This is not the place to shop for Black hair care products. I live in the area, so I've been a customer just long enough to notice. The owners hire store attendants who are not knowledgeable on the products that they sell. If you need help, or ask questions, they appear lost and will suggest something random. And, the products that are sold here are indeed overpriced, you can find a better price at a store like Walmart, Target, or Amazon. The hair that they sell for wigs, sew-in's etc. is also poor quality. A lot of time I regret my purchase after coming here. FYI, you cannot legally require a customer to provide ID when completing a purchase, Visa and Mastercard prohibit this. That's a wild, discriminatory practice. If they ask, tell them no, and they still have to complete the purchase. To the owner: How can you morally profit from a predominantly Black customer base, while remaining ignorant of their hair care needs and simultaneously discriminate against them? Overall, it's a weirdly isolating and aggravating experience shopping here, but sadly, it's the most convenient when in a pinch. read more

This is an updated review revised and updated since my last one was 7 years old. As always I'm in my tried and true favorite beauty supply store going on 15 plus years and this store almost always has what I need on this long continuous road of black hair care I need a lot to maintain this fro and Bixby Beauty Supply has it. Located in a huge lot near the Post Office across from House Of Pancakes. The staff at is nice and the store vibe is chill whatever you need they'll get it for you or you can browse and shop till you drop. My visit was for braiding hair Rast Afri is one I often choose it doesn't smell or hurt my fingers and the price is great more importantly for synthetic hair I trust using this brand I originally bought 3 packs ran out came back and bought 6 more for the next time I need it. Shampoo and Conditioner by far are the best finds in this store they have so many for all hair types my go to is Cream Of Nature or Cantu tried and true products that keep my hair soft and conditioned and I'm sure the brand you like is her as well. There are hair bonnets galore in here for black women and men if you know you know we keep our hair tied and secure at night this brand is my favorite because it fits my big head and stays on while I sleep. They have beads and a huge variety of hair art to choose from located at the back of the store perfect to add cuteness on braids or dreds. Store prices are reasonable it's a one stop shop of braiding hair bundles weave supplies regular hair care product wigs makeup eyewear salon supplies curling flat irons pressing combs and so much more. Come shop here! I despise using Amazon for my hair care especially crochet braids the stuff they send is trash I always send it back quality products are found in local stores not online. This used to be my go-to beauty supply, but after today, they've officially lost me as a customer. I came in to exchange a product I bought just two days ago. I shop here often and have never had an issue, but this time the cashier wouldn't budge without a receipt -- even after I explained I'd literally just bought it here. Fine. I gave up, bought the correct product, and was ready to leave. Then, out of nowhere, another employee jumps into the conversation that was already over just to "remind me" of the policy -- dripping with attitude -- calling me "girl" like we were friends and sending me off with a "Girl, bye." Yes... she actually said that to a paying customer. At that point, it wasn't about the policy -- it was about the lack of basic respect. And I wasn't the only one noticing it. Another customer was also complaining about poor service while I was there. If this is the new staff and new standard, I'll gladly spend my money somewhere that values its customers. read more

I called ahead for Parnevu Leave-In conditioner and they said they carry it! I have been using this product for 10 years before it became impossible to find in person at physical stores and I have been searching for it ever since. Amazon has them listed at ridiculous prices and from untrusted sellers and I was eager to find any store that carried them. They were $4.95 each so I got 2 of the original containers and 1 different one. I have very porous and damaged hair from bleaching and I SWEAR by this stuff to heal it from the inside out and bring moisture back into it. Thank you ladies! This store sells synthetic hair and tries to pass it off as human hair. I paid over 70 dollars for 1 bundle of "human hair" and attempted to bleach and dye the hair, the hair did NOT lighten at all even after putting strong bleach on the hair. I informed the manager immediately and they did nothing about the hair, the money I paid and did NOT give me store credit at all. I love this place! I come here all the time for my wigs and the girls there are so sweet and helpful. They also have a rewards program which is cool since a lot of wig places that I know of don't have programs like that. The wig quality is great, I usually just get the synthetic lace fronts and they last me about a good month, but if you take good care of them I'm sure they could last even longer. I really wanted to love my extensions but I'm so disappointed with the quality. I paid $130 for the Bobbi Boss Clip on 7pc 100% human hair extensions. They look very real and the color blends well but the extensions feel sticky and they get extremely tangled. I tried the care instructions on the back of the box to see if they would help but it did not. After one week of owning them, and wearing once, the clip stopped working and wouldn't snap so I had to come back and buy clips. Now another clip has stopped working so I had to replace another clip. read more

I just got fired from here the other day due to me requesting 5 days off of work to take care of my mother and her 2 year old toddler because she's having abdominal surgery. I'm 17, and my mom is having surgery out of the county, so of course i would have to go with my mother. the owner had asked me if i could stay with relatives after i profusely explained to him that my mom has having surgery, and needs help and needs to be taken care of, along with her 2year old son. In the interview, I told the owner that my mom would be having surgery, and that I would be needing those days off. he said we would talk about it, but i didn't think it would lead to me getting fired. I just want to make you all aware that if you come in the store to shop at 6:55 (when the store closes at 7) that the employees might not be getting payed, as we don't receive payment after 7, and before 10. I really like this beauty supply store. Every time I go here, I am able to find what I am looking for! They sell hair, wigs, cosmetics and pretty much all of your hair care needs. The staff is helpful and available to assist with any questions you may have. The store is easy to navigate and well organized. I was able to find Aunt Jackie's hair products which was a major plus for me!! Make sure you sign up for their rewards program, especially if you end up going there a lot. I stopped by looking for crochet individuals, I was told by Lupe they only had a few left up front in a box that were half price because they only had a few colors left. I go to the register to pay Genesis she ring them up for 4.99. I said that's not half of 8.49, she turns the box around and says there 4.99. I said no the other lady said they were half price. I was told come back tomorrow talk to the manager. I go today the manager say if she say she told me that the. She would honor it. She claims she called Lupe on the phone and she said she did not tell me that. I said really I'm come and tell you that lye for .75 off a pack of hair and she got loud with me. Believe everything you read and hear about this place. It is absolutely awesome! But customer service is by far the best I've seen in a very long time. And you know how beauty supply shops can be. I bought human hair for braiding at 59.99 per pack for 20 inches. And, the hair was blonde. Now you know how expensive it is when you need anything longer than 18 inches - and blonde at that! I've been going to this beauty supply for years & it literally is my go to!!!! But today it was different and it sucks. I walked in and there was two younger ladies working the counter that I've never seen before and there was no greeting whatsoever. I'm walking around the store picking up things and looking at my list on my phone. The younger Hispanic girl was just standing at the opening where the hot comb case is and was just staring at me. I can see if she asked if I had any questions or if I needed help but no, she just stood there staring at me as if I was going to steal. I would recommend this beauty store to friends and family. Customer Service: Outstanding customers service. The staff greeted me as soon as I entered the store and both employees were very knowledgeable as far as the different hair care lines sold. The owner/manager offered me a complimentary cold drink as I shopped because it was a hot California day. The customer service alone was enough to make me a loyal customer. After coming from Seattle where many of the Black Beauty stores are Korean owned and the owners used to follow me around like I was going to steal I was pleasantly surprised by the customer service.
