I found this place on Yelp and from the time we walked in they were as nice as they could be. Tim was our server and spoke excellent English. My wife and Dad ordered the Hamburger and both said it was delicious. My Dad actually said it was the best burger he had ever had. I had the French Onion Soup and Beef Bourguignon. The soup was the best French onion soup I have ever had. The bread was not mushy and the flavor was amazing. If you get the chance don't miss this place and ask for Tom. This was a very nice find after a morning at the louvre. The owner was very welcoming and found us a very nice table by the window. Excellent waiter who could converse in both French and English and helped review the specials of the day- lots of nice ones and not just the standard Parisian fare. I ordered the quiche pourer and my wife the salade bergere. We loved both of them and with a lovely Chardonnay and a nice draught it made for a great lunch. I had high expectations for this restaurant, but the visit turned out to be extremely disappointing. The staff lacked professionalism and seemed confused most of the time. Food arrived late, cold, and poorly presented. The taste was average at best, with some dishes completely lacking flavor. Tables were not cleaned properly, and the dining area looked messy. Customer service was almost nonexistent, and nobody checked on us during the meal. Given the expensive pricing, I expected far better quality and hospitality. This was the last night of our October 2024 trip to Paris and we were hoping for one last amazing dinner. We rolled the dice on this place, and were not disappointed. We were greeted warmly at the door and brought over to an excellent nook, great for seeing the street and the interior. Of course I had their French onion soup, which was delicious. We each had a steak, and I opted for the XL Ribeye, which was cooked to perfection. The accompanying frites and au poivre sauce were perfect. We ended up with a dessert order of profiteroles, a French indulgence we hadn't tried yet. It ended up being one of the most decadent and satisfying things we ate all week! My friend and I stopped by for lunch on Friday afternoon at 1 pm and the restaurant was about half full. I had a reservation, but don't think I needed it. To start, my friend got a beer and I got a glass of one of their white wines. Both were good. In addition to the regular menu offerings, they also offer some daily menu items. I went with the frog leg appetizer ($19.90) off the daily menu and the duck confit ($21.90) from the regular menu for my entree. The frog legs were cooked with parsley and butter. I haven't had them in a long time, but I liked the ones here after adding some salt. For the duck confit, it was okay as well, but I did find it a bit on the dry side. My friend got the chicken breast with ratatouille ($20.90) and really liked it. I tried a bite of both and agree that the chicken and ratatouille were incredibly flavorful. I chose to come to this restaurant because it came up in my research for a good ratatouille spot, and I'm glad it didn't disappoint on that regard! read more

I was in search of a good Beef Bourguignon and snails. I pretty much nailed it. The food was delicious, and the service was friendly and on-point. I sat outside. The snail flavors were outstanding. They handled my food allergies like champs, and I felt very safe. I was even able to eat the bread. Again, I drank another real-sugar Coca Cola. So delish. Our first night in Paris and this place left me speechless. I had the Beef Bourguignon and it was so delicious, top tier flavors & the beef just melts right off. Spooted this other well reviewed place on Google maps and walked down the street. Not disappointed in our decision. We came here for our first night in Paris. It was a short, walking distance from our hotel, hotel du louvre. Our concierge at the hotel recommended it. We went in there ordering the snails and intended to order duck or chicken, but quickly saw so many people ordering the burger and fries so decided to do snails and the burger. The waiter's name was Marc and did a great job recommending wine for us. He was very patient. The ambience was great. We were able to sit by the window as we requested. It definitely had a vibe that the locals eat there often we ended up sharing the burger and snails and was perfect. Sad that we don't live in Paris so we could try this place again, but hope to be back someday. read more

