I can't say that eating here was a pleasant experience! We ordered pizza and wings didn't know it came with complementary side of gnats . They landed on the pizza and just sat there. We swatted them away and to no avail. Landed on the wings sat in the bread. We lost our appetite to say the least. I would say maybe give a chance in the Winter when the bugs are dormant. This wasn't my first time to Italian Oven. When traveling south from Boston thru NYC to points further south, staying in Westchester is a nice respite. But whether you're traveling through or live nearby, you need to go to this place. The location is great as it's out of town (and this is a plus, in my opinion), the dining room is vast with a great bar set up, open kitchen, lots of tables and a fun environment. But, more importantly, the food is amazing. Yes, their pizzas are cooked to perfection, with great tasting sauce, and crust that is crisp the way it should be. However, the highlight of the appetizer options is the chicken wings. These aren't standard chicken wings; these are cooked in the pizza oven, not oven baked. Totally changes the taste! I've had two different pasta options (Penne Vodka is my favorite) and others have had the Bolognese and loved it. The Orecchiette Sausage and Broccoli Rabe is also amazing. But, what really made this latest visit fantastic was our server, Andrew. He was friendly, attentive, a great guide when it came to suggestions of the menu, described the special cocktails accurately. He made 'eating out' into a wonderful experience. I did a DoorDash order from Italian oven and arrived very quickly. I had a salad and wings. The wings were Thai chili flavor and they're baked! Not fried. Sweet and savory with a smidge of heat. The salad was arugula, goat cheese, sliced almonds, and clementines. The salad seemed a little bit pricey for what it was and I was glad that I had the wings. If I were to order that salad again, I would definitely get some kind of protein on it. I ordered a bottle of Pellegrino not realizing it was a giant bottle and not one of the smaller ones. Cool space. Pizza was light & had good flavor but needed to be thicker in the center of crust to hold up the pizza. They have olive oil on the table too which is nice to dip the crust in. It was cool they had a vegan cheese option. MELANZANE PIZZA was our favorite but the crust was too thin in the center. The staff were nice and well versed in the menu. This place was a little pricy for the portion size and quality since the base price was high and was an additional cost to substitute or add. read more

I went in on a Tuesday evening around 7 for dinner. It wasn't busy but there was no one at the hostess stand. I had to approach a worker about being seated. It took about 10 mins for my server to approach my table. Let's say what went well: Decoration is cute, food portion size good, drink was drinking. Nice and strong. The food came very quickly. And the Salmon was cooked how I wanted it evrn without being asked of my preference. Now the not good. My table was wobbly. The bread I was given was hard. My order was the Salmon Oreganata. This dish comes with spinach and a white wine sauce. This dish needed soooo much more, but the description made it sound so good but execution was not done effectively. I requested fresh pepper which didn't not change anything, as even with the pepper it was still lacking. The salmon was not seasoned and tasted like it was eating fatty meat. The sauce was super tart which made the spinach tart. I added salt to it but it made no difference. I wound up taking it to go but then threw it away. I will not go back. 2 stars given for the drinks and the quick delivery of the food. read more

The overall vibe feels romantic and relaxed, helped by the soft, low music and a pleasant crowd that adds to the charm without being overwhelming. It took about five minutes before someone came to our table, but once service started, the staff was attentive and friendly. Our food arrived in roughly nine minutes, and it was absolutely worth the wait. The Alfredo sauce was incredibly creamy with great flavor, and although the grilled chicken leaned a bit more toward the "grilled" side, it still tasted very good. We finished the meal with their homemade tiramisu, which was a lovely way to end the night. The space itself is clean--the floors mostly so, the tables spotless, and the whole place smells fresh. Even the bathroom was clean, which is always appreciated. Overall, it's a cozy, romantic spot with good food, attentive staff, and a comfortable atmosphere. I'd definitely return. read more

I've been here a few times. I've been here for lunch and dinner. Each time I'd had one drink and a small pizza. The first few times I paid $30 for one drink and a pizza. The visit was pleasant, and that's why I went back and recommended other people to visit this spot as well. Last week, I went in for lunch. I ordered one drink and one pizza. My total was $52. I just went to another nearby establishment that has been in business much longer and their lunch deal (one drink, one pizza) was $14. I won't be going back to IO, because they obviously don't know the area they're catering to. There are plenty of other Italian places in this area to get a great lunch deal. read more

