In town again for work and decided to try this place again since they are now in a new location. They moved from a smaller location on Beach st about 3 weeks ago and are now on Atlantic Ave in Ormand Beach. The larger location suits this place. They are still in soft opening mode so they do not have their full menu but for the food they do have it does not disappoint. We got the meatballs for an appetizer and they were excellent. I also got the pollo parmigiana but grilled not fried and the portion was huge. Wish I would have had room for desert as they looked amazing but was super full. Also we sat outside and had a newer server who was in training, did not get her name but she was amazing. The food and the presentation of the meals is a 10 ++. The lamb shank with truffle risotto was tender and flavorful. The carbonara which was made WITHOUT cream and should be made WITHOUT cream was so delicious. I love when it's made as it should be As for the ambience, it was nice and clean but I felt like something was missing, maybe giving it a softer vibe. Maybe mini faux candles on tables and bar area. They had a guy who played music start at 7pm. I would have requested more Italian songs to be played if we were there longer but it's a nice touch to have music while dining. After a long day at Disney, I was absolutely famished and came across Little Italy's Ristorante and something in my soul just needed to come here. I was a little scared about the reviews about poor service, long wait times, etc. but I honestly didn't care because those photos were enough to absolve the sins of the past. I have no complaints regarding service. My server Elaina was phenomenal. I've eaten out a lot this week and she was by far the best server I've had in all of Daytona. She was ON IT with refills, made me the best tiramisu martini to the point where I almost started levitating, and didn't mind my cranky and hungry kids ordering their food to come out with the apps. Elaina was an absolute gem and I really appreciated her hospitality and bubbly personality. The food was insane. Shout out to the chefs for curating plates that were absolutely masterpieces and had my taste-buds dancing with glee. I think this might actually be the best Italian food I've ever had. My table ordered an absolute SPREAD! Remember, we were dying after spending all day at Disney We got their pizza, a spaghetti & meatball, bolognese (GET THIS IT WAS SO GOOD), arancini, chicken piccata, fried veg & calamari and desserts. Our experience here was the same as many others. The food was good, but the service was unacceptable, especially our waiter. He was confused and confusing. He brought out water to 3 people and the other 3 had wine that had forgotten. Finally got our drinks 20 minutes later. One pizza order was brought out 15 minutes later. And then nothing. A runner brought out 3 dishes, after another 45 minutes. After another 45 minutes, we gave up and spoke to the chef and manager, and said that we were leaving. We were there from 6-9 and 3 meals were never served.. The server then had the audacity to put a 20% tip, which the manager took off. We were expecting a long meal because they were busy in a Friday night. But this one waiter was not qualified for this job, and is the reason for the rating, not the food! read more

The owner, Mario, went above and beyond by personally making my husband gnocchi Bolognese from scratch just for him--and it was hands down the best gnocchi Bolognese we have ever had in our lives. The outdoor seating was very enjoyable and entertaining as they had live karaoke on the night I went. Everything I tried was delicious, and came out fairly quickly. The Pera e Gorgonzola Salad dressing just seemed to be missing something flavor wise so I also tried the house dressing which was fantastic. Came here on Friday night. All the tables outside were dirty and waited awhile before deciding to just sit at the bar. This is def more of a local spot. We didn't really feel welcomed being here and felt rushed. We started with a salad it was okay just a bunch of greens with one small slice tomato and one slice of onion. Bread was served cold I think it'd be better warm. I tried the lasagna as it was recommended. There isn't much meat in it so If you like cheese lasagna this is the dish for you. The armatriciana dish is very large and just ok. They say the sauce and dishes are made to order but we got our salad and food within 10 mins. It wasn't anything special. read more

One evening we were enjoying the Beach Street park and Little Italy Restaurant caught our eye. There was someone singing and the food smelled great. We knew this was a place for us to try. Fast forward to today. We loved it. We loved everything about it. Our server Natalie welcomed us right away. She was genuine, helpful and joyful. When asked if we had been there before or if we were celebrating something special we answered why yes we were indeed celebrating. She explained their food is locally sourced and the sauces and doughs are made in house without sugar. Everything is made to order with quality ingredients. She knew her stuff. The meal - perfectly timed - came out at just the right pace and everything was delicious. Chef Mario came out to wish us a happy anniversary and ask about our meal. We enjoyed him immensely. You could tell he was passionate about great food. He explained his vision was a friendly atmosphere with great high quality food. Our visit was late afternoon so before the dinner crowd. The music was recorded this time but it was the perfect play list. We heard Mario sing along which made us smile and do likewise. We took a photo of the music schedule and look forward to coming back soon. It was more than a special meal it was an extraordinary meal which became a wonderful memory. One of our local favorites. The service is always incredible and they have fun outdoor seating with live music and karaoke some nights. Beach street is a great street so it's a great ambiance overall. The pasta is fresh the sauces are freshly made and you can tell the owner cares about the ingredients and flavor very much. We always get asked if we are enjoying our food. The seafood is always fresh and cooked well + you can't have Italian without a good wine selection. Great date night spot! read more