RACIST and unrespectful. I ordered a 3 course diner + wine + coffee that costed 65 euro. Note this is not a cheap expense. While I have a show to watch next street at 8pm where's 15 mins walk distant, and I finished the dinner around 6:40 ish. So I planed your stay a bit till 7:30 before the show start. Cos it's cold outside and I don't have anywhere to go anyways. So I opened the laptop to reply on some emails. BTW there's another lady siting beside me worked for hours here ordered just coffee and not get kick out. But the waiter later told me that the restaurant is full reservation and I should leave in 10 mins. However the restaurant is still having quite a lot seats !!! I don't see why this is only to me . Bistro Richelieu was our first breakfast stop in Paris and while we definitely enjoyed the breakfast, what we really enjoyed was the super friendly associate that waited on us. He was kind and gave us recommendations for our time in Paris and made us feel welcome. Regarding the food, we both got the La New Yorkaise, which came with a hot beverage, fresh orange juice, baguette with butter and jam, croissant, and eggs. The croissants were SO soft and yummy. The eggs were "fluffy," which is different from what we're used to, but they were also good. We wanted to return another time during the trip, but unfortunately didn't have time. Really glad we went here. We were hesitant because of some of the reviews but ignore them because it's delicious. One of our favorite meals! Everything was super amazing except for the dessert. The foie was mouth watering. The cheeses were a great assortment. My duck was my favorite dish of the trip. The pomme puree was so smooth and delicate. The potatoes dauphinois were truly amazing and I cannot replicate them at home! Amazing meal with French classics that will satisfy your palate. While meandering down the streets of Paris I came upon a quiet bistro with a sidewalk cafe and had a seat. The servers were friendly and spoke lovely English once I greeted them in French. I ordered the onion soup au gratin and the beef bourguignon with a half bottle of rose. When I tell you that this was the BEST meal I had in Paris, I am not exaggerating. The onion soup was deep and rich and stuck to my bones (it was a chilly April afternoon). Best onion soup I've ever had. My guess would be that it's all freshly made, right down to the stock. The beef bourguignon was delightful and served on mashed potatoes which gave me the feeling of eating a home made beef bourguignon in my Grandma's kitchen. I didn't get dessert because I was so full! Service was great because they were super accommodating to us not knowing French (they spoke English and had menus in English). This place is situated on a quieter street, so not as easy to find but I like it a lot for the indoor seating as it's not too hectic pedestrian-wise. Our party of three enjoyed the sea bass, boeuf bourguignon and duck breast. All dishes were great. The beef was tender, full of strong flavor yet not overpowering. The duck breast was sliced into small pieces and artfully arranged. The duck came with a celery mousse which I think also had turnip or parsnip added. That celery mousse was new to but I will be seeking out the recipe; can't recommend it enough. For dessert we enjoyed a chocolate/nut mousse, and a strawberry glacé . I am partial to chocolate and this did not disappoint. Service was prompt , polite and knowledgeable. The food was delivered in a reasonable time. The restaurant has outdoor seating along the road and indoor. Indoors was not too noisy but not quiet . While each seat was taken at this fine establishment, I did not see a wait. The pictures to this place looked so promising for French food. I was not completely satisfied. I came during lunch and I ordered from the lunch set. Option 1)is appetizer with an entree 2)entree with dessert or 3) appetizer, entree, and dessert. I ordered an appetizer and an entree. For the appetizer I had pea soup. It was okay. More on the water downed end though. For the entree I had beef with pasta. The pasta was elbow macaroni and the beef was really tasty and flavorful. However, this is what turned me off from the fish, it was very heavy! Heavy from oil. It was turning me off the dish. This group of Chinese girls, also tourists, came into the restaurant after I did, but got their order before because they spoke French. Otherwise the Escargot was good, tasted like butter & pesto. Ambiance is meh. Food was good but service was somehow weird. They didn't understand what we ask which is ok but their attitude towards that was not ok. Maybe the French way. We asked for coffee three times to get a second one. We told them that's fine if it is extra. Too bad my review would be much better because food was good. We ordered plain eggs and bread basket. Egg is ok. Coffee and Croissant was very good and bread as well. If they make this breakfast a little better ( put butter separate instead of putting on the bread, better jam and honey options, they have only one jam you usually get in flights) I think this place is a good breakfast choice. read more
