To be fair, im from Texas and I know BBQ. As someone who visited 34 of the Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ joints last year, I fully admit I came in with high barbecue standards. But after several days of seafood and beach food in Destin, I was craving a taste of home and decided to make the trip. A word of warning: what should have been a 15-mile drive took nearly an hour on a rainy Friday afternoon, so plan accordingly. The standout items for me were the sides. The mac and cheese was perfectly done, the baked beans were excellent, and the cornbread was a great addition to the meal. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was easily my favorite meat on the tray, great flavor and texture. The brisket and ribs, unfortunately, didn't quite hit the mark for me. Both were on the dry side, with the brisket lacking the tenderness and richness I'd hope for, and the ribs needing more flavor. Portions also felt a bit small for the price. Our total came to around $70 which included a tip but felt a little steep for what was served. That said, there are plenty of positives. The dining room is spacious and would easily accommodate large groups. The staff working the serving line were friendly, efficient, and kept things moving. The restaurant and restrooms were both very clean, and while parking felt limited, that may have been more a reflection of my unfamiliarity with the area than an actual issue. If you're in the Destin area and looking for a break from seafood and typical beach fare, this is a solid option. Just know that if you're coming from a Texas barbecue background, your expectations may be a little different.
One of the only BBQ spots I know of around here so it was good to finally give it a try. Wife and I shared a 3 meat sampler so we could try a lot of things. Pulled pork, sausage (which had cheese and jalapeno in it), and turkey. All three were very good and we liked that they have four different sauces on each table. A sweet sauce, black pepper one, and a couple vinegary based. The star of the show though for me was the collard greens. They have a great spicy flavor and so flavorful. Excellent spot when you need a seafood break.
We found this last year and had to come back. It is right off 30a. It has plenty of parking and seating inside. You stand in line to order, you can see them preparing your meal in front of you. You pay and then seat yourself. I wish this place was local to me. because the meat is excellent. I crave the turkey. It is so lean, not dry....just the perfect flavor. The brisket is so flavorful and moist. I cannot say enough about the meats and how good they taste. They are fast and friendly here. You won't be disappointed!
I would absolutely leave 4.5 stars if possible! This place has easy access, parking and the ambiance is perfect for a bbq spot. We have family in Texas so we are pretty well versed in BBQ, first, something that not easy to find is Texas Twinkies. I absolutely had to order those. They were good but they had a lot of sauce on them, more than I cared for, but definitely check them out. We ordered a 3 meat plate to share, the brisket was as good as I ever had! The pulled pork was very good and the sausage was good and spicy. A friend with us had a pulled pork sandwich, I have never seen so much pork on a sandwich. This place is not overpriced either, hard to find in this area. The coleslaw is vinegar based, which I love. The baked beans were very good, definitely give this place a try.
Had a craving for some BBQ, and here is where we landed to try some. I will say it was all pretty good, but nothing absolutely WOWED me. I'd probably come back, though. Asked about the sausage, and the bartender told us there was no cheese in it. She said she'd ask to be sure, but she never did. Just picked up her phone and started scrolling. We asked the manager/owner that greeted us, and he told us they use cheddar in their sausage. Thank goodness we found out the truth... Bartender was nice but not very attentive. We had to ask for refills; otherwise, she stayed at the bar end on her phone. The brisket, turkey, pulled pork, and veggies were all delicious. The meats with a decent amount of sauce were very good as all of our meats were a bit too dry on their own. The setting/decor was spacious and nice, but the downside was all the wood and metal for sound to bounce off of inside-- made for a loud environment. We had a hard time hearing each other over the voices of a group behind us and down the bar from us, just because of no surfaces to help absorb some of that noise. Good food, fair bartender, good environment/furniture/decor.
If you're a true BBQ lover, you have to try this place in Santa Rosa Beach! The ribs were absolutely incredible! They were fall-off-the-bone tender with just the right amount of smokiness. Every bite was so good and packed with so much flavor. I had to stop myself from licking my fingers clean. The 4 sauces on the table were all different and a great accompaniment to the ribs. The sides were just as impressive -- the mac and cheese was creamy and rich, and the collard greens tasted like they had been simmered all day. The cornbread was especially sweet and almost tasted like cake. The staff was super friendly and made us feel right at home. You can tell they take real pride in their food and their service. The atmosphere is casual. You order at the counter, pick up your food and then carry it to your table. I am so glad that we gave this place a chance and it definitely earned all of its good reviews!!
when i tell you this is the best bbq i've ever had, i truly mean it!! we came in just craving some bbq and stumbled upon 3 sons. we ordered the rib plate with mac and cheese, and coleslaw and the baked potato with pulled pork. these ribs were absolutely fall off the bone, had a great smoke penetration, and super juicy. i've had bbq in the past and it's usually dry and has that generic "bbq" taste. these do not have that at all. you taste a beautiful smokey flavor with the delicious meat. the pulled pork was great as well and had a tasty bark. sides were great too, but nothing special. mac and cheese was your typical shells and cheese and coleslaw was acidic and crunchy. overall, one of the best bbq places in the area. the staff was friendly and professional and knowledgeable as it was our first time in. highly recommend!

