Really disappointed by BJ. The owner Bob and his daughter, Chelsea, are incredibly nice and do their best to be helpful. Unfortunately, Bill, the person who comes to service our pool, is an absolute disaster. Bad enough that he's routinely rude to my wife. That alone is sufficient reason for BJ to lose our business. Now, in addition to being rude and surly, Bill didn't properly service our pool when it was closed at the end of 2017 or when it was opened in 2018...leading to an additional charge this year to clean the filter mid-season because it wasn't ever done at closing or opening. Incredible. Rudeness. Surliness. Bad service. Count us as former customers. Really too bad. read more

Terrible customer service. After leading us to believe the total cost for a "drain and clean" to get our hot tub up and running would be about $250. We were charged $350 for 2 hrs of work and was told it would require another 2 cycles which at $175/HR would cost over $700. The tech was very nice but did not conduct $350 worth of service. When I explained our issue to management, I was told it was communicated to my wife (it was not) and we "knew" what we purchased. At no time was a written estimate given and they even admitted this was not done on purpose. So it essentially was their word vs ours. I walked out feeling swindled and their management made no attempt to fix or come to resolution. Recommend you seek service somewhere else or get an estimate in writing (they will not do it but you can try) before using this service. read more

BJ Pool and Spa just helped us with a repair on our spa that has been a long time coming. We inherited the spa with the purchase of the house 18 months ago and it has been steadily leaking. The warranty company (who has also been great) sent out a company and the experience was lackluster for many reasons. After a few months of trying to get them to fix the spa, the warranty company told us to get a second opinion and let them know. Adam came out to assess the issue with the spa and was able to identify a few problems AND talk to the authorization people with our warranty company in under an hour. He fixed one issue on the spot and ordered parts for the other fix. A week later, we got a call from the office to reschedule Adam to come out as the parts were in. He came, fixed the spa and patiently gave me a crash course in chemicals. We were advised to keep an eye out and see if any other leak issues arise now that the major leak is fixed, but I can't tell you how great it was to work with a company who was quick to assess the problem, straight forward with pricing and the issues needing repair, willing to educate us on how to care for the spa, and who didn't need to be tracked down about coming back for the repair itself. Night and day between BJ and the original company we talked to! We will definitely be calling them again with any issues and I'm sending a note to our warranty company to suggest they enlist BJ in their coverage! Thanks, BJ Pool and Spa and Adam! Had a wonderful pool inspection with Bob, really happy with the experience.

Above and beyond customer service. Three days before a Memorial Day weekend pool party at our house we couldn't get our pump primed. We tried unsuccessfully for days. Called 7 pool companies for help-- including our own servicer-- all booked. BJs was booked too, but Chelsea was willing to do what she could and arranged a FaceTime call with Bob to walk us through trouble-shooting. Bob kindly, generously, expertly walked us through possible solutions to our problem-- all over video call-- for almost an hour. He was patient, professional, industrious, and competent. And he got it working! We weren't even clients! What a help and relief it was to get the pump running. And then Chelsea called several hours later to check on us. Unbelievable service. Couldn't recommend more highly. read more

A few years back had Bob come to repair an electrical problem. Came out promptly and fixed it but the repair only lasted for a few weeks. Turned out the problem wasn't fixed and after new repairs and costs he fixed the electrical problem which all in was over $1500. But even still they could not fix the program and yet each time I was surprised that he was adding up the bill for each visit to fix the same problem. Although he never fixed it he tallied an additional $800 which I refused to pay because he milked me for doing the same repair it took him extended trips to get right. The rates for his visits are higher than a lawyer and he doesn't stand by his work. I recommend staying away. I know I will. read more

We've been down the list of nationwide pool companies, and have been so disappointed with their service. My pool needed pretty much a rework of all the filtering and pump equipment due to age. Contacted several companies for quotes. BJ's was in the middle ground pricewise, but 2 of the companies were also sky high on their estimates. These guys removed all the old equipment, put in a new concrete pad, & installed all new equipment. They started on schedule and finished when they said they would. Bill from BJ's did a great job and is very professional as is everyone else there at BJs. Bob (the owner of BJs) even found me a replacement for my outdated fiber optic light which had not worked in years and had been discontinued by the manufacturers for years as well. I received excellent customer service from this family owned and operated business. Their products are priced slightly on the high side, but the overall atmosphere of their retail showroom is professional and inviting. The company also services spas and pools, and I have both my pool and hot tub serviced by BJ pool and spa. I have never had any issues with their in-field servicing and have had excellent care thus far. An excellent company! I would recommend them to anyone with home-pool or spa care needs. read more

