It's been years since we've been to a BJ's. The last time was in Orlando when we had some friends/family visiting. We don't remember being overly impressed by the Orlando location. We have friends in AZ that go all the time for takeout. Sooooooo, we signed up for their loyalty club online and it came with a free Pizzokie, so, why not give them another try?!? Well, we were impressed right off the bat when our server, Devin W, came by to introduce herself and welcome us. Devin is friendly, professional, informative was there when needed. We started with a very fresh house salad ($6), a tall, 22 oz, Chocolate Porter ($10) and some waters. We ordered the Bone in Wings (10/$17.49) that were fall off the bone delicious. Smoked, then fried. We did a rub with sauce on the side. Delicious. We also ordered the Salmon Dinner which was cooked to perfection. The food was delivered by another very friendly and personable young lady. Truly delightful staff. For dessert we had to have our complimentary Salted Caramel Pizzokie (reg $9). Omg, we shared it, it was enough for 2 and we scraped the plate. The Pizzokie was delivered by another gentleman and he too was very nice. We were delightfully surprised by the outstanding food and service. Devin W and company were outstanding. We were thanked by someone on our way out who may have been a manager. We let him know Devin was great. Oh, yeah, they have a full bar and a crazy great beer selection on tap and bottles. We'll be back and we'll highly recommend BJs to our friends and neighbors in Daytona Beach . One last comment for management . The "suggested gratuity" on the bill does NOT include the Loyalty Reward. The gratuity should be based on the total before the reward is removed as a gesture of gratitude to your staff. read more

Well, it started out ok. With a projected hour wait we were seated in about 40 minutes. While waiting I had a delicious Berry Burst Hard Cider from the bar which was crisp and fruity and served in a frosted glass. The restaurant is beautiful with high ceilings and interesting brewery artwork. It was busy. We are a large party. Everything was basically ok until we got our appetizers and ordered dinner. Then no one came back. Everyone at the table ran out of drink. We noted the time... finally at 25 minutes with no drinks we should have just left, but instead I called the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager. I gave him our table number and explained what was going on. He was nice and said that shouldn't be the case. We disconnected and for the next 5-7 minutes we had people running around bringing food--all of it--salads and entrees and the whole shebang. Some finally asked what everyone was drinking, and got drinks and those servers were excellent. But then we eventually ran out again. Again a very long wait. They were out of root beer when we got there. Then we were informed Pepsi and Dr. Pepper were both out. It was just a train wreck, seriously. The food was good. Steaks, salads, soups, burgers, all reported good, but not great because they had very obviously been left sitting. Our table was piled a mile high with dishes as glasses and we ordered dessert. No one ever pre-bused our table or made any effort to do that until finally I asked. Even with all that--I'm a forgiving person--but the manager never bothered to come out and speak to us. After a particularly rough day at work, all I wanted was a really good meal... and wow, did this place deliver. We kicked things off with the deep nacho appetizer, and oh my goodness... sooo gooey and good. The cheese was melty, salsa hot, and they definitely did not skimp on the guacamole or sour cream. A fantastic way to start the night. Next came margaritas and their house-made hard root beer, which honestly felt like exactly what the doctor ordered. The happy hour is a great deal--$5 margaritas and call drinks, plus $1 off drafts--and let's just say the good vibes carried us all the way through dessert. LOL. Food-wise, everything was cooked perfectly and clearly made to order. We had a salmon bowl, a tri-tip wedge salad (so good), and a BBQ-style burger loaded with fried onions and bacon, served with crispy fries. Every bite was flavorful, fresh, and completely satisfying. And then... dessert. We ordered the strawberry shortcake, and it was delightful. The cookie was hot, buttery, and literally melted in your mouth. Paired with fresh strawberries and a sweet strawberry syrup... yum. The perfect ending to a great meal. Service was great, friendly, and perfectly timed. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed, though there were a few screaming kids... which felt a little out of place. Not really a kid spot in my opinion--take them somewhere they would enjoy... like home... with a babysitter (kidding... mostly). So I struggled with this one. To start, I don't love reviewing chains but we did have a good time so here goes. Our server was top tier so that really helped. She was attentive and helpful. The wings were perfectly cooked as was the ribeye. We even tried three of the Pizookies and they were all exactly what you would expect from a cookie skillet. My only real issue was presentation. None of the plates were wiped for serving and the signature vertical scoops atop the Pizookie were all melty and fallen over. The best thing we ate was the Cali Chicken Club. Our lunch was a mixed bag - mainly unpleasant. . The chili was terrible; neither the beef dip sandwich nor the chicken Caesar salad were very good. The best thing about our lunch was the large portion of romaine lettuce in our salad. Hmmmmmm. No matter what the young and loud waitress says, do not expect a thick meaty bowl of chili. We were served a thin virtually meatless sauce with a small dab of sour cream on top. It not only had no meat, the taste was very unpleasant. Inedible. The beef dip sandwich was stacked with salty thin-sliced meat. The sub roll was fresh and the fries were hot. The main takeaway was salt - both the beef and the au jus were just way too salty. The Caesar salad was a large bowl of romaine with a smattering of croutons. We gratefully accepted the other older wait-person's offer of more dressing - she obviously knows how tiny their small metallic ramekin serving are. Nevertheless, the dressing served was not to our liking. Our original waitress was not only oblivious to what good service is, she disappeared for most of our meal. Embarrassingly for her, she made no inquiry about whether we enjoyed our meal as she finally returned to clear our plates including the full, untouched bowl of chili. Any reasonable service industry employee would have noticed and asked - not our poor ignorant waitress. Bless her heart. Overall, we had a pretty lousy meal - we were not impressed. Highly doubtful we'll be back anytime soon. read more

This review is strictly about ambiance and cleanliness. Parking in the back and seeing the filthy trash area, and back gate area into the restaurant was nauseating. Went to the restroom and it was dirty and no toilet paper. First time here and we were impressed! The restaurant is huge with tons of seating and plenty of TVs--perfect for watching the football games. We tried the dry rub wings and WOW... easily some of the best we've had in a long time. So much flavor! If we weren't heading to dinner later, we definitely would've ordered more. Always a favorite when flying into/out of Daytona which we do several times a year. Love their gluten free cookie and I don't usually eat gluten free. Good burgers and salads. Not spectacular but good. Wait is usually less than 10 minutes, for the times we have been. Convenience to the airport big plus for us. We didn't expect to eat at this sort of place, a small chain, but it was very convenient for us. One day to stop in for a lunch. The menu is quite large and varied. Same for the beer menu. I had a very nice dark beer that was made in the house. I had a deep dish pizza and frankly, I forgot what my wife has but we were all very pleased. Oh, we both had some sort of combo special That included a small dessert and altogether it was a wonderful meal for a decent price. We chose to sit at the bar as we like to socialize with our bartenders, we just moved to the area and like to talk with the locals to find things to do and just get a feel for the area. Brie, our bartender didn't really seem like she was interested in anything other than serving us drinks. I think it may have been one of her first days there, so I can cut her some slack for that. How-ever I believe the other bartender's name was Devon and she was more concerned about cashing out HER customers than she was anything we needed. There was a moment when Brie smelled a mixer for a drink and asked Devon to smell it and her response was just serve it. Not sure what it was but I do not want to drink anything a bartender has asked another to smell for freshness. when the runner brought out our food, she asked if there was anything we needed, since I order the Chicken Alfredo, I said yea silverware would be nice. I also ordered a house salad which never came out, they did take that off my bill, but my husbands food came out on nothing more than a lunch tray which was dirty. While the food was tasty, it was pricey even for happy hour. At the end of our experience there were way too many things that occurred there that We will not be going back again, and unfortunately for Brie the tip reflected