not look like much, but worth the trip. And the owners are delightful.

Bistro House is a very tiny (four tables) restaurant and takeout establishment that absolutely amazed us with such delicious sandwiches! I had a fried chicken sandwich with bacon and avocado on a ciabatta roll. My husband had the same sandwich on a wrap, while my daughter had a sandwich of prosciutto and mozzarella with fig jam. They weren't just good; they were crave-worthy.

Incredible sandwiches! I'm always greated with a smile and some delicious food when I stop by the Bistro House! Today I tried the Classic Italian Combo. Delicious and generous portion of cold cuts and cheese. The calabrian chili and the oil and vinegar dressing balance out this sandwich and add a nice tang. Everything is so fresh. While you are there find out what Angelo and Anthony's mom has baked. Her desserts and pastries are the best! Check out their Bacon Egg and Cheese sandwich on homemade english muffins as well!

Such a cute little spot I really enjoyed the extensive menu. Will be back. Extra points for byob and affordability.

The centerpiece of this restaurant in my opinion is the beautiful horse shoe shaped bar in the middle of the restaurant. I typically enjoy a nice clean and clear bar so you can fall into the feeling of the restaurant and see what is happening all around. This bar had bottles of wines lining the bar, in my opinion I would remove the bottles and allow for a more open feel. Personally I felt that the bottles created a barrier between me and the bar tender. The outside tables are tables typically for 2 or 4 people with banquet seating and then chairs. Oh, my God How's this boy treating you? Very good wonderful started The service was attentive but not over bearing which created a relaxed feeling.. I was looking for a wine and cheese bar for a night our for myself. I wanted a place that I have not been to before and yelp directed me here Wines on Aug range from 15 and up for a glass which is not outrageous in price. They had a nice selection of wines and I stepped out of ny own comfort zone of a cab and tried the house Pinot Noir accompanied by the B6 board. Overall I was satisfied with the meat and cheese selection and baguette that was served with it had a nice oil on it. Presentation was well done with one exception in my mind, the breads ticks came in a package. Presentation factor went down with that. Take one of the small wife carafe used to serve the wine and present it in that. Overall I felt something was missing but could not put my finger on it. Overall this place has a great date night vibe.

From the door, we were kindly greeted and immediately sat. Evelyn, the manager, frequently came to check on us and our experience and truly made our night special. Our server Cole was attentive and made great recommendations. Let's get to the food...I know that's why you're here. We started with the escargot, duck wings and the bone marrow app special. It was my first time having escargot and I pity any other restaurant that may serve these to me moving forward. We were given extra bread just to make sure we could dip it in all of its garlicky, oily wonderfulness. The duck wings had a great Asian, sticky-wing type of flavor (another first for me) and the bone marrow just melted in your mouth. If you like the fatty part of the steak, say "yes" to the marrow. *chefs kiss* For entrees we had the chicken leg special, steak frite (you get a choice of cut) and the salmon. We were all just taking bites off of each other's plate all night. The gravy that came with the chicken special was perfect and paired amazingly with the crispy skin of the chicken. The steak; cooked PERFECTLY! (You see the pics!) & that salmon in the beurre blanc?! More perfection. Like the good children we are, we ate all our food and felt we deserved dessert. We ordered two apple tarts, which they outsource, and the crème brûlée. The apples were sweet and tender and I never have any bad words for crème brûlée . We also ended our evening with some cappuccinos and a healthy pour of amaro noninno; just devine. To top it all off, we noticed a DJ setting up towards the end of dinner service. What began as the dining area quickly turned into a dance floor. We had such a great time and can't wait to come back!

We had a noon reservation and there were only two or three other parties, so it was super easy to book and felt refreshingly unhurried. The staff was fantastic. They welcomed us warmly, even offering to take our jackets, which was a nice touch. The menu has a solid mix of breakfast staples like omelettes, pancakes, and eggs Benedict as well as lunch options like a burger, salads, and a turkey club. I went with the eggs Benedict and they were perfect. The potato hash came in a fun triangular shape; very crispy... almost too crispy, to the point I wondered if it was intentional, but still tasty. My partner got the pancakes and wow, huge. And delicious. Overall, great service, great food, and a gorgeous atmosphere. Would definitely return!

The space is modern, warm, and understated. Everything we ordered was excellent. The panisse was golden and crisp on the outside, soft and creamy in the middle. Every plate felt carefully put together, with classic French techniques and just enough creativity to make each dish feel special. And then there was dessert. The profiterole was the perfect ending to the meal--a light, airy pastry filled with ice cream, covered in a crisp hazelnut shell, and finished with a smooth chocolate glaze. It had the perfect mix of crunch, creaminess, and rich chocolate, but somehow still felt light enough that you wanted every last bite.

It's a great space: simple and comfortable, lively yet not too loud. My one complaint is re nuts. Why so many dishes with them when so many people are allergic? Overall though we really liked it and will probably return.
