We were returning to the Bay Area from Oregon on I-5 when my Dodge Durango began to overheat on upgrades. After struggling for an hour, I pulled over and called for a tow to nearby Yreka. There was also a 21-foot RV that we were towing, so I was imagining all sorts of dire outcomes trying to get both to the Bay Area. I called every auto service shop in Yreka and struck out. Everyone was "super busy" and wouldn't be able to check the Durango for weeks, so I turned my attention to Mt. Shasta City, south of Yreka. A mechanic there, Larry's Mobile Repair, was busy but highly recommended Bjers Auto Repair, saying the owner, Steve, was honest and highly capable. I called and Steve said to tow it in and they could take a look at it THAT DAY! We went to lunch and checked back to find that Bjers had diagnosed the problem (a thermostat stuck open) and repaired it. We then drove back to Yreka, picked up our trailer and returned to Lake Siskiyou in Mt. Shasta, camped a few nights, then drove home to the Bay Area. Steve and Bjers were massive heroes who salvaged our camping trip. I can't recommend them more highly! read more

I came back... and confronted the owner very politely to have a conversation about it. I took my car in for an oil change and I had water on the floorboard passenger side interior I also could not get my hatch open. Later that day I picked up my car paid my bill of $250 and went home. The next day I observed more water on the floor on the passenger side inside floorboard. Read ing not very happy I returned the car so he can fix it he located the drain tube that was causing the problem and blew it out plug was fixed no more water on the inside of my car. He said he gave me a discount because I had to return it but I still was charged $210 what discount! And my hat is still not opening I will not be returning my car to that man ever again all I know is that I paid him almost $500 for an oil change and a plugged up tube that I had to return the car twice to get repaired read more

Very nice office and probably the nicest customer seating area I've ever seen at an auto mechanic shop. And it is also a shop that sells handmade artful glassware; nightlights, necklaces, one of a kind refrigerator magnets. (The owners wife had a glass-blowing hobby.) I was also appreciative that I was squeezed in the same day for an inspection on my rear bearings, which someone had thought might need to be replaced based on a noise they heard. I came in to have it inspected to see if that was indeed the case, asking the shop to please check them, and simultaneously check find out the cost and urgency of the repair. The car was taken into the garage as I waited for the inspection, and I was told when they finished that the rear bearings repair did need to be done, but that it wasn't urgent; I could drive it another three thousand miles IF I wasn't driving far. As I was going to take it on a long drive and the quote did the repair was quite high ($700 parts and labor), I decided to get a second opinion from another mechanic. When he checked the car we discovered it didn't need rear bearings after all, and showed me that the rear bearings were just fine. This is the reason for the two-star rating. Either the mechanic didn't check the car albeit taking it into his garage and saying he had checked it, or whoever checked the bearings didn't know what they were doing, or the mechanic that said I did need rear bearings lied. Whatever the case may be, it didn't instill confidence in my referring anyone here. In fact the opposite. read more

Bjers Auto Repair is a highly competent and professional shop. I lost all my coolant when driving through the Mt. Shasta area and burned up the engine in my Toyota SUV. I asked the tow truck driver where I should take the car and without hesitation, he said Bjers...that they were the best in the area and honest people. He was right. Bjers replaced my engine with one that we bought from an auto dismantler. All was good until the new engine started leaking oil a couple of weeks after I got it back. It turns out the new engine had a crack in the timing chain cover that the auto dismantler didn't either notice or disclose. I called up Steve and he stood by his work. He even picked up the car from my house and installed another engine in it under his warranty. I was hesitant to try a new mechanic, but my old mechanic retired. My friend needed a new starter installed in his old Lincoln. Bejer did the job, and the Lincoln has worked well since. I took my friend's recommendation when I needed someone to diagnose why my old 93 Honda Civic wouldn't start. Bejer's said it was the computer, and they were very patient while I tried to find another that would fit. They warned me against scams on the internet but I had to buy from someone! I got scammed, causing the repairs to take even longer because I had to find and buy another computer, and Bejer was patient. He installed the computer and it runs perfectly again. I highly recommend Bejer's. And best of all, the price for the repair was fair. I was afraid to be cheated by a mechanic shop, but I did NOT have that experience with Bjer. read more

Take your vehicle here! Helpful, speedy, and seemingly super honest! We were ready to head home from Mount Shasta on a Sunday. Fueled up at the local Valero and went to start the car, the car started but no matter what we did, we could not get the shifter to move to drive. We were able to use the shift lock to pop it in neutral and reverse to move the van from in front of the pump. Here's the thing, garages aren't open on Sunday. So Dwight's towing (Dunsmuir company) got the van to Bjer's and we walked over just before 8 am on Monday when they officially open. The door was already open and here is why I recommend Bjer's--they had a full lot and they took a look first thing and we were on the road by 9:30/9:45 am. They didn't have to. I appreciate so much their speediness and help in getting us back on the road as soon as possible, especially since staying through to Monday means we missed a day of work. read more
