Smash burger 8/10: added red onions and no lettuce which made it better to me. Also changed the American cheese to cheddar. Meat was cooked well and the brioche bun was soft. Met friends here for dinner, a total of six adults. The place was well maintained and the employees (host and servers) pleasant. Although there were quite a few people partaking around us it was not too loud and we could have conversations. I ordered the Crispy Jalapeno Burger (Fried jalapeños | pepper jack cheese | chipotle aioli | red onions | tomatoes | lettuce | artisan brioche bun) with a side (in lieu of fries) of their Garlic Roasted Vegetables, as well as a side House Salad. The burger presentation looked great and although I ordered it medium rare it was more medium+ when delivered. We were on a time crunch, so I did not send it back. The burger itself was still tasty, albeit not very spicy like I was hoping. The mixed vegetables were kind of weak and more well done than I had desired; nothing compared to the photos online or on the menu. I ate them, which were just okay, only because they were there. The salad however was fresh and crispy and a joy to consume. I debated, with myself, whether to give this review a 3 star (OK) or 4 star (Good). It swayed into the 4 star realm as the service was quite good and our waitress did not hesitate to split our bills 3 ways. Would I come here again? Visited once again and really enjoyed our meal. Our waitress was nice. It was a Thursday night and it was busy than expected but was seated within 25 minutes after arrival so not bad for a big group. My family loves coming here. We've celebrated NYE here before as family, plenty of Father's Day and birthdays, along with a recent visit with a friend in town. We usually sit at a high top in the bar area. My dad is a huge fan of the tatonka beer and is always disappointed when they don't have it. As sweet tooths, my mother, sisters and I are obsessed with the pazookies. The dessert is a must have. The menu is extensive so there are plenty of options to satisfy whatever you're craving. We appreciate when the hostess is available to seat us, but don't have a problem seating ourselves. It is great when the staff is patient with us and attentive. Our server Gabriella P. made our experience overall a good one as she was super-positive, friendly, professional, and accommodating. My wife had the Hickory brisket and bacon hamburger with the gluten-free bun. I had a taste and it was good. I normally will get a hamburger here; but, I took the road less traveled and got the chicken Parmigiana dinner. It was OK; but, I would not order it again. My Orlando family was very excited to have us try this place out as it is one of their rotating dinner options near their house, in the Loop. The cajun shrimp jambalaya dish tasted good but was considerably drier than similar dishes I've had in other restaurants. No sauce to spoon around but the flavor was there so it was good. I think the table in general had decent food but I don't know if January 1st was a tough day for them because they had two grievous issues that would make me never return to a restaurant : - the waiter was visibly impatient, not wanting to listen to what my brother in law was describing as a dish another family member had and if it was still on the menu. It wasn't a complaint or a tricky ingredient replacement, it was just a question about a possible dish that they may still offer. If the tip could've been drastically reduced we would have. It was not nice to see a worker in the service industry be so reluctant to be of service to my brother in law, who has gone there multiple times. - the fries were dead cold. All the fries. Dead cold, Every single plate had fries that had been left out waiting for food and arrived without a hint of warmth. I can't remember the last time that has happened to us anywhere, even in restaurants where we overheard there were staffing issues. There was no acknowledgment of the issues as they were served, which is sad, as anybody would immediately know upon touching them. So, because the jambalaya was nice and the rest of the food was decent, and the very boozy margarita was well presented, I can't give it a one star. But man, ice cold fries and an annoyed waiter in a city with hundreds of competing establishments, maybe they should stay closed for New Year's if they can't handle it. read more

Our visit to BJ's this past Friday was extremely disappointing. When we arrived, the host seated us right next to a very large birthday party. I politely asked if we could be seated somewhere else because the restaurant was almost empty at a little after 4 PM, before the dinner rush even started. The host told me that was the only seating available, yet I watched him continue seating everyone else on the opposite side of the restaurant. I completely understand that the birthday party had every right to enjoy their celebration, but we also had the right to enjoy our meal. The noise level was unbearable. We literally had to scream at each other just to have a conversation, and eventually we had to lean so close across the table that it became uncomfortable. They could have easily closed off that section for the party and seated the other couples somewhere quieter. I worked in the restaurant industry for many years, and I know this could have been handled much better. To make matters worse, the wait for our food was over an hour, which made the whole experience even more frustrating. I mentioned it to our waiter at the end because I honestly felt bad for him -- he seemed completely overwhelmed trying to keep up with everything. Overall, the experience was awful, and unfortunately, I will not be coming back. read more

