Made a last minute decision to come here after our nearby choice had too long a wait and ultimately I don't totally know how it has such positive reviews. We got two sandwiches: exotic tuna and apple/turkey/Brie. The former I much preferred as I do like a good cranberry curry concoction, but it was a bit too sweet, not solid enough, and could have used more tuna. The latter I really thought I would like except they had forgotten the Brie....which we didn't realize until after a few bites. So it was very much just a dry and bland sandwich. The saving grace was the bread, which was good. The falafel was cheap but we could've skipped it. Menu is extensive, at least. Not sure if that means everything is just meh or if they have some specialties.

We really enjoyed our meal here. It's affordable, friendly service, and it filled the spot. We got the salami Panini , and the exotic tuna sandwich, as well as the Hummus and chicken. I really enjoyed the Tuna, and my friend loved the Hummus. Will come back sometime

Bite is a sandwich shop I had not yet tried until now. Their fried chicken cutlet hit the spot with a nice crunch on decently fresh bread. My sandwich was in a tasty sauce that was not overwhelming. Service was quick and the prices reasonable (for NYC). This store had a more upscale ambiance for a sandwich shop and probably caters to nearby office workers. Either way it's a good place if you want a quick breakfast sandwich.

Chicken Schnitzel (rice not from restaurant)

I didn't know what to expect when I ordered from Bite. I found it on Grubhub and decided to try the chicken schnitzel after reading some positive reviews. The menu is mostly Mediterranean fare with some Italian sandwiches as well. They have several vegan options as well. Including vegan schnitzel (not sure what protein they use). They have both a schnitzel sandwich and schnitzel plate. I went with the plate which comes with two large pieces of chicken (seriously generous portion- I was impressed), a side salad and zaatar fries or rice. I thought it was a great value. The chicken was a great portion and wasn't too greasy, which is essential for me.. Needed a little bit of salt but otherwise tasty! I wouldn't order desserts from here though. I ordered a homemade chocolate chip cookie. It was large but didn't taste as fresh for some reason.

The falafel is a bit pricey with inflation, but it's still good :) Whether you get the Mediterranean salad or fresh banana bread, you'll likely enjoy your quick bite whether to dine in or to go. Service is friendly, fast, and helpful. There are a few seats with tables and counters if you want to meet up with folks or hangout to get some work time. Parking is likely tough in the street, but public transit options are nearby to avoid the headache of searching for a spot.

Prosciutto and Mozzarella Panini with Pesto

YUM! Don't walk past this wonderful sandwich spot- their paninis are to die for. The prosciutto and mozzarella is amazing and fresh, with sweet tangy sun dried tomatoes. I opted to add pesto, which gave it a bit more flavor but perhaps made it a big greasy. The vibes are small local cafe, with a surprising amount of tables. I'll definitely be back- although a small panini (pictured) will run you $11.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Bite yet! I've been coming to Bite for years for an affordable, reliable meal. It can be busy or have slow service during peak times but it's definitely worth the wait! The paninis can be a bit heavy/dry at times but they definitely don't skimp out on the ingredients. I recommend the panini options; I usually go for the roast beef or the chicken. I recently tried the Prosciutto and Mozzarella Panini and that was super good too! The tomato soup was hearty but could use a bit more flavor. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in Chelsea :)

This place deserves 5 stars alone just for serving a filling lunch in Manhattan for under $10. Add the fact this is some of the tastiest Mediterranean sandwiches I've had and I would give it 6 stars if I could. I opted for the Sabih, in a pita ($9.5) (Hummus, sautéed eggplant, hard-boiled egg, Middle Eastern chopped salad, and pickles. Optional: spicy.) and it was AMAZING! It was so filling I could only eat half, to top it off one of the staff gave us some complimentary brownie bites. The service is stellar, quick, friendly and efficient, exactly what I want during a work lunch. They have 3 locations in Manhattan (I think) definitely give it a try :)

I can't say enough about this place. The sandwiches are so tasty and the atmosphere is just easy..The owner greets me and always has time to give a kind word. I love the Middle Eastern Vegan and the soups and the veggie burger and the falafel!!!! I have never had a bad meal here!!! Please go now!!!!

I don't understand how it takes 30 min to make a sandwich. I came in here to get a quick sandwich, and I was starving, so with that combo I was pretty annoyed. I ordered the sabih sandwich. the presentation was pretty, but the eggplant was really oily and it was over salted. I didn't mention it to the staff because I didn't have the time to wait for a replacement. I think they may be understaffed?

