This place is a hidden Gem! It's a classic establishment that's been around for over 50 years. A good friend invited us for dinner here on a Tuesday night and it was a pretty full house by the time we finished dinner around 8pm. For entree we had the Fillet of Sole Francese, Chicken Francese, and Veal Piccata and all of our entrees were delicious, very abundant and the sauces were well made and decadent. Each entree came with a choice of salad or pasta. We also tried the plain cheese pizza it was crunchy and perfect amount of sauce and cheese. For dessert we tried the Italian lemon ice, rainbow Italian ice and the Amaretto cake, all delicious. This restaurant serves beer and wine as well. We'll definitely dine here again if we're in Mount Vernon again. 10 out of 10!

Excellent food and friendly staff, it is a no frills place but with the best Italian food in the area. Great home cooking just like Grandma used to make for Sunday dinner. Very large portions, you will leave very satisfied!

How could anyone give this place less than 5 Stars! Over 25 years of consistent high quality and exquisite tasting Italian food! Rigatoni a la Vodka sauce is superb here.

Great Dinner at Joe's SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO LAUREN... who made all the difference # service counts most!!

Such kind and attentive service! Stephanie was lovely. And the best meatballs I've had in decades. Maybe I can get the recipe.

There were a couple of steps up to the front entrance, so it's just a tiny bit tricky if you have a stroller or mobility issues. We came for dinner on a Friday night. Initially, it was quiet, but got packed and very lively by the time we left around 7:30. It did get a bit noisy as well. Reservations are definitely recommended. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and you can specify your preference when booking. To start, we shared the mozzarella e pomodoro. The burrata was nice and creamy, but the portion size was on the smaller side. I loved the insalada di pere. The pears and gorgonzola paired well together and the champagne vinaigrette gave it a pleasant sweetness. My family also enjoyed the calamaretti fritti. For my main, I had the risotto ai fungi porcini. It was a bit bland and dry. My husband was happy with the pork chops. The zuppa di pesce was a nice portion size with plenty of leftovers. They provide complimentary bread for the table. Service was excellent. Great for date night or a family meal.

The food was excellent, the bartender and kitchen staff were attentive, friendly, and on point all night, and the overall atmosphere was perfect for celebrating as a team. A special thank-you to Christian, the manager, who truly went above and beyond to make this a memorable and special first company holiday party for us. His professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine care made the entire event seamless and stress-free. Highly recommend Misto's for corporate events, celebrations, or any special occasion. The weather was great, so you could choose to sit inside or out; we chose indoors. Even though our waitress was busy, she was still attentive and friendly. We had sangria, which was really good, and the $$ Italian dishes we ordered hit the spot. The restaurant itself had a nice vibe, clean, nicely decorated, and had a good energy. The staff were welcoming and the bar area seemed pretty popular. Would definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

It's always interesting to return to a place with history, and thankfully, the current experience holds up. The restaurant was moderately busy, but everything flowed smoothly. No waits, and the staff struck a great balance, attentive when needed, but giving us space to settle in and enjoy the company. Parking is easy with a free lot in the back, plus additional street options. The space is open with warm wood accents that give it a comfortable, inviting feel. We sat in the main dining room and started with the Hot Antipasto Deluxe, a generous spread perfect for the table. It didn't stop there, as they also brought out salad for everyone before the mains, a classic, welcoming touch. I ordered the pappardelle with chicken in a vodka sauce with a dollop of ricotta, rich and satisfying. Others enjoyed dishes like Chicken Piccata and Chicken Parmigiana. Portions were more than enough, and by dessert, shared chocolate lava cake and tartufo, we were completely full. A relaxed, accommodating spot that works especially well for groups. Definitely a place to linger and enjoy.

The Mediterranean salad had no tomatoes or cucumbers which is pretty standard in a Mediterranean salad. No bread came on the side. Typical Italian restaurants will always provide a bread on the side. Well let me tell you...I'm glad I went in. This is a truly an authentic and fully stocked Italian deli. Once you walk in...the aroma of pecorino romano and parmigiano cheese just hits you and boy does it smell good! You have a great assortment of pasta, canned goods, jarred goods and packaged Italian delicacies. The deli has a very nice and large assortment of Italian and American cold-cuts and there is plenty to choose from (imported cheeses, mortadella and prosciutto) just to name a few. They have a nice steam table with an assortment of hot food and dishes to choose from. Too many to mention. They have fresh mozzarella (which they make in the back) salted and unsalted, freshly made Italian sausage (hot and sweet), scamorza (dried mozzarellas) and a wonderful selection of all kinds of olives. They also have a nice selection of breads to buy. Not to mention their Italian pastries, cakes and boxed panettones that they display nicely on their countertops. I decided to order a prosciutto, mozzarella and roasted pepper hero with a side of cucumber with tomato salad. And I ordered a small tray of lasagna and a couple of rice balls (arancini) and a dish of broccoli rabe to take home. This place is cozy, has a lot of Italian foods to choose from and the clerks behind the counter were all very polite and helpful. This is truly a great little gem for this area. Great Italian deli! I highly recommend them.......