I had beach day pool and spa service my hot tub in the fall last year. Adam came out and did a wonderful job. He took the time to explain to me everything I needed to do as the new owner of a hot tub. He did not try to up sell me on products that were useless. I truly appreciate that period later in the Winter time I had an issue with my hot tub. Chelsea at BJ Pool and Spa told my wife they would do their best to get a new hot tub installed for Thanksgiving, when family was visiting. As we got closer to the date, it looked more or less impossible. This was disappointing, of course, but that would be the end of the story. This is our first interaction with BJ Pool and Spa. Nothing particularly unusual. Well, what Chelsea managed to pull off was pretty spectacular, so I thought I'd share: She communicated with us along the way, explained in different conversations why the installation would be delayed. She expressed regret and was apologetic. Then, she got creative and found a solution, on her own, which involved a number of people all pulling together - at various steps in the chain. We were really pleasantly surprised when she and a whole crew showed up early the Day after Thanksgiving, with our hot tub, ready to be installed. She was not looking for kudos -- far from it. She was apologetic for being a little late! This is unusual. Service businesses that go out of their way to offer good service are unique! read more

BJ Spa and Pool have performed service on my pool over several years. Initially, they opened and closed the pool as well as provided biweekly cleaning services. There were never any issues. Over the past few years I've self maintained the pool but they still open and close. They are reasonably priced are responsive to any concerns that I might have. ***One more thing worth mentioning: Long story short, an object was left in tall grass after the opening. I hit it with my lawn mower. BJ's compensated me 100% to replace my brand new lawn mower. That says a lot about their integrity. read more

I am extremely DISAPPOINTED with the service I have received. They came to diagnose a leak 7 days ago and upon my return from vacation I find that they left the hot tub cover stand disassembled as well as the ENTIRE APRON OF THE HOT TUB! Screws and bolts strewn about is what I returned home to see. I had to call them repeatedly on the day they were scheduled to arrive to see what their diagnosis was...4 messages later at 650pm on a Fri they told me they cannot find the leak. read more

Be very careful in working with them on older CalSpa hot tubs. Obtained their name from Cal Spa web site as a servicing dealer. We don't believe they correctly diagnosed the problem and cost us more than $1k in repairs and parts. After spending $1K, the hot tub still did not work correctly, and then we had to spend another $175 on a service call 30 days after initial repair, we were told another $800+ in repairs were needed- we decided to throw the hot tub out. Interesting that they quoted a price for $700 for removing the hot tub but did not mention anything about the brand new $400 pump motor they just put in and would take out and reuse/resell. Had the hot tub removed for $375 by another company, took out the new motor they installed, and resold on ebay for $250. You do the math on this one and decide if you want to call them for repair work read more

I've had many pools and used many companies over 20 years. I found BJ Pool after my last guy retired. I've used BJ Pool for the last 5 years and they have always been responsive, helpful and never try to upsell like many others tend to do. They are friendly when you call the office, and they show up when they say they will. They pool always looks great after they open it and they have installed a new sand filter and pool heater for me over time. I have recommended them to clients who have pools and will continue to use BJ Pools in the future. read more

I contacted them because our hot tub had a leak. They arranged to come by at 9am on a particular day, I waited and waited but after a few hours they still hadn't come by. I called and left a message but I didn't get a response. I stepped out to run an errand at my daughter's school and was gone for about 45 minutes. When I came back there was still no sign of them and I was home for the rest of the day. I had another company coming to take a look so it wasn't a big deal. A few days later I get an email saying there were all these things wrong with our hot tub, my first question was when did the repair person come by? I emailed them back and asked when the person came by but never received a response, the only thing I heard back was the minimum it would cost to fix the hot tub. What's stranger is that when the other company came by I showed them what the BJ's repair person said was wrong with it and they were surprised the person could determine all that without actually looking underneath the hot tub. (the hot tub is on a deck so there's no way to look underneath without lifting it up). A month passes and I receive a bill saying my payment is overdue (I had given them my credit card info so not sure why my bill was now overdue). In short, I was left with more questions than answers from BJ's. read more

