I spent $2600 out of pocket to have my cataract replaced with a Vivity lens that was supposed to…read moregive me good distance vision and decreased halos at night. What I got was an eye that cannot see clearly from 6 feet+. What happened? The doctor said that he made the decision to make my eye nearsighted because I had lasik surgery 20 years ago. This new plan was NEVER discussed with me prior to my surgery. I would have never approved this, as i wanted clear distance vision and was prepared to wear glasses for reading. What I'm left with is vision that requires glasses for ALL distances! And the lens cannot be removed and replaced. So I'm out of $2600 plus I have poor vision. I pursued a second opinion from an expert doctor in another town and he said that he would never have put a Vivity lens in my eye. And to make it all worse, Cornerstone recommended laser to remove scar tissue on my lens capsule. This was a simple procedure and I had not yet received my Second Opinion. Following that surgery, I had absolutely no improvements in my vision AND I had a negative side effect of increased floaters and a dangerous side effect of increased eye pressure and a chance of retinal damage and loss of vision! (Vitreous prolapse). At my followup for the laser surgery Cornerstone did not even talk to me about the vitreous prolapse! Stay away from Cornerstone Eye Associates! They did not listen to my wishes (which were clearly charted) and they did not take responsibility for my botched eye that is permanent!

Called Barb at Dr Smith's office and she immediately put me at ease. Was able to get in to office quickly where Dr Smith repeated tests and everything came back normal. He has great bedside manner and was sympathetic to my anxiety and nerves. Thank you to them for helping me through a scary time.

Twice I have received an appointment confirmation email from their scheduling program Klara, only to arrive at the office to be told that my appointment was canceled because the doctor was doing surgeries that day. I never received a text, email or phone call about any such cancellation. The first time this happened the new practice manager assured me she would get the situation in hand. The second time was over a year later, the practice manage was at a different office that day, and I declined to reschedule.

Dr. Lindahl answered all of my questions. He was kind and thorough. I had cataract surgery on February 26, 2026 and March 13, 2025, am seeing like I haven't in years and need no glasses. He is an excellent surgeon! The women who work with him are wonderful! I got to meet Maggie, Beth, Laura, Denise, Angie, Kim, as well as Deb and Monique at the front desk. Thanks to you all for your kindness and care! Most businesses these days are more concerned about the bottom line than the people that come to them for help. Not here! This places is EXCELLENT. Very warm, caring & patient, and they truly offer state of the art, exceptional care. I have unusual eyes, and have had these kinds of exams administered over 20 years in 4 different states. Rochester Eye Center is the best I've experienced .... the types of exams I have to have are tedious and uncomfortable to have done every year, and with the care I receive at Rochester Eye Center, I have grown FAR more comfortable through the years. I'm hoping all of my review really gets across how well they take care of their patients. It's rare for me to offer five stars, so when I do, it means I really wouldn't change a *thing.* And that's how I feel about Rochester Eye Center and Dr. Heiligman.

Two weeks later, we went to get new glasses, and the person fitting him just put the glasses on, and that was it. My son told him he had trouble with the right eye, and he dismissed it; said give it some time, and then come back if you still have trouble. We did, and was told that there was an issue with the right eye, to make yet another appointment. Come on, how many appointments does this place want you to make? In addition, he was misinformed regarding the new glasses as you could NOT adjust them as they did not fit his face properly. Well, we are going to America's Best to get this straightened out because there is no way we will ever return to Reed. I would definitely stay away.............really wish I had.

When I said that to one Dr here, he said he would transfer me to a different Dr. in the practice! Just because I needed something explained! One has told me something different every time I see her. She also "forgot" me. Her tech came to clean the room & was surprised to see me. I've worn glasses since I was 5, so I've been to several places (my last one I was with for 30 years & he retired). You will wait for hours!!