The service is also very good, whether dining in or ordering takeout. The pizzas are outstanding truly some of the best you'll find anywhere. The crust, cheese, and toppings all feel thoughtfully sourced and well executed. The pastas are also excellent, with that same fresh, clean flavor profile. The only thing that keeps me from giving a full five stars is the inconsistency with the Italian torta dessert. It's delicious, but the presentation varies: sometimes it comes with strawberries, other times it doesn't, and it even differs from table to table. When it's made the same way every time, it's a perfect finish to the meal. Ordered takeout from here a few weeks ago and was very impressed. Husband is from the New Haven area and talks down on our Italian food here (I know...) and even he was happy. Decided to dine in last night and the food was spectacular. Really good pizza and the best penne vodka I've ever had. Friendly and fast service too. Seems a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. We have 90,000 mediocre Italian restaurants in the area and I'm willing to pay a little more when I can confidently expect a good meal. Sad that it was super empty on a Saturday night. Had a group of six of us go here on a Friday night. First thing is we got charged an 18% gratuity. Unfortunately, I usually tip much higher than that but felt obligated to go along with that number. I dislike being told how much to tip and usually start at 20 and work my way up from there. Unfortunately the service was OK but not great, probably due to the Self limiting tip factor. We were also concerned that on a Friday night at 6:30 at the restaurant was only about a third full. Great location to the residence Inn where we were all staying for baseball games, but concerning long-term for their longevity. A friend and I had dinner last night and enjoyed every bite. Clementina salad, meatball sliders and the Ortolana pizza (Zucchini, Fresh Mozzarella, Eggplant, Cherry Tomatoes, Mushrooms, Cream, Parmesan, Shredded Provolone) were all excellent. The pizza in particular had a soft, chewy crust. A really good old fashioned, a few glasses of cabernet, and delicious cheesecake completed our meal, along with freshly filled cannoli. Our first time there. We ordered a pizza with mozzarella, broccoli rabe, sausage, and hot peppers. It was tasty. We also ordered the Italian salad with grilled chicken and an order of baked clams. The salad was also tasty, but the clams were so salty as to be inedible. We sent them back. The staff/manager couldn't be more accommodating. They apologized and offered to have them remade. The food here is delicious! The garlic, oregano, lemon rosemary wings are just beyond! Caesar salad was delicious, great sangria and great service. We sat at the bar and Chrissy was serving us. She was really thoughtful and provided impeccable service which is hard to come by nowadays. Only complaint is regarding the chairs, they are painful but I hear they are replacing them. read more

I came here a few months ago and tried it out and I was not impressed at all with the taste of the pizza, tonight we gave it another try and I'm not sure what they changed but wow what a difference!!! tonight we had the Margherita Pizza, and a pizza blanco for myself and my husband , our friends had the pesto pizza and the AnnaMaria, she couldn't stop saying how great the pesto was with the nuts on it, Steve had the AnnaMaria and he was blown away by the taste. We even took a pizza to go for later, Our server Giovanna was so nice to us, we sent our compliments to the pizza chef with the manager and the pizza chef came by the table to say hello and introduced himself, Caesar was so grateful for our compliments and made us feel so appreciated for sharing them with him. Unfortunately, this restaurant is in the old space of Fortina, which had great food and a much cooler atmosphere. The Italian Oven has mid level food, at best. The server, Chrissy, was very good, however. They made the very poor business decision to have Fox News on the giant tv behind the bar. What a poor choice for any business but especially in an area as diverse as Yonkers. I will not be returning. read more

Went to the Resturant and sat inside with my family, ordered appetizers first and then the waitress took our dinner order everything came out together. The food was not good at all. The wings which were hot wings had an odd flavor, fries were soggy and cold, pizza was undercooked and the cheese and topping slid off the slice, chicken parm tasted frozen or left over. Drinks were basic Pepsis in a sippy sized cup not for adults for over 3 dollars each. What seriously turned me off was the amount of Small Natty bugs flying around the food. Spent half the time swatting them away and trying to be party of the dinner conversation. Every 10 seconds they were trying to take our plates away but when it was time to pay the bill no one around lol. I left feeling sad after we paid the bill .we did not order dessert. I wanted it to be our new local spot but sadly the disappointment of the food, the price for pizza, wings,chicken parm and mozzarella sticks ,natty bugs, thinking how many I actually secretly ate the being interrupted every 5 min asking if we wanted the food wrapped in a Resturant that had 2 other tables including ours.This was my second attempt I went and did take out the first week they were open order was wrong but we ate it anyway figuring it was kinks it's new nope it it was poor quality at an expensive price.
