I've been going to BJs ever since an uber driver told me about him. When I first took my Chevy cruz (I know) it was just basic stuff, but when it started getting more serious he'd explain all the details and the process to me and show me the prices of parts on the computer. The last time I went to him with that car he told me he wasn't going to fix it. Not because he couldn't, but because he said it would cost too much and that I should just use that money on a down payment for a new car. He even went out of his way to tell me about the government funding to salvage my car for a better price than just junking it. Him and his wife have always been very sweet to me (they gave me some mochi donuts once cuz I was stuck there until my car was fixed) and have never taken advantage of me. I asked him that once and he said "I don't have time to do that. I need to fix real issues." He's a real one. I was able to convince him to give me one of his embroidered hats. I wear it every time I go now, just for maintenance on my "new" Honda Fit (which he also inspected for me before I bought it). 10/10 would recommend. read more

Started out with diagnostic due to misfire. From this point on communication was very brief and very little to no info was given to me about what was going on in detail. Had a p0300 misfire and that was the only code . Keep in mind 4 months prior I hade coils , wires and plugs replaced . I was told that 3 plugs and 1 ignition coil was need ed . So at this point I feel that all spark plugs should be placed instead of 3 . Then I come in to pay and seen my invoice that an extra spark plug was added and receptionist said ignition coil was good and bj told me personally about this ignition coil being bad. At this point for diagnostic and 4 plugs my total was 600$!!!!!! Now I wasn't able to talk to bj because receptionists didn't seem let me or came out when I tried to talk to him . As I left I felt my car still misfiring slightly disappointed. I brought the car back and was told to leave it leaving the car overnight. I received a phone call the next day saying they wanted to replace the other four spark plugs that should've been checked and changed when I first got the diagnostic. I told him that all the spark plugs were new and they told me that they didn't look new the first four plugs that were bad. Why would you change for spark plugs that were bad and not need to check the other spark plugs. I was told they will change the for spark plugs for another 200. Wowwwww! Not only that I was charged $50 for gas that I didn't even approve for and I showed up with half tank so I don't know where all the gas went then I was charged extra on my bill because they were charged 3% on credit cards does BJ do good work yes I will not take that from him, but I do not appreciate being jumped around. Money is hardly earned and I feel a little bit of disappointment specially I've been in the neighborhood for a long time. I definitely will not be back. I'm $$850 in for eight spark plugs. And still have not talk to bj about my car in detail and specifically what previous work was done and specifically what he had done just a bunch of miscommunication and overcharging from my standpoint 850 for 8 spark plugs should have been half that !!!!!!!! They for sure will try to rip you off and for sure charge you double then what the job really is not trustworthy on the diagnostic and will charge you double what the job is worth the story is exactly how I posted it. nothing more nothing less the job was complete. He did a good job on my vehicle after the fact, but I was double charged for this job and the receptionist not cool. read more

They replaced my brake pads when a different shop recommended I needed to do the rotors too. But they were gonna charge me double and my rotors were still okay. I've been here a couple of times because they're quick and their work costs are fair. I remember I had an issues that was an error on my part and they didn't charge me for diagnosing the check engine light. They even checked my oil since they were already under the hood. I have been going to BJ's Auto care for 6 years but his service has gone downhill. We take 4 cars to him for service and now we will take 0 cars to him. To start I took my minivan to him and he changed the radiator hose. It was still leaking and when I took it back he said "Oh the hose is leaking." I said but you just changed the hose and says "Oh I meant the thermostat housing and a belt." I left the van for him to fix and I asked him about a smog station that was a Star Station because I also needed to smog my van. He said when you come pick it up I will give you the name of a place you make take it. I specifically said o.k. will it be done in enough time today to be able to take it and get it done today? He said yes. When I came to pick up my van, BJ was not there and his mechanic John was. I asked John for the name of the place to take it and then John says "Oh no you cannot smog it now because I disconnected the battery which cleared the computer so you will have to drive it at a certain speed for certain miles to reset the computer before it will pass smog now. I said what do you mean? John then says well BJ did not tell me so or else I would not have disconnected the battery. Now I have tried to drive it the right amount of miles but it has not been enough. BJ then said leave it here and I will drive it the right amount. He then keeps it for 2 days and calls me saying I can't get it to reset the computer. I explained this is unacceptable and why did you allow John to disconnect the battery knowing I was going to smog it? He then says " No we didn't disconnect the battery." I said yes you did because John told me he did. Now I have a car that won't pass smog unless I drive it at a certain speed and a certain amount of miles. This has caused me so much trouble besides the fact I found out he never even changed the thermostat housing and just fixed the leak on the hose that he had fixed supposedly before. I spent over $500 and the problem is still not solved and I can't smog it. This is complete negligence and I will not take any vehicle to him ever again. Bad business! read more

The owner quoted us $500 something to change the suspension so we said ok do it and then he said he was going to do an oil change too so we said ok because how much can an oil change cost? Well when we went to get out car our total came out to $800 something . That is ridiculous. If we had known an oil change would be $300 we would've said no and did that shit ourselves. read more
