Such a cool place. We were kindly greeted by the front counter staff. They offered their recommendations and helped us in a quick manner. Stopped here for a Silent Book Club meetup. You walk in the door , into a friendly low key atmosphere. They have a nice list of beverages to choose from. A few food items too. I decided to try the pumpkin spice latte. The staff here are friendly , no cash accepted , so bring your plastic. My beverage was ready super quick. Found a seat and took the cover off my cap. It looked very inviting, it was delicious. Creamy top with warm coffee, and no artificial taste. I would have liked the coffee to be hotter. I will be back again. read more

My wife and I are visiting from out of town and this place was high on our list of things to do since we have heard so many wonderful stories about the establishment and its mission. The experience was even better than we expected. During our first visit, we were waited on by Matt who could not have been more pleasant and helpful as he patiently waited for our group to make up their minds. After we were seated, he came over to check on us and provide recommendations for other local sites and places to visit. The coffee and pastries were excellent and reasonably priced. I was so excited to try out some new drinks and food today! I decided to go for the white chocolate mocha and the tea of the day, which was a hibiscus punch tea, along with a chicken and waffle sweet. Let me tell you, everything was absolutely scrumptious! The coffee was perfectly brewed, not too sweet at all. The hibiscus punch tea just needed a little bit of natural cane sugar syrup to make it even better. And as for the chicken and waffle, I have no idea if it was homemade, but it was seriously tasty! This coffee shop really blew my mind of how beautiful it looks inside. I had never heard of Bitty & Beau's Coffee, but nearly perfect ratings made it my choice of local coffee spot to try out in Wilmington. The vibe is very industrial located adjacent to car shops and I'm pretty this place occupies space that either sold or worked on cars in the past. They have a banner boasting that they're the official coffee of The Rachael Ray Show and were selling quite a bit of merchandise from tumblers to shirts and hats. We went with a large coffee and large mocha, but were served one drink in a 12 oz cup even though both were supposed to be 16 oz. I'm thinking the cashier wasn't listening properly while I was ordering (they don't provide printed receipts, so not sure what I was charged for). Both drinks were fine, but pretty average for a coffee shop. For the Starbucks-like prices they charge, I was expecting much better, but turned out to be a pretty unmemorable experience. Perhaps I caught them on an off day given the other reviews. Given the prices and lackluster quality, I wouldn't recommend Bitty & Beau's Coffee to others, as there's much better options in Wilmington. read more

One of my favorite places to stop in Wilmington! The whole idea is that people that are perceived as different are extremely capable and can hold jobs. The shop is cute with lots of merchandise and a few cozy little spots to sit. They have changed the inside since I was there last; making it a little smaller but still cute. My iced coffee was good with the added flavoring. The cashier was fantastic. There was a group of employees that were having fun, singing songs and enjoying each other's company. read more

I've been in NC for 3 weeks now and decided to explore what Wilmington has to offer! I stumbled across Bitty & Beau's while trying to find a coffee shop to study at and it did not disappoint! They greet every customer with a warm welcome and friendly smile! While I was there for a few hours, they made sure to come up to me and check up on how I was doing. The coffee and bagel were phenomenal! I'm very particular with my coffee and it exceeded my expectations. They even write a little note on your cup, which absolutely made my day. The atmosphere is wonderful, the decor really fits the industrial vibes inside! It made my studying experience so much better! An added bonus: the mission behind the shop is one that is extremely positive and so much more worth going to. It warms my heart to know that every individual deserves a chance to be independent and to be empowered by doing so. We made a special trip for this coffee shop because we've heard great things about this mission-driven business. With that in mind, this was a great spot regardless of the mission. The coffee selection was spot on and our bagels really did the trick. Adding on fantastic service and providing opportunity for folks who might not otherwise find it quite as easily was just the cherry on top. The only "con" about this place was the location. Since we were in town for a long weekend, it was a little off the beaten trail and hard to find with some construction going on around it. While the space was beautiful, it was tricky to find. The folks that worked there were all genuine and kind, and they radiated so much positivity. I hope they know they all brightened my day today. I am on a hunt to try all the various coffee spots in Wilmington and since I had not been to Bitty and Beau's I decided to check them out on a lovely Sunday. This company has such a beautiful story and mission. On their website Bitty's says they advocate for the value, acceptance, and inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, the Wrights have dedicated their lives to making the world a better place for their children and others living with disabilities. The inside of the shop is very clean and organized and wide open. Once I walked up to the counter I was greeted by a very nice cashier and ordered my coffee. You get a playing card that acts as your number that is called once your coffee/drink is ready. On one of their signs they say they use the same coffee as the Rachel Ray show, and this is where I dock some stars. I did not like my latte at all and sadly ended up throwing much of it out. It was almost grainy in taste, and a large was more like a medium. With that being said, I do still love the message behind this company and the wonderful customer service, just not so much their lattes. read more

I live in Charleston, where I visit that shop frequently, so when I was in Wilmington, I couldn't pass up a chance to visit the hometown location. The interior is beautiful. Plenty of seating. Friendly atmosphere. Our order was taken quickly and we relaxed while it was being prepared. My wife also bought a candle that was made by a mother / daughter team locally.
