Our server was very nice and helped with recommending the different pizookies We got the Chocolate Chunk (basically chocolate chip) and Salted Caramel. Both came with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream on top, and Tuesdays the normal size only cost $5/each. There are also mini sizes but you won't get them for $5 on Tuesdays. This is typical American bar/pub food, but better than a pub. There's lots of seating for the amount of people that come. It's always busy, even at 10pm. The crowd is also younger, a lot of high school aged people come here I would like to come again for another pizookie and try one of their other flavors. read more

This personal follow-up was far beyond what I've experienced at other places when similar mistakes happened. Though it doesn't change my review, I'm hopeful they'll strengthen their allergy protocols, so this doesn't happen to someone else. Original Review below: _________________________________________ I don't usually write negative reviews, but I feel this one is important for anyone dining with a serious or unusual food allergy. We had family visiting from out of town and met at BJ's for a family dinner. My sister has severe allergies to both nuts (including coconut) and citrus. We explained this very clearly to our waiter before ordering. We even talked about experiences at other restaurants where we've been told something contained "no citrus," only to later discover it contained lemon or orange. We specifically explained that this is not a preference or sensitivity -- it is a potentially life-threatening allergy, and she carries an EpiPen and allergy medication. Our waiter took it seriously and genuinely tried to help. He checked the restaurant's allergy information on his phone and, because citrus wasn't specifically listed, went back to the kitchen to ask about individual items. My sister ordered salmon, and we specifically discussed replacing what I believe was a lemon-butter sauce with a sauce that would be safe for her. When the food arrived, the sauce didn't look right to her. Thankfully, she was cautious and tasted just a tiny amount with her pinky rather than eating it. She immediately thought it tasted like lemon. The staff went back to check and returned to tell us that, yes, the sauce DID contain lemon. Even more concerning, the salmon itself appeared to have been seasoned with lemon pepper -- after we had gone through all of this explaining a severe citrus allergy. Unfortunately, my sister did have an allergic reaction. Her eyes became swollen and her throat became itchy and scratchy. Thankfully, she did not have to use her EpiPen, but she needed Benadryl and eye drops and ultimately had to leave. The manager came over and asked whether we wanted to file a complaint. We declined at the time. Our waiter was gracious throughout and seemed to be doing everything he could, so this review is not intended as criticism of him personally. The problem is the system between the allergy information given to the server and what actually comes out of the kitchen. A guest with a potentially life-threatening allergy should not have to personally taste-test food after explicitly telling the restaurant what could harm them. I understand that citrus may be a less common allergy, but when a restaurant says it can accommodate a severe allergy, the kitchen needs to be able to reliably do so. If it cannot, it is much safer to tell the guest that upfront. Unfortunately, after this experience, I would not consider this location allergy-friendly for someone with an unusual or severe allergy. It's especially disappointing because family gatherings like this are exactly when we hope my sister can enjoy a meal with everyone else instead of having to bring her own food. Overall, the food was good and the atmosphere was enjoyable, and our waiter genuinely tried to help us. Unfortunately, none of that can outweigh what happened with a potentially life-threatening allergy. After explaining the citrus allergy in detail, confirming ingredients, and specifically requesting substitutions, my sister was still served citrus in both the sauce and apparently the seasoning on the salmon -- and she had an allergic reaction. That is why, despite otherwise enjoying the restaurant, I can only give this experience 2 stars overall. For someone with an unusual or severe allergy, I would not consider this location allergy-friendly. read more

First timer at this location. The wait time for 2 people was 25 minutes on Tuesday night. The hostess told us to go to the bar area. Once there, it took 5 minutes for someone to clean the table, another 10 minutes every time the server came by for us to order drinks, food, dessert, and the food took some time to come out. I give them the benefit of the doubt that it was a busy evening, however, we will not be sitting in the bar area again, even if the hostess tells us. Food was delicious! Just another BJs out in Corona. The location is nice with a lot of parking and other businesses in the area. The menu and everything is obviously the same as all the locations. I usually wait for the bar area seating since there's no waiting there. I was craving a decent burger with fries on this day and I saw the Bacon and Brisket Burger and decided to try that with a Sour Dough Bowl of Broccoli and Cheddar Soup. The soup was pretty decent and enjoyed working my way from the outside-in by using the soup as a dip for the Sour Dough. The burger was just ok, the meat was dry and bacon was a little too hard. Service as I've been seeing in lots of BJs has just fallen significantly as no one seems to care or be wanting to work shifts. We stopped by for a late dinner and ordered a variety of dishes. We enjoyed our meal. The only thing was that the ribeye steak was overcooked, but our waiter took it back and brought us a delicious medium rare. The customer service is great. There is half off on the wine list on Tuesdays. They were busy so took over a half hour to receive our meal. The interior is put together nicely with plenty of tables and booths, and big-screen TVs to watch your favorite sport. There is also outdoor patio seating. I asked for Smiley fries instead of regular fries before he left our table. However he had already entered our order so he sighed and said "I already entered it? Three of us went to lunch here and enjoyed the food- one had the BJs tavern cut classic pizza and two of us had the smash burger special with the pizookie. The pizza was a good size with plenty of toppings and very tasteful and the smash burgers were excellent, the meat was fresh and well cooked and the cheese and seasonings perfect. It was really busy in the restaurant tonight, so I understand service being slow. It *did* take over 15 minutes to get menus in the bar. Food was fine, though our waitress was pretty much MIA the whole meal. No one ever asked if they could refill our drinks. And then I ordered my personal pizookie. Over the last couple of months, the pizookies have gotten progressively less cooked. This time, the whole cookie was raw except for the absolute outside edge. It was soup with absolutely no cooked crust on the bottom. The waitress tried to tell me the texture was because it was hot out of the oven. I'm a baker, I understand the difference between raw and cooked. It took another 15+ minutes to get a new pizookie which was actually browned on the top and relatively cooked. They're such small cookies surrounded by a metal pan--I really don't understand how it's so hard to judge when they're cooked. read more

I spent over $100 on a to-go order this past Saturday early evening, only to discover the biggest BUG/INSECT and/or ROACH buried in my Caesar salad. It's been a while since I been to Bjs I went for my sisters birthday. I will have to update my review to 4 stars. I ordered the spaghetti, which was $25. The portion was on the smaller side and the pasta was a bit dry. Honestly, this place can be hit or miss depending on what you order. Warm inside. Where's the cool AC? This heatwave is so bad. We need a nice, cool, place to enjoy a meal. We were sweating the entire dinner. No bueno. The food was good. The appetizers are always my favorite. I love the spinach and artichoke dip and the mozzarella sticks. We got the sampler platter. I got a salad and added salmon on top. The salmon filet was thin. I wish it was bigger and had more meat. That's okay, I guess. Salad itself was fresh. My husband got a burger and enjoyed it. My mom got a veggie bowl, and my dad got steak. BJs as an entire corporation is diabolical for thinking it's okay to terminate the white macadamia pizookie. I'm not sure who is responsible for this decision but surely they could've done literally anything else to their menu. Anyways. This BJs gets extremely busy, so sometimes you're not quite sure what you're going to get. There have been several times when I've gone and they run out of certain dishes like the calamari. :/ however, I did decide to visit again recently and was really pushing my luck with how sleepy and tired my kids were.