that. Kristin C. The full time bartender is phenomenal. I do not know anyone in the area but she has given me a place to belong & call home. Bjs has exceptional food as it is but their amazing staff puts the experience over the top. I originally came for the food but I return now daily because of Kristin. She is knowledgeable, welcoming, and a listening ear that always turns my stressful day around. I don't feel like just a paying customer but I actually feel like a friend and a member of the family. The laid-back but comfortable atmosphere seals the deal for me personally. Every aspect of the restaurant is always clean from the parking lot to the bathrooms . There is a wheelchair accessible ramp leading to the bar area as well as two alternate, regular entry doors, other than the main revolving door to enter the facility in the very center of the front of the building. We were seated at a booth in the bar, and ordered a flight of Margaritas! Perfect tasting to pick one or just enjoy. We had beers which were great and ordered wedge salads. They were the right size, like a side salad and the taste was awesome. We ordered a California Chicken Club and split it. Food and service were great. The downside was the booth we sat at, the bench seat was completely ripped up. That should be fixed ASAP. I would highly recommend this restaurant to family and couples. Sometimes all BJ's are not alike. It's a pretty consistent chain but this one had a much more paired down menu than the other locations we've visited. We stopped in around 10p on a Monday as most of the other places in the area were closed. Since it was Monday, we decided on the 1/2 off Deep Dish pizza. It's a good deal at $10, but the $20 list price is a bit much for basically bread with cheese and tomatoes on it. The tomatoes were kinda strewn about like someone was driving around the speedway throwing tomatoes out of the window onto the pizza. It was thick and bready and could have had more flavor. The bottom was crisp and buttery which was a plus. The Wedge Salad was pretty good. It was a small wedge of iceberg lettuce with bacon, blue cheese, and all the other wedge toppings. Stopped in on Thursday night during fall bike week. Had high hopes for the pizza. Got our order in for a couple of beers, a water and a large pizza. Pizza was finally delivered by someone from the back and it wasn't hot. Pan was just slightly warm to the touch. The pizza had very little cheese even though I had asked the server if they had plenty of cheese on them because I wanted a lot. My husband was out of beer and our friend was out of water. We ate the first piece with no drinks and no Parmesan cheese with no waitress in sight. My husband had to go to the bar to get an additional beer and the cheese. We were so hungry so we ate the cold pizza because we couldn't gain our servers attention. At that time we could see her at the end of the bar chatting with a young man who worked there. When she finally stopped by, over half the pizza was gone from two starving men, and we told her it came out cold she never offered to do anything about it. Our friend never did get any additional water as our server never offered to refill it or bring him another one. I was so disappointed because the pizza could have been good if it had enough cheese on it and if it were hot. And, the added hassle of having to get our own drinks and our own supplies. I've always been a bit underwhelmed by BJ's. The menu is pretty diverse and the staff at this location was super nice. I had a small filet that was cooked well but so salty I could feel my BP rising as I was eating. My companion had ribs which were a bit tough. First we walked in and was seated very fast. Then we got our spinach dip and chips, we then tried it and the chips were stale. But then the very kind waiter gave us another Batch and still they were stale. But then not to long after we found a hair in the spinach dip and the very kind manager Jesica gave us cuscus and Mac n cheese bites in replace and they were wonderful. Then we got our food and I got the mashed potato's and Mac. It was very good and cheesy and the mashed potato's is definitely my favorite at bjs. And my family also liked there's. We then got some Desert. We got the trio one and it came with 3 different ones of our choice. We got the Oreo, salted caramel, and white chocolate macadamia. I thought it would've looked like a Chili's or an Applebee's but it was a little bit more upscale. The burger and the fries were good. The steak was flavorful but almost too salty. Unfortunately, the sauce that came on top of the steak was cold and the vegetables were cold. The dessert was really good but it took almost 30 minutes to come out.