I wish I had read some of the negative reviews before getting involved with this company. We switched because they were closer and more convenient. They seemed okay at first, but when they opened our pool, they were more than sloppy, as one other reviewer mentioned. They left our pool a mess, claiming they only spend 30 minutes to clean and that's that. They way over charged us. They left all the debris from the pool cover all over our freshly power washed pool deck. And they left our pool cover balled up in the grass. The other company we were using, which we've returned to, charges less, leaves the pool sparkling clean, and cleans and folds our pool cover. Finally, they are fairly unresponsive and unfriendly when trying to ask questions and schedule service. read more

I have worked with BJ Pool and Spa for a few years. They've opened and closed my in-ground pool and provided repair services. I have found the work to be adequate, but a bit sloppy. For example, when they were repairing the vacuum, they used pool noodles to prop a part up to dry. To get to the noodles, they took out all the toys in the closet and left them scattered all around the ground. When I called to let the company know about this, Chelsea immediately got defensive. This has been a pattern every time I've called with a question or concern. It's unfortunate because I started using them when I stopped by the showroom and had a great experience with their staff. Despite the other reviews here, I found Chelsea and her dad Bob to be hard to work with. I won't be using them again this summer. read more

I am writing this review on multiple sites so no one makes the same mistake I did. They were very helpful when it came to me buying the spa but my experience since hasn't been so great. I bought a hot tub in January of 2016. When they were delivering the hot tub, it fell off of their cart and broke off a few piece of acrylic on tub but lucky not where water would be. Instead of them having to throw away the tub and have me wait for another one to be delivered, I asked if the damage was repairable and if they could take some money off of it since they were going to scrap it anyways. They did say it was repairable but only took off about half of what I was asking but since they said they would repair it as soon as it was warm enough I agreed. And since it was so cold old they said they would come and do a full check of the tub (every side, part etc) to make sure nothing else was damaged. This was a big mistake!!!! I have had to call them dozens of times, showed up to the store a dozen times, and keep getting told that they will get right on it but a year and a half later, my hot tub is still damaged. It is usable but paid a lot of money for a tub that damaged and will likely stay damaged. So be careful with this company as they seem to say whatever to make a sell but will not follow up on anything they said they would afterwards. read more

Adam came out, during the scheduled appointment time, and he found the problem within seconds! He had our spa running within fifteen minutes! We have used BJ Pool and Spa for years to open and close our pool and they've always done a great job. This year, we decided to refurbish our pool. It had a cantilevered deck -- no coping -- which is the wrong kind of pool deck for an area that freezes in the winter. Over the years, when the ground froze, the concrete deck moved enough to push out the tile around the inside of the pool. We got bids from several companies for a complete overhaul -- new tile, new plaster, etc. Most of the bidders said that the entire pool deck had to be replaced and the bids were about $30,000. BJ's said they could cut the concrete all the way around the pool and install coping to allow the deck to expand and contract in the winter without pushing out the tile. Their bid was $15,000. The pool rehab was completed last week and they did a fabulous job. It looks like a brand new pool! I couldn't be happier read more

i came here a few years ago looking for a swim spa for my mother. they spent a lot of time answering my questions but didnt quite have the features i was looking for that was in my budget. i went to several other places before scrapping the idea. last year i made a BIG MISTAKE GOING TO PREMIUM SPAS in fair lakes. i did find the tub i wanted at a price we could afford but everything after that became a nightmare (review is posted). chelsea, marena, bob & beau have bent over backwards helping me get things right when they had no obligation to help me. they have been HONEST, helpful, friendly, pleasant, informative, professional, patient & understanding. i cant thank them enough!!!!! i have since been getting products & services from them & will continue to do so. they show a lot of pride, integrity & respect in everything they do & i appreciate that. they have fixed my problems & have given me peace of mind. you cant put a price on that.