Yes, it's the beach, but $26 for carry out seems like a lot The average BBQ cost per person typically ranges from $14 to $18, depending on the menu and service style I live here, but probably won't go back. "BBQ is not just food; it's a way of life."

Lets start with the Good. Service was great! The staff were friendly, prompt, helpful, responsive. They hire great people, it is obvious. The restaurant itself is pleasant. Inviting decor, really liked the bare area. its not a large building but it gas a cozy feel and a very enjoyable atmosphere. Also very clean which I really appreciate. The food is good. It's not superb, but it's not bad either. The ribs were perfectly cooked but a bit bland. The brisket was a touch dry for me (my opinion), but still enjoyable, though they were also a bit bland. Barbecue was amazing and the service is outstanding. Great place to dine in friendly atmosphere for families. Add your own barbecue sauce and all the tables with all the utensils and napkins you could possibly need. read more

I've stopped in for a weekday lunch a few times in the month of February. Both times it was not busy & food service was quick! We've loved everything we have had here & love the southern bbq vibes. The Texas twinkies are a must try. I have been loving the voodoo bowl - not too heavy & full of flavor. read more

I don't typically think of BBQ at the beach but this place was legit! It was a great way to deviate from all the seafood. Such a cute and clean place. The food was to die for, great drinks, and a huge bourbon selection! I got the brisket burger and it was incredible. They only make so many a day was happy we were there early. My husband got brisket and ribs and wouldn't stop raving about how the meat just fell off the bone. It was so hard to decide on the sides but we got Mac n cheese and the baked beans and they were both great. The signature margarita was so unique and brought the BBQ flavor forward and the bourbon smash was perfectly balanced. Great beer selection as well with local choices and such friendly staff. Would 100% recommend! read more

Oh boy. Where to start. We ordered the Pit-masters plate for 4 and a side of collard greens. We split it amongst 5 of us. We ended up bringing some of the sides home with us. Collard greens, and potato salad were delicious. My kids enjoyed the Mac and cheese and baked beans. (I enjoyed them too.) Coleslaw is different from what I am used to, it was just ok for me. My wife loved the coleslaw. The meats were delicious as well. Desserts are easily shared with two people. The five of us split up key lime pie, banana pudding and my favorite the peach cobbler. My child really loved the banana pudding. All of the staff were friendly. We met one of the owners and she was very nice and gave us a few meal suggestions. My only regret is I found this place on my last day of my vacation. read more

You can smell the smokers rolling as you walk in the door to this incredible BBQ spot in Santa Rosa. We stopped in for lunch so I wanted to stick with something a little lighter and went for the Pork Sandwich and Roasted Veggies. So so good! My wife's Mac N Cheese was also incredible. I like how they have all the sauces at the table. Full bar and large dining room, including outdoor patio seating. Walk up counter service and parking lot for convenience. Highly recommended if you are looking for BBQ Port, Brisket, or Chicken. read more

Don't miss this gem, the bbq at Three Sons is DELICIOUS! Stopped by for lunch on a whim while visiting Seaside and driving down 30A. The restaurant was clean and inviting, the staff friendly and helpful. Tried the Texas Twinkies-AMAZING!!!!! Baked beans, potato salad, Cole slaw was delicious! The turkey and brisket was spot on, and their bbq sauces on the table(4) types were OUTSTANDING! If you like bbq or not...go to Three Sons, they'll change your mind on bbq in a GOOD way!!! read more

Owners of this restaurant are so kind and make sure that you are satisfied with your meal. Took the time to cut any fat off when I asked for lean brisket. The extra effort makes all the difference. Beautiful restaurant, and order at the counter, and there is a separate bar if you would like a little medicinal beverage to go with your meal.. will be a must visit on our visits to 30 A. read more