First time trying chicken schnitzel and it was exactly what I needed. Great decor and limited seating for a smaller shop but I could watch myself eat in the mirror. Lunchtime may be busy but they have a whiteboard menu so large I couldn't figure out what I wanted even after waiting 10 minutes in line. Luckily they have combo options(!) - at a reasonable price too. Great sandwich bread and fresh ingredients while the soup was hearty and filling. They seem to have great vegetarian options too and I wouldn't mind coming back to try something new. They make things their own way and I'm all for it.

Used to go to the 14th street location. So happy to have the new shop close by. Fresh, well made quick food at a reasonable price. Can never have too many of its kind in NY. I love that they don't ever over do anything. I haven't had anything served to me that was overcooked, over toasted, or over dressed. A chef that knows restrain is an excellent chef. Their breakfast sandwich on brioche with hem and cheese is amazing. It embodies all the characters of a good breakfast. Not greasy at all. I can have that at any time of the day. Their sandwiches options are all pretty good. Really enjoyed the lunch today. Mediterranean salad is a hearty vegetarian option with fluffy warm pita. White chicken chili is flavorful and not heavy. I like the hint of cilantro in it. It's like a creamier version of chicken and rice soup. On top of all this, I personally like the ice coffee there. Not heavily roasted, the beans have the caramel toffee note, best served black. read more

The pesto eggplant and the pesto chicken are great. I love this place for lunch since I work nearby. I highly recommend it for a quick bite, especially pickup as it gets busy in terms of finding a place to sit around lunchtime. read more

I hate to give a poor review because the food always tastes good. The food order always takes 20 - 30 mins longer and top of that is always missing something. EVERY TIME I ORDER SOMETHING IS MISSING. Whether it be soda or chips. When I call to get the missing item sent they are not apologetic and make me wait a whole another hour to get it. They need to be more organized. read more

The place looked nice, but it took about an hour to get a simple breakfast. I ordered two fried eggs, a croissant, and a coffee... When they brought me an omelette, The manager had a 10 minute conversation with me about how that was a fried egg... Never thought I would have to explain to a manager of a breakfast place what 2 eggs over easy means. read more

I'm thrilled to have a healthy AND affordable lunch option near my office! Plus, there is a sizable, bright seating area. The service was quick and friendly. I got the grilled cheese combo of the Mediterranean grilled cheese and tomato soup and I'm so glad I tried something different. Grilled cheese did not do this sandwich justice as it has so much more flavor than you'd expect from that category of sandwiches. As for the soup, who knew a simple tomato soup could taste so fresh and delicious. The only downside of this meal was the waiting time, but if you order ahead that's taken care of. read more

This is my 4th review for this Bite location. I come here 3-4 times a week for lunch. The updated review is to highlight the staff. They are some of the nicest people you are going to meet in a quick-serve restaurant. And if you get a chance to talk with the owner Ami, you will meet a guy who is working very hard, at being one of the best quick-serve restaurants in Manhattan. Ami is a great guy! The 5 star rating is given for this reason: The food is great; the people who work there are so friendly; the prices are about 15-20% less than the competition. Went to Bite for the first time tonight. Got in right before closing. I definitely enjoyed my meal. I ordered a salami sandwich which came on focaccia and the Green curry soup. The sandwich was excellent. Fresh cut meat and cheese, fresh bread, large in size (was a half sandwich). My soup was also great, taste wise, but borderline cold in temperature. Maybe because I got there right before closing, who knows. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because the employees seemed annoyed. They weren't very friendly, had snappy attitudes when I was asking questions about the menu, which is up on a wall and hard for me to read without glasses. I don't know if they're always that snappy or annoyed that 3 customers came in 20 minutes before closing. If it weren't for the attitudes of the employees, Bite would have earned 5 stars from me tonight. They also serve beer and wine and had live entertainment , all things I like. Also the price point was great. Ordered 2 combos for my sister and I and they only came to $18.50! I would order from this restaurant again... but maybe just to go. read more

This used to be such a great place but lately it's all been going downhill. First of all, my favorite employees don't seem to be working there anymore and they always made it a fun environment to work in with the music and just overall kindness. The people who work there now seem to be robots and honestly not very kind. Always an attitude. This one girl, with long dark hair gave me such an attitude when I was ordering, and when I asked if my panini was ready after 25 minutes, she was snarky, but told me it would be out soon. Secondly, the food quality has gone way way way down. The ciabatta bread is tough, stale, and most of the food itself tastes like reheated or canned. I did ask an employee, and found out the mushrooms are not fresh and straight from a can, as I suspected :( The greens are soggy and have a plastic taste to them. I never really come here anymore. 3 stars just because it used to be a good place to come. read more

