I had a hard time deciding between 1 and 2 stars. I have had fun here in the past inspite of the smoke that fills up the place. I would go there more often it it was smoke free. Since the bar is only about 1/2 mile from my house, I often think, should I stop by for a drink and 90% of the time don't go because I don't want to be exposed to all the smoke. The bathrooms are completely disgusting, so I avoid them when possible. I hear they are moving to a new location, and wish the owners would be courageous enough to go smoke free, or at least one or two nights a week with no smoking. I had a great time there on a Wednesday night at BJ's! I got there a little early, so there wasn't much going on but it livened up soon enough. There were at least 12 dancers ranging from tight bodied twinks to big muscles types. There might have been one or two that weren't up to par, but the rest were all 8s and 9s. No issues striking up a conversation with any of them, and, while several mentioned the private dance rooms, I didn't feel any pressure to do that. I got the impression some of the dancers were straight, but comfortable with gays. There was none of that I'm-just-here-for-the-money attitude from any of the dancers. They were all very pleasant. I did get two private dances at $20 each and enjoyed them both, although the first dancer was much more enthusiastic than the second. The bartenders, Adam and Lance, were both very friendly. As for the facilities, they bar was clean and spacious, the bathrooms were clean, and there is a nice little patio off to one side. They also have three pool tables and a Golden Tee Golf machine. And a fireplace. It's much more roomy on the inside that in looks from the outside, or Google Street View. The music was at the right volume. There was nothing exceptional, but not the dive bar I was expecting. The crowd was well behaved, mostly older gay men, but there were also some younger women, and a few younger men. At it's peak, on Wednesday, there were probably 30 customers in the crowd that night. The crowd was friendly and I made some new friends. I would note that late in the evening, there were a couple of odd customers that caught my attention and convinced me it was time to leave. Finally, as I was leaving the woman on the door helped me arrange my Uber ride. All in all, I'd give the place a solid A. read more

The place has really become more popular over the past year. You'd go here for something different (people, environment, etc.), to watch go-go dancers (fairly attractive, but few would make it on the cover of a model magazine), and just to have a good time with friends without some the pretentious dancers that walk around at Swinging Richard's. My biggest complaint is that it's pretty small, and since they allow smoking indoors, the place can get a little smokey. But it's not any worse than any of the other bars around town that allow indoor smoking. It's not the nicest venue, but I seem to care less about that when it comes to this place. read more

The owners have no concept of customer service, if you have any issue with the bar, you are wrong and they are right. Don't let the door hit your ass. They exploit the dancers, making them pay $30 per night just to work there. The drinks are among the highest in gay Atlanta, also their selection is very shoddy, many popular brands like Smirnoff and Skyy, they don't carry. If you have any complaint to make, they will boot you out. The dancers have been gradually going down in quality over time. Save your money. read more

Went 12/12/2014 and paid $5 cover each to get in and bought three alcoholic drinks. We ordered a sprite for our DD and they charged him $4! We talked to an owner (silver haired guy) and was told that the Sprite would be comped but only because we complained about it. We left and won't be back. What a rip off! The door person/female tried very hard to make it right but the owner didn't want to. Not a business model for success. Bj Roosters.Great place just to relax after a long day.Little smoky sometimes(I,am allergic to smoke).Bartender (Lance especially) & the owner are really nice and makes sure your drink is filled up.Nice billards tables. Very nice dancers(I am picky in the type I tip). Problem is on Friday & Saturday you have to fight the crown at Tara movie threater in finding a parking spaces. read more

I loved it, my friend Nick took me to BJs for my birthday. Hot Hot Hot, i loved the place.

After my second drink I asked for a cup of water and the bartender told me it would be four dollars. When I clarified that I wanted a cup of tap water, he told me all of the water behind the bar was the same price. He then gave me a plastic cup and invited me to have as much water as I wanted out of the bathroom sink. Of the six dancers I saw, only one of them looked like he actually worked out. This bar is not gay friendly. All hot dancers are straight and when I asked for lap dance they saying busy but just sitting in chair or playing billiards which I observed many times. Such a terrible experience, please don't call it as gay bar. Also one more thing is that all the dancers will talk and give respect only if we old 50 and above as I think they assume they can get money only from them......not sure why it is called gay friendly bar. I have been about three times, but will not return. I thought several of the dancers were really cute, but most of the cute ones are not interested in making money I guess. I tried to speak with a few of them about a private dance and they just seemed disinterested. They seemed more interested in hanging around friends and a few regulars who obviously were not tipping. I've been here a few times since moving. The bartenders are slow, the dancers are mediocre and mostly straight. They get all their good reviews from friends of the staff and dancers friends. I don't like the way I was treated, but old men who spend money are fine doing what they do. I'm a good looking middle aged male, and I guess we don't belong. Dancers were lame. Maybe they're good by ATL standards but not other big cities. Also the smoke is horrible. I realize smoking is allowed in bars in ATL, but this place wasn't even that busy and the smoke was unbearable. They obviously have no ventilation system for that. read more

Hey, it's a bit of a trashy gay strip club bar. But have to say...the staff was beyond friendly. The drinks were beyond stiff and the fun was beyond expectation. Don't go expecting the Rtiz...it is close...go expecting the ghetto and you'll be presently surprised!!! read more

This was by far one of the lamest experiences I have ever had for a night out. Only a couple of the dancers actually attempted to dance. The rest just stood there looking bored. Let's cut to the chase. BJ's is not a stripper bar. It's a bar with male dancers. The bartenders are friendly as well as the dancers. There is no pressure from the dancers to tip them. If you get their attention they'll come by and introduce themselves and maybe strike up a conversation with you. No, they are not the quality of dancers that you might see in other large cities (or Swinging Richards), but they're hot, approachable and friendly. The drink prices are reasonable and there is never a cover even on weekend nights. It's good for an entertaining night out once in awhile. read more

This bar can be VERY SMOKEY. Because of that I don't go there as much. I can't imagine it being very healthy for the staff and customers who don't smoke. Other than that, it's a nice bar and has nice dancers. read more
