I switched to them more than 7 years ago from a large practice on Kempsville Rd that once told my then tween daughter "Stop winning, it doesn't hurt that much". Can you believe it? They were rude and just too large. Dr. Meader and his professional, caring and fun staff are always accommodating whenever possible and I stopped being afraid of dentists and go whenever scheduled or have an issue. As far as wearing mask, hey I did it for over 2 years, what's a couple more minutes in the waiting room going to hurt. THANK YOU STAFF FOR ENFORCING THE MASK REQUIREMENTS FOR MEDICAL FACILITIES. There are STILL people who are compromised medically and I appreciate them following the rules for OUR safety. If I could give the 10 stars I would. Me AND my family.

Shalanda was my hygienist and she was very thorough yet comfortable when doing my cleanings. She is an asset to your office. My complaints are with communication gaps regarding billing and occasional rudeness from the office manager. Each time I visited the office, I would inquiry about any payments outstanding after the claim was submitted to my insurance companies. When I stop coming in 2024 due to an illness, I was told there were no outstanding payments due from me. Your office had my address, telephone# and email address on file. From June 2024 to Juse 2026, I received no mail, email or telephone call regarding outstanding payments. In July 2026, I received an outstanding bill via mail that had accrued interest and the statutory limit to file with the insurance company had passed. I am very disappointed because I trusted your staff to treat me better. I had plan to return once I got a release from my oncology doctor but now I have to search for a new dentist office after finding your office a place that I felt comfortable visiting. i requested that date(s) associated with the bill. To date, I have not received that documentation via mail. Thanks

I have been terrified of the dentist for some time. Kind of like the car dealership, you have a go-between who talks billing and insurance with you away from the nurse and dentist. It's discrete and comfortable without pressure. My nurse (dental hygienist) was Susan? Or Sandy? God she was an angel. She was so kind to me breaking down and upset and in pain. She made me feel so comfortable talking about stuff and offering anything I might need. My dentist was Dr Taylor who was incredibly knowledgeable and proficient. I got out what needed to come out and I even scheduled an appointment for regular maintenance later this month. I was made comfortable to be there, whether I needed nitrous or a valium, either are available. And they make sure you are physically comfortable with numbing. Mentally comfortable is hard, but true kindness shines through in the folks who work there. I got a kids "reward" (shark plushie) to hold while I had my procedure. When I left I got a "goodie bag" with full instructions on what I had done, extra gauze, and an emergency card. It's a little hinky getting in with the road construction on witchduck road. But soon as your turn on Grayson, by the church, it's there. There's an employee entrance on the witchduck side and another saying Ste 200 on the side, even though the dentist is Ste 100, this is the door you go in.

For one thing, he yanks your cheek around instead of buying a vibrator. 3. Speaking of too cheap to buy equipment --- You'll freeze your wisdom teeth off on a Monday when it's cold outside. The heat has been off all weekend, and they won't install a programmable thermostat, or have someone come in early to warm the place.

The front desk staff was welcoming right away and even thanked me for completing my forms ahead of time, which was a nice touch. The dental assistant who took my X-rays (I'm assuming that's what it's called) came out to get me and was super kind and easy to talk to. She explained everything as we went and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. After the imaging, Dr. Hernandez came in and went over everything they found. I honestly don't remember ever having a dentist be that thorough. He took his time, explained things clearly, and made sure I understood what was going on and had all my questions answered. This was just the first visit--they'll do the cleaning and anything else at a follow-up--but overall, everyone there was wonderful. It's hard for me to even say this, but I'm actually looking forward to going back. "Clear my day; I'm going to the dentist," said no one ever…read more Well, at this dentist's office, this is what they expect. They actually gave me grief about being upset that I had to wait over an hour to be seen. Appointment times don't matter. They're treated as suggestions. Time management is a serious issue here. My first visit I arrived five minutes early and still waited 45 minutes before being seen. Dr. Smith was apologetic. My second visit, I arrived 15 minutes early and still had to wait over an hour to be seen. I chatted with another person in the waiting area and she said she always has to wait over an hour. When I was finally seen, I had to leave before they did the cleaning because I had another appointment. Forgive me for thinking two hours was enough time set aside for a visit to the dentist. This time, Dr. Smith was less apologetic and more "we're busy...it happens." Well then, what is the purpose of appointments? She actually asked me, "are you always on time?" Ma'am. Stop. The contention was wild, which added to me leaving...and quietly vowing never to return. Other than that, I was told I had several cavities and fillings that needed to be replaced. Three months later, I was finally able to be seen by my regular dentist (that I've been going to for about six years faithfully), and he found no such thing. Pretty needless to say, I will NOT return to Dr. Smith and I wholeheartedly do NOT recommend this office to anyone.

My 7 year old daughters first visit to this dentist went ok, not great, I wasn't planning to go…read moreback but the hygienist was really wonderful so I gave them another shot. Today was our second visit and it was a totally different story. Upon arrival 15 min early, myself and 2 daughters entered the small waiting room where another young boy was already sitting, this young boy had his shoes off & sat with his feet & dirty mismatched socks propped up onto another chair, coughing, sneezing , sniffling , clearly he was sick. After sitting for awhile I gathered that this was the son of an employee at this particular office , he & 2 other boys walked back and forth from the waiting room & the back rooms where the exams take place. Don't get me wrong, as a mother of 2 &one on the way, I understand that kids get sick & sometimes we have to make it work even if it's not ideal but I was genuinely concerned about my 18 month old getting wherever sickness this boy was spreading throughout the office & possibly myself whose 6 months pregnant. Also, the office isn't exactly clean, the windows were absolutely awful , everything in the waiting room was covered in a thick layer of dust, and smelled stale. A passerby stopped in to inform the front desk of the dog feces on the sidewalk in front of their door & also pointed out a shopping cart full of trash sitting right in front of their office, the woman from the front desk walked outside & took a picture & returned to her seat. The office space next door was empty so I thought it would've been easy enough to move the cart that blocked the path to their door , but she chose not to. Nor did she do anything about the mess someone's pooch left. It's unfortunate because I really do like the dental hygienist, can't say the same for the dentist herself because I never got to met her, but after today's experience I won't be returning. I would never recommend them.

One of the dental practices I contacted suggested trying Dr. Breininger so I called his office and have been very happy with the way things have turned out. Dr. Breininger was able to see her right away and take care of her issues. The facility is clean and modern. The staff members appear to have all been employed at the practice for a long time and are comfortable working with each other. Besides just treating your issues they take the time to get to know you. Dr. Breininger is a person who genuinely cares about his patients.
