Everything we had was amazing! We split the curry chicken salad sando and it was perfect for lunch with two people. Instead of the kettle chips, we upgraded to truffle Parm fries. For a quick lunch before flying home to Houston, this place was a wonderful reprieve from the tourists and heat. Enjoyed a wonderful dinner here with a group of friends & 3 young kids. We had specified our party had kids in the reservation, & upon arrival, the table had kids menus ready in their seats which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered: -Beef tartare: this was delicious & one of the best tartares I've had. Generous portion. -Bone marrow & escargot: this was meh. It was hard to scoop the marrow out & hardly anything came out. Would be better to cut the bone length wise like other places. Also, the bread the escargot was on top of was wayyy too thick. -Foie gras torchon: rich & really delicious. Perfect ratio & balance of flavors to balance out the fattiness of the foie gras. -Blue crab pappardelle: this was amazing! If you're a crab lover, this is a must order. Generous portion of crab & great al dente pasta. -Husband ordered fish of the day (branzino I think?): fish was nicely cooked, but the sauce was inedible. Was way too sweet, like candy. -Kids had the fettuccine Alfredo & wagyu cheeseburger with fries from the kids menu. I thought both were overly salty, but they all enjoyed it. Fries were exceptionally good, but again, just too salty. Overall, we found some orders to be either exceptionally good or underwhelming. OMG -- the Flounder Piccata isn't just good... it is absolutely delicious. Perfectly prepared, light yet rich, with capers and fresh lemon folded into a buttery sauce that melts together beautifully. We came in for happy hour on a Monday afternoon around 5 PM. We were promptly seated outside and noticed there were no other guests in the restaurant. We wondered if the food might reflect this but we were pleasantly surprised to find the opposite as the staff was more than ready to take good care of us. Drinks were phenomenal, food was terrific and Service was the best part! We received great recommendations from our server who delivered our food quickly. Happy hour was great as cocktails were $10 and wine was $6. Appetizers were 30% off and we tried a variety of items. Some of our favorite choices were the beet salad and shrimp primavera which was super fresh and had lots of asparagus and peas along with fresh pasta. Yum! Ambiance was amazing, loved the atmosphere. Service was terrible, barely saw my waitress and I understand they get busy but if I'm paying this kind of money I expect better service. Ordering should not be hard. All I wanted was the chicken and rice with no mushrooms. What followed was three minutes of back and forth: no mushroom, then can you do no mushroom sauce, then what about this, then what about that. I gave up and ordered the burger just to end the conversation. And the burger itself? Cooked well, professionally done -- the kitchen clearly knows what it's doing. But the meat is vague, nothing distinctive about it, and the sauce completely takes over. I think it's mustard-based,but it like being hit with a bulldozer and masked all other taste. I had a fantastic dinner at Bitterroot! I sat bar side with Krystale and she was fabulous. The selection of cocktails were fantastic. They have a very large selection of liquors and wines. The food.. Oh my. This is food you could put up against some of the best cuisine out there. I had the Flounder Picatta which may sound different but trust it is worth the exploration! So light and airy but perfectly fried to have a little crunch without drying out the fish. I had their Banana Pudding to finish it off and it was delectable. It was a bit sweeter than I'm used to with the accompaniment of a caramel sauce but the presentation was fantastic. The one recommendation I'd have on the Banana Pudding is to pour your own sauce :) Not a negative but because I paid with card there was a 3.5% charge. Food was so incredible the first time and server was eh. Despite the service being not what we expected for the food and ambiance. I was a server year ago and my standard is high, but even for my husband she could been a sub-par server at shoneys at best. But given the food choices in Destin of this caliber, I thought I'd try it again. So glad I did. Mason waited on us and he was absolutely incredible! I never had to ask for a thing, my dishes were taken away as soon as we were done eating, my water glass wand never empty and I'm not typically picky, but I really didn't like my drink from the bar, so what did Mason do? No questions asked, he brought me another kind. I think he should be the trainer of all the other servers, maybe even the manager, because he was five star just like the food! It was one of our favorite meals of the trip. Certainly my #1. Every food item delivered. The picanha was delicious, though some pieces were chewy. The burger was tender and full of umami. The drinks were all great. My favorite cocktail was the Billionaire. Their old fashioned is one of the best I've tried (plus they're only $5 all day Monday!!). Service was great throughout the night. This is the first time we tried this restaurant and really enjoyed dinner there. We made reservations for Sunday evening and service was great. The place looks very nice from the inside. I liked the ambiance. We ordered their Old fashioned with rye and their garlic hummus. The hummus was tasty and it comes with naan pieces. We also ordered their chicken parm but I made some changes. Instead of pasta, I got fresh vegetables. We also got their pepper filet mignon that comes with fresh beans and mashed potatoes but we replaced the mash potatoes with extra fresh beans. After eating all the seafood we could handle on our vacation, I was looking for something special for our last dinner in Destin. I found Bitterroot on Yelp and everything looked great in the pictures. The cocktails were good looking and tasty. We ordered the arrancini, the goat cheese flatbread, split a Wagyu burger and fries with the Harbison fondue, and dessert was bread pudding with bone marrow ice cream. (Yes, it sounds weird, but it was really delicious!) All of the food was perfectly prepared and lovingly presented. I wish we had room to try more of the dishes. The music was right up our alley and we sang along through most of dinner. The servers even sang a little bit as well. I would like to preface this review stating i have been a waitress and am currently a registered nurse, having extensive experience in customer service I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this restaurant, especially given the price point and the fact that it was Valentine's Day. From the moment I sat at the bar for the prix fixe meal, I was met with a consistently negative attitude from the bartender. Throughout a $250+ meal, the service remained slow and unwelcoming. At one point, the bartender had a pink vape visibly tucked into her bra, which felt highly unprofessional. Staff members were openly expressing in the background that they couldn't wait for the shift to end, which further detracted from the atmosphere. This negativity carried over to nearby guests as well. For a restaurant charging premium prices, especially on a special occasion, professionalism and basic hospitality should be a given. Unfortunately, that was not the experience here, and it significantly diminished what should have been an enjoyable evening. read more

Dinner I routinely change it up and it always is good. Alcohol selection is among the best in the area and fairly priced.