We decided to try Little Italy's Ristorante last night. It was a Friday night but we were able to find street parking. As we approached the restaurant we couldn't help but notice how the outside seating had taken up and blocked most of the sidewalk. There was live music outside. The hostess asked if we preferred indoor or outdoor seating. We prefer non-smoking, so indoor it was. The hostess seated us, instantly taking our drink orders and delivered them quickly. Then we waited. And waited and waited. As other patrons were seated and served their drinks. We then watched servers come back to their tables and take their orders. Even after making eye contact with the server busy chatting while taking the order of the table next to us, he just walked away. There were only two tables inside with seated customers when we were seated. And they left after our drinks were served. Then three more parties arrived after we received our drinks. The bulk of the patrons were seated outside. Not certain how their system works. Finally we were able to flag down a different server on her way from outside to the kitchen and after many apologies, she took our order. The food came out quickly and presented well as shown in the photos. However, the meatballs were a bit heavy and without much taste other than garlic. The pasta and sauce we're prepared well and the bread (second order is extra) was very good. All said, the food was average and once pointed out we had been ignored, we were served very quickly and attentively. But we didn't stick around for dessert. We might try Little Italy another time, but we will not bring friends or recommend until we give them another chance. read more

Had to do this while still sitting in the restaurant. Never have I ever had the owner of a restaurant make a dish for us. My girlfriend ordered the chicken Al pacchino based on a photo she seen on yelp. Unfortunately this was an older version and it has since been revamped. My girlfriend asked what was up, and without the slightest attitude his first statement was "would you like me to make it my original way??" Like if he knew exactly what was bothering her. Although shy she admitted it's not what she was expecting. The owner comes back 8 minutes later with his now discontinued dish special for her. He explained the change in the dish and we understood right away so there was no other complaint. She couldn't stop saying how much she absolutely loves the one prepped by the owner. I said all that to say this, thank you so much for your hospitality, professionalism, and character. We absolutely loved your restaurant and the food was delicious, def the best food I've had since I've been in Daytona. I'm positive you will serve this area for plenty of years to come. Easily the most unprofessional restaurant experience I've witnessed I've never written a Yelp review like this, but what I saw at this restaurant absolutely deserved one. I personally witnessed a staff member make a blatantly racist remark to an Asian customer after they politely mentioned their food wasn't right. Hearing "go back to China" in a dining room was shocking, and nobody in a hospitality setting should ever speak to a guest that way. What's worse is how the owner handles criticism. If you look at his responses under reviews here and on Google, you'll see a pattern: extremely defensive, confrontational, emotional replies where he talks down to customers, argues, and even tells people to "go to Burger King" or challenges them to come "visit him personally." No professional business owner behaves like that. It comes across as aggressive and honestly uncomfortable. Out of curiosity, I also checked their public health inspection history. Anyone can look up the records themselves, just search for the restaurant's inspection reports. There are documented issues that required follow-up visits, and the tone the owner uses online definitely doesn't help build trust around cleanliness or professionalism. Between the racist incident I witnessed, the extremely rude staff behavior, and the owner's unhinged approach to customer service, this is not a place I would ever return to or recommend. There are plenty of restaurants in Daytona Beach that actually respect their customers and run their business with professionalism. This is not one of them. read more

Always a delicious Italian meal. The service is always friendly and quick. The ambience is quintessential Italian New York. Most of the songs from Sinatra or Bocelli. I don't think they should charge two dollars just to change a house salad to a Caesar and especially not another $175 to add anchovies to that Caesar, but that is their policy. We spent one of our mornings in Daytona Beacg exploring Beach Street. There were a few intriguing options for lunch but we chose Little Italy because, when we walked by before they opened, one of their employees was hanging out outside and spoke to us and invited us to come back. We were impressed, especially in this day of "good help us hard to find" (much less ANY help!) that there was someone who was proud of where he worked and what he was doing. Our gut feeling was right on! I walked in expecting to see the traditional red and white checked tablecloths and was pleasantly surprised to see an elegant, minimalist, blue and white nautical theme with lots of wood and rope accents. A visually pleasing and refreshing change from the traditional "Italian restaurant atmosphere." Lots of nautical details down to compasses installed on the wall in the restrooms! They had just opened and there was only one other table seated so we got very attentive service. My gnocchi as well as the white wine I selected were delicious. I was in the area visiting with some friends and we found Little Italy Ristorante via Yelp. We wanted a sit down Italian restaurant to Carb up for pickleball tournament and we were glad to find this place. It's a small mom and pop sized restaurant that also has outdoor seating which is where we dined. The staff was friendly from beginning to end and always kept our drinks fresh. Lasagna- Meaty, cheesy, hot and tasty. Baked perfectly and I enjoyed this as my main dish. Carbonara - Delicious and highly recommended. The noodles were very fresh which really made the dish.