I mean where do I start? The staff that greets you by name when you enter and remembers your order, the beautiful and trendy decor, the quick turnaround, or the EPICly delicious and authentic Mediterranean food. Seriously this place is 5 stars in every aspect and I am by no way swayed by the delicious thai green curry I am currently devouring at my desk, after only waiting 5 minutes for my food. I went here for the first time because the place beside it had a line out the door. I stopped over thinking it would be quick and fast considering there were only 4 people in front of me. The guy up front was nice and took my order. 30 minutes i'm still waiting and slowly but surely there are a ton of people crowding the waiting area and zero food coming out. After 45 minutes of waiting i finally got my food. I ordered the goat cheese salad which was not good. 99% of the salad was warm baby greens and barely any toppings. Also, there was no dressing on the salad or in the bag. I also go the tomato soup, hoping it would revive the tasteless salad i got. Nope. The soup was so greasy that it left a film on my mouth. The only thing that i actually ate was the side bread that came with the soup. Total disappointment and waste of money. read more

Poor experience, ordered through seamless. Called them prior on phone to confirm if the order is processing, got to know that the food is already being made. The folks were unhelpful and didn't knew how long it takes to just make a simple sandwich and salad. Overall had to wait over 30 mins to get it. Wouldn't recommend to go read more

So good! I work around here and everything is super expensive. It was nice to be able to choose a well sized sandwich and soup for the price of just one regular salad at most of these places. The staff is super friendly and very nice atmosphere with excellent cheery Mediterranean music! Very happy. I definitely found my new lunch spot :) read more

This is in a ritzy part of town on 60th St between Madison Ave & Park Ave with Ferraris & Bentleys parked on the street, so you have to guess that the storefront rent must be astronomical. But oh, these gastronomical sandwiches are off the charts and can justify the price. Once you decipher the names of the sandwiches on the menu and see what's between the bread, you will want to try all of them. I settled on 2 finalists, but decided get both anyway. All sandwiches are made fresh with some of the best looking meats & ingredients I've ever seen! And what's better is that they bake all the focaccia for the sandwiches fresh and in-house. You see the bread oven right behind the register. I wonder if I could buy a slab of that bread? The L'Inferno brought images of Danté Alighieri's version of the Underworld to mind, but was a spicy hot masterpiece of sandwich art. The combination of thinly sliced roasted porchetta, nduja, spicy grilled eggplant & arugula was fantastic! The fresh baked focaccia took it even further. But I did learn something new today besides Italian pronunciation, which was that nduja (silent n) is a spicy sausage from Calabrese that's spreadable like butter. I gotta get me some of that stuff! The La Paradiso sounds like the third installment of Danté's Divine Comedy trilogy, but is a very mild, but tasty sandwich with mortadella, stracciatella & crushed pistachios in pistachio cream. The pistachio cream is a stroke of culinary genius and gives the sandwich an amazingly smooth texture & taste. The only part of the Divine Comedy missing from their menu is La Purgatorio and I do not want to find out what would go into that sandwich!

Google their name and "best" and get hundreds of hits, but the majors who crowned them "best sandwich" title include Saveur Magazine, the big one touted by the family; Eater NY, ranking La Paradiso the most elite Italian sandwich outside of Italy; Las Vegas Weekly, who crowned them "Home of the world's best sandwiches"; TripAdvisor, for whom the Italian original is the most reviewed eatery with a near perfect rating; and The Infatuation NYC guides who promise the execution of the crispy, airy schiacciata bread completely justifies the hype. All 17 options looked amazing, so I spoke to a regular in line, telling her I couldn't decide between "La Paradiso", the most praised (even though she informed me "mortadella is just bolonie" or the Hot Italian, which was more my style. So, I did what any gluttonous American would do and I got both. And a Diet Coke, of course. La Paradiso has thinly sliced bolonie for a savory base, with creamy shredded stacciatella cheese, with sweet but earthy pistachio cream, and a sprinkle of toasted pistachio for texture (that I didn't detect). The Hot Italian had thin, lean turkey, spicy and smoky spreadable Calabrian pork sausage, a balancing provolone, calabrian chili honey, and peppery arugula (that they claim adds crunch that I didn't detect). Were they life-changing? No. But I rank Paradiso a 8.8 and Hot Italian a 10. And because everyone is hard-working and everything is so freshly prepared and cut, it's a class act. They should seriously make a sign that says, "Can't decide? Get two!" and then give me free sandwiches on my yearly trips for the idea.

I have been a regular to the Bite on 14th street and was really excited to see one so close to my office! I think it was their 1st day of business and the owner offered me a free brownie! Must admit this place looks amazing!!! Much bigger than the 14th st or the lafayette store. Food was amazing as usual and i had to order the chicken panini which has sweet peppers and mozz cheese.
