I brought my brand-new tire to Best Auto Care for replacement and wheel alignment. Jim Li, the shop manager, informed me that the service would take a couple of hours, but it ended up taking four hours. However, I didn't mind because I didn't need the car at the time. The total cost for one tire replacement and wheel alignment was $190. The mechanic noticed that the rear right wheel was denting and was causing the tire to wear out, so he advised me to replace it as soon as possible. The auto shop is located in a nice neighborhood and has a spacious waiting area with plenty of chairs. I think they did a good job.

Car sitting for 1 hour just for tire rotation!

Had a leaking tire due to a screw in it. Came here and got it fixed right away in under 5 mins for $30! Would come back again!

Asked them to take a look at one of my tires because it was losing air. Said they're too busy.

It was quick and easy. $59 which I'd gladly pay given that I didn't have to wait. I was in and out within 15-20 minutes.

Ask the Community - Best Auto Care

How much does it cost for a full new transmission for a 2012 Ford Explorer?

Can you send me your car VIN number? Thanks

Jim - can you give me a range of cost for this work and if I agree, set an appointment for your return?

Sorry I am out of country. I can’t get internet service. I can get estimates when I come back. If you didn’t get it done already.

Are you able to replace a coolant overflow receptor on a 2013 BMW and ensure ample mix coolant/water in radiator?

Yes we do. But we are on vacation till August 14.

They're friendly and professional and do what they can to get people through their shop quickly (it really is roughly 15 min per car unless there's a special situation). They even have snacks and drinks on hand and a tv to help pass the time comfortably! Keep up the great work Rainier and team!

I had a really disappointing experience at Clean Air Smog and would not return…read more From the moment I arrived, the customer service was hostile and chaotic. The employee immediately started barking orders at me and other customers ("go inside," "fill out this form," "put it on your dash," "leave your car running"), and seemed visibly stressed and frustrated the entire time. He also repeatedly directed customers to walk through the active shop area, which felt unsafe. Customers were being told to navigate around equipment and tire rollers used for smog testing that were on the ground, creating an uneven and cluttered walking path. It seemed like an unnecessary trip-and-fall hazard. After waiting about 10 minutes, I returned thinking my car was finished and tried to mention that I had a coupon. Before I could even explain, he snapped at me to "GO WRITE IT ON THE CLIPBOARD IN YOUR CAR." When I tried to clarify because I thought he already had my paperwork, he interrupted me again and said, "I HAVE A LOT OF CUSTOMERS TO TAKE CARE OF." Later he called out "Highlander!" and when I again mentioned the coupon, he barked, "SAVE IT AND YOU'LL SAVE $35 -- simple math." I had no idea what that meant because no one had explained anything. Then he handed me paperwork and told me to "drive it around and bring it back." He never explained that my car hadn't failed due to a mechanical issue -- it simply needed to complete a drive cycle so a sensor could reset. When I asked if the car passed, he aggressively responded, "NO! DO YOU WANT ME TO SHOW YOU?? HERE, I'LL HIGHLIGHT IT FOR YOU!" and literally snatched the paperwork out of my hands. When I asked why it didn't pass, he just kept yelling "JUST DRIVE IT AROUND AND BRING IT BACK." I eventually took my car to my regular mechanic (who doesn't do smog checks), and within seconds he calmly explained what Clean Air Smog should have told me in the first place: I simply needed to drive on the freeway at around 65 mph for several minutes to activate a sensor. That basic explanation would have solved everything and avoided this entire interaction. Instead, I was met with poor communication, aggressive behavior, and an unnecessarily antagonistic attitude. To make matters worse, I was charged $91.75 instead of the advertised discounted price of $56.75. I'll be disputing the charge with my credit card company. There are plenty of smog shops in San Francisco -- I'd strongly recommend going somewhere else.

In & Out Auto Glass in Bayview is hands‑down the best auto glass shop I've worked with in the bay…read more I'd already had a different car serviced here previously for a windshield crack, so when a freak accident caused a pretty severe crack on the windshield of a newer vehicle, I knew I could trust them to take care of me. They walked me through the confusion that comes with going through insurance, explained everything clearly, and got the replacement windshield ordered quickly, with it arriving within just a few days. As soon as it came in, they called me and said I didn't even need to schedule an appointment; they just told me to come in first thing the next morning. I went in around 10 a.m., and by noon they called to let me know it was done, well under the original 2-3 hour estimate they gave me at drop‑off. The whole process was super easy, everyone was friendly and professional, and most importantly, the craftsmanship is excellent. The new windshield looks and feels like it is right off the factory lot and while I haven't yet had a chance to validate the recalibration of all of the sensors I have the utmost confidence in the quality of that work as well. I couldn't recommend In & Out Auto Glass more highly if you're in need of any glass‑related repairs.