I've been to BJ's plenty of times, in fact when I was younger, my family and I would go for my birthday to this specific location. I always have a great time, the staff has always been attentive, the food has always been good and consistent. Some nights it does get busy, but it's still a nice, very casual atmosphere. Plenty of TV's around the restaurant playing sports channels. I find myself coming just for the Pizookies on Tuesday nights, it truly is my favorite thing on the menu. I went on Monday evening with my friend and got the Cinnamon Roll Pizookie for free with the BJ's app. It was a warm and gooey cinnamon roll with a tasty cream cheese icing on top, drizzled with caramel. It was really yummy and a nice change from a cookie base. We got seated quickly and our server was very kind and attentive. They did mention the food was better than before. We went twice! It's got a real fruit flavor with the ting of apple, and just enough alcohol to mellow the mood. I'm a cider lover so this alone made me wanna hug the waitress. They now sell a 6-pack, but I couldn't fly home with it, so I single-teared up on the way out. Mozzarella sticks are perfection. Just the best amount of crunch, a lot of great tasting cheese inside, no crazy over pulling of cheese to hit ya chin, and the presentation made everyone at the table wanna take one. Get some. Calamari fried perfectly. Great seasoning that didn't overpower the actual seafood flavor of the calamari. More rings than tentacles, but I get it, not everyone likes that like I do. Tomato sauce was seasoned nice as well, and thick enough for a great dip. Cherry Chipotle Salmon was perfectly presented, and smelled divine. The roasted asparagus was great, the 'risotto' side confused me, cuz it looked was actually couscous, but it had nice flavor and tasty veggies in it that went great with the salmon and made for an overall lighter entree. Salmon was great, moist, and the glaze wasn't overpowering. There was just enough food on the plate, and I wolfed it all down, I forgot to ask if anyone else wanted to try it. Next time: Clam chowder. Yums! Creamy, chunks of clam bigger than the chunks of potato. I'm glad I followed my hunger curiosity and ordered it, it made me happier with every spoonful. Sweet Pig deep dish mini pizza. Tasty. Perfect size for solo eating. Honored that they understand there are some of us who like pineapple on pizza. Smoked ham, smoked bacon, jalapenos and a variety of cheese. Wasn't the best pizza, cuz hey, I grew up in NYC, IYKYK, but with a cold beer and some sports shit-talking at the bar, it would be a perfect choice. I'm gonna hunt down a location in the Northeast and maybe trek out to it to compare, but I really enjoyed the aura and vibe of this location and I just may make this my special go-to while in Orlando. read more

But - I've found it not to be too uncommon with a few other restaurants in trying to weasel a few more dollars out of customers. Waitress talks you into happy hour drinks, and then charges full price. I'm fairly certain she knew because she had guilt written all over her face when I quizzed her about it. Stammered around a little and then blamed it on the person at the register. Then she said they make that mistake all the time! ??? She had drinks on the wrong bill for other parties at our table. Conveniently forgot to bring a dessert that was included with my Thursday special, which was some type of ice cream. She offered to bring it to me after everyone else on our table got up and left! She didn't bring another dessert that someone had ordered and paid for (ice cream dessert also). When I told her that, she went back and picked one up and chased him to the door, and handed it to him in a paper bag. It would have been milk by the time he got home! Alissa was our waitress today and has to be one of the worst waitresses I have encountered while vacationing in Fl. She never introduced herself upon coming to our table, never came back to see how our food was, never brought ketchup, mayo, and ranch dressing that we ordered until we asked her. I had to ask her for more ice tea and she never refilled our water glasses. I had to ask her to remove our dishes that were stacked up when we were finished eating. Finally, she did come to our table and I had to ask her for our check. Another issue I need to address is how filthy the ladies restroom was . The stall doors and floor need a cleaning. I ordered the Hickory Brisket and Bacon Burger, which may have been good had my meal not sat under the lamps waiting to be brought out by the runner while our server Camila was on her phone standing idle on the floor; our HOT food should have made it out hot. If you zoom in on my burger you can tell by looking at the cheese alone it sat, sweet potato fries were cold. Same goes for my cousins Atlantic salmon, dried out... most likely because it sat under the lamps for too long, not because it was overcooked. The worst part is it wasn't that busy. It started picking up after. Then Camila brought out a to go container my cousin needed for her replacement meal (Parmesan-Crusted Chicken) extreme difference! Nice and hot. Came here tonight to have nice senior dinner and our server Joshua was just on something. As someone who also works in the restaurant industry I understand how hectic taking care of a large party can be. Joshua told us that he was the best server there and not to worry. That's when everything went downhill. He wouldn't take our drink orders until everyone was here and everyone was ready to order food. He said he's bring waters out for everyone in the mean time: Only brought out 6 glasses for 12 of us. Then after we order, multiple drinks came out wrong and we were also missing a drink (all nonalcoholic). Come time for food, he brought out a duplicate of an order and very rudely said "Well someone had to have ordered it." One of our seniors then told him that she ordered that food but she already had it in front of her. Instead of owning up to his mistake he was very condescending to the senior and walked off. My sandwich was also supposed to have fries and they were missing. Had to bring out the menu to prove that fries were included with sandwiches. He never came back to check if we needed refills, if the food was good, or even if we wanted to order desserts. The next time we saw him was with the checks when the next issue arose. Some foods were put on the wrong check and when we brought the issue up he got combative with us and continuously said "I don't understand why you're getting mad." Even after we've already paid, he had to audacity to approach me to continue to tell me that he gave great service and got defensive like we were in the wrong. I ended up speaking with the manager who tried to make things right by giving pizookie vouchers and telling me that Joshua was going to get a coaching. I will not be dining here again. read more
