    The hole in my car they refused to fix after cracking the bumper

    I left my car with them for two weeks to get a new starter in it. When they gave me it back it had a big hole in the bumper. I asked them what they could do and they refused to do anything, claiming that it wasn't their responsibility to fix damages that occurred when they had my car. I gave them my car to increase its value so I could resell it and they managed to decrease its value. Unless you're willing to lose a lot of your money, find another auto place. I went there for a few years any time I had an issue. But I can't go back after they did this.

    The tire shop got me in last minute the day before thanksgiving. They were fast, professional and did a great job. I highly recommend them!

I was bracing for a huge bill, a huge delay, or both - small town, limited options, we all know the story. But after we dropped the car off and walked to breakfast, their tech called to inform us that while the flat couldn't be fixed, they had a lightly used tire in our size, and they could install it for a very fair price. They completed the work by the time we finished breakfast and walked back. Very grateful for their friendly and courteous service.

The car wasn't drivable, so we had it towed to Point S Mt. Shasta. Without even inspecting the car, the technician immediately told us we had to replace all four tires--even though they had all been replaced back in March. At first, he kept talking about the drivetrain. Then, after an official Tesla representative confirmed that replacing just two tires would be acceptable, they switched their explanation and said it was simply their company's policy. It was Friday, and they were closing for the weekend. They knew we had no other options. Their quote to replace all four tires was $1,200. When my husband asked if they could at least repair the tire or even just let him use or borrow the necessary tools, they literally went to lunch. They refused to help, even though they could clearly see we had a child with us. They even told us we had to leave their parking lot if we wanted to repair the tire ourselves. I honestly have no words. I was so frustrated. After that, my husband called three more tire shops in town, and every one of them told us to wait until Monday. In the end, he went to O'Reilly Auto Parts, bought everything he needed for about $100, repaired the tire himself, and we made it safely back to San Jose. The employee at the parts store even told us that we were probably treated that way because we weren't locals. Unfortunately, after this experience, Mount Shasta will always leave us with a very negative impression.

Shasta after Google…read moreMaps directed us to go up a detour route (Esperanza Road) with rough chip seal gravel. :( We called Black Butte Towing, and our driver, Dave, went above and beyond to help us fix the tire and salvage our backpacking plans. First, after we explained that we had gotten a ride to the McCloud Ranger station, Dave picked us up there without question. On the long and tedious journey back up to our car, his conversation and friendly demeanor helped put us at ease. A true professional, he was attentive and efficient with the tow itself. On the drive back, he made sure our car and our stomachs were looked after; he pulled into the parking lot of his favorite milkshake place to confirm that the vehicle hadn't slid sideways on the journey AND he bought us a sweet treat there, knowing the stressful day we had had. He insisted on paying. What a guy! As it had gotten late in the day, the tire shop to which we wanted to take the car wouldn't admit us (and didn't have a spare in a compatible tire anyways). Dave offered to drop us off at a hotel and remained flexible as we continued to explore our options. The grand finale? Just as our hopes were dimming to get the tire fixed that same day in order to attempt our summit, Dave offered to tow us to the nearest AutoZone, where we could pick up a cheap tire plug kit and try to plug the tire ourselves. That worked!! He patiently taught us how to install a tire plug, spending at least two extra hours after the original tow, all with a cheerful and positive attitude. Because of Dave, we were able to make it back to the Clear Creek trailhead late that same night, car camp, and attempt our summit early the next morning as planned. All in all, we were blown away by the customer service at Black Butte towing, and we could not thank Dave enough for the expert help and human kindness he showed us. 6 star review (if it were possible).

    Is the owner, Rick, charming? Yes. Does he explains everything in detail. Yes. Does he change…read morethings without contacting customer. YES. I had R&R rebuild my 1991 suzuki sidekick. $9000. They sent the engine to A & I. So initially when I decided to do this little adventure with Rick and Kevin all was well. I mean there were some red flags, like not getting back to me ever, everything taking FOREVER, and a bit of the mansplaining but I let it slide. When we started the rebuild Rick wanted to replace the clutch. He had a certain one in mind which was higher performance. We also assumed new alternator and starter as both were failing. So I called every few weeks and it was taking a while and then the day finally comes and we go get her. Rick shows us some stuff and off we go. We are supposed to put 500 miles on and come back. We get home and park. There is oil dripping out everywhere. I call and they tell me that they started it without an oil plug in and it blew clean new oil all over the engine. No, they didn't clean it up but I can bring it back and they will. Next day I try to start it to do that...won't start. When it finally starts it is making a horrible squeal. Shut it off immediately. Call Kevin and he says I should have it towed in. I should. They came and got it after I was like nope dont think so. So before they come get it we are looking under the hood...they didn't replace the old ass starter, the alternator ( original 1991) or the clutch. I ask Rick about clutch and he says to me, i couldn't find the one I (he) wanted. Im like wtf. I ask about the other things and he says if we did all that it would be too expensive. So I want these parts replaced. I think asking the customer WHILE YOU HAVE THE ENGINE OUT might be your play but Rick didnt think so I guess. So my partner goes down to shop and says hey...we want the new parts but we dont think we should pay shop time just pay parts. This is because, again, they had the engine out, they could have called us to ok parts or not but chose not too. The next week I talk with Rick about a time line, he says has to order parts. I call the next week he says parts will be in Tuesday. So I call back (parts should have arrived Tuesday I call wednesday). Kevin says it will be three more weeks. I ask why and he talks about getting it back on the lift etc. I mention to Kevin what Rick said about parts in by Tuesday so why 3 more weeks and Kevin gets upset says he can have Rick call me but I noped out of that because at this point Rick is being a dick about the whole thing. So Kevin calls my partner the next day to say car is ready. No idea what happened to 3 weeks because he didnt call ME about MY vehicle even though I am the only one who has signed anything or paid anything. Whatever. I call Kevin back to get the total.... $960...wtf? Partner calls Rick and he literally has a little tantrum on the phone (it was on speaker phone):and says fine you dont owe anything. I would have left it there but my partner went down and paid for the parts that they jacked up (doubled) the price on. So my take on the whole thing is that Rick and Kevin are nice if you never challenge them or ask them to take responsibility for anything they fucked up. What a shame. Hard pass on this place.
