Have been to both the Tyler and Longview locations and had good experiences at both. As a fan of micro-breweries, we were happy to find BJs after moving to east Texas. Food is very good and more importantly consistent. Last time we were at the Longview location, we had the best waitress, super friendly and fast! Only complaint was husband said they didn't have a big enough beer glasses. read more

We have been a few times now- for a dinner date, for lunch and dinner with our kids. It's always just okay. I'm not the biggest fan of chain restaurants to begin with, so you have to do a lot to impress me. I am definitely not impressed by overpriced, mass-produced food. The first time we shared a pizza and an order of tacos. They were good but nothing to write home about. I asked for a side of pizza sauce because the pizza seemed dry, and the waitress acted like that was weird. I don't really care what the cooking process involves- the pizza was dry. On the second visit I had the jambalaya, and my husband had one of the lighter fish choices over couscous. Mine was very good. His was just okay and not really that flavorful. The kids shared a kids pizza. (Our youngest is not a big eater.) With a BOGO coupon on our two entrees, water to drink, one kids meal, and a kids pazookie, our bill was still over $30 after tip. For lunch. That is just nuts. The most recent visit was a Monday night with the kids. Somehow they were out of large pizzas so ours came out as two smalls. No biggie. But they took about 40 minutes, and they were barely warm. The cheese wasn't even fully melted. We also ordered a burger to share and had to send that back because it didn't have all the toppings. There were obviously kitchen issues. Our server, Celeste, handled things beautifully, but she just couldn't fully compensate for the BOH shortcomings. The wait is usually pretty long, the service is friendly and decent, and the food, while good, is just not that impressive or even consistent to me for the prices. I couldn't stomach a full-price bill at this place. I would rather spend my dollars with a local restaurant or just cook at home. Either way, the food is better and usually more affordable anyway. read more

My sister was visiting from NY so my family took her here for lunch. Because I only had an hour lunch break, I placed my order first while my family pondered over the menu. I explained this to our waitress and asked her to bring our orders our as they were ready. Everyone's order came out 25 min later with our drinks. I was now out of time so I asked the waitress to bring me a togo box. When I finally realized she was not returning to our table, I decided I had enough time to scarf my food down and speed to work. I ordered the Fish Tacos. The tacos were so cold, they had obviously been ready to serve for a while. The fires were cooked in old oil that had been used to cook fish. I had never tasted fishy fries before and have no intention to again. This has got to be the worst dining experience I have every had. I am not sure if I would every be willing to give this location another visit. read more

From a loyal customer this is our 8th visit to BJs. It seems to get worse. This trip there were two major disappointments.........the food and the wome's restroom. Sservice always seems to be slow. On food, the Margerita flatbread was missing the basil and was soggy. The brussel sprouts were burned The women's restroom was filthy. My wife could not believe it was so bad. We complained to the manager (Nikki?) since it did not look like it had been cleaned We can say that our experience has seriously deteriorated over our 8 visits. So we have been coming for months, birthdays, you name it. But the last few times.. especially tonight was a game changer. We ordered a bbq burger with NO CHEESE, a jalapeno burger with no tomatoes, child spaghetti with knot, and 1 single chicken strip. The bbq burger had cheese, jalapeno burger had tomatoes, and no garlic knot with MINIMAL sauce on the noodles.. it was a joke. So we sent the cheesey bbq burger back, not even a minute later it comes back to us, without cheese & with way less bbq toppings. BECAUSE THEY SCRAPED IT OFF! How do we know? Found the cheese they missed and the burger looked pitiful. I didnt even bother anymore. Oh the chicken strip.. the SINGLE TINY CHICKEN STRIP for my 1 year old cost me $4. Yup. $4. We are now on the hunt for our new "go to" because this was the final straw. $50 down the drain... read more

The food was ok, but way over priced. We had a group of about 15, so the waiter, Dave, could've easily made a $75 tip. Instead, they brought out half our tables food so while that group was finishing, the other half was still waiting. Two of us, myself included, didn't even get our food. Never been to a BJ's brewery/restaurant before until recently. This place is amazing. There is a wide variety of food to choose, which was very nice. They had food that would please any person. Our waiter Brandon was phenomenally great. I had the guacamole bacon burger and my husband had the bison burger. Both were very delicious. Love love love the fries! After we paid, he offered to get us a drink to go, which I thought was very gracious of him. Hands down amazing place with great prices and the staff exceeded my expectations. I'd give the service 4.5 stars but the meal was not good at all. I had the Salmon and it was over cooked, tough and unable to fork cut in some places. The asparagus were not that good either. Not typical of BJ's as they're usually at least "good" with all their meal selections. read more

Went here on a busy night before Christmas. Service was fast and friendly, everyone's orders were correct, and we had a great time.

Complete chaos! Waitstaff running around In clusters and tripping over each other. We tried to orient ourselves to the huge menu but felt rushed by the waitstaff. They were training for about a week but still seemed lost and confused about the simplest question. Also the advertised happy hour discounts that were advertised in the menu were unknown to our waitress and when questioned she said she would find out but when I pointed it out in the menu she still acted like she didn't understand. Our bill also didn't reflect the discounts. My ultimate spaghetti and meatballs was warm outside and cold inside. My daughters baked ravioli was good and so was my wife's southern fried chicken. I am confused what this place is trying to be since there are so many selections that other than the craft beer everything else is mediocre. The prices are pretty high for what you get at 14.95 for spaghetti and meatballs I could get a better deal at Olive Garden or pizza king and get a salad to boot but here it's 3.50 extra? If your a beer connoisseur this is probably the place for you but save your money and eat somewhere else. read more

I'm only speaking for the bar here: I came in from Dallas to visit my family and forgot my ID on my way back from west Texas (I stopped at my place in Dallas) where I left a few things. When I told the bartender I didn't have an ID, the Bartender asked if I had a criminal record (apparently you can pull it up and they'll serve you). I told him I had my registered nurse license and pulled up my record on the tx BON. Apparently, it wasn't enough since it didn't have my birthdate, but according to the bartender, if you have criminal record they'll serve you. I know it's my fault bc i didn't have my ID but it's just sad to see if you have a criminal record they'll serve you, but if you have a professional record, it's a different story. read more

2nd time we tried this restaurant , 1st time was fairly good fish and chips were fresh and hot, 2nd time not so good. It took forever to get our food, fries were cold, fish was hot but soggy and greasy, my wife's fish taco had one tiny sliver of mahi,and my mom inlaws chicken was served with hard almost uncooked Brussel sprouts, not impressed at all unless you just want good selection of beer. read more

I love this place. The food is great and the dessert cookie is wonderful. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is always clean.

We got here and went to check in. The young man at the front desk was terribly rude and arrogant. The wait was terribly long - much longer than we were told. Then the service was slow. The server had no clue what the drinks were that were ordered and we had to show her the food items on the menu because she didn't know what we were ordering. The drinks took about 15 minutes. I'm still waiting for the meal and so have plenty of time to write this and perhaps read a book. Later this evening I guess I'll find out how the food is. Probably doesn't matter as I'll never be back. The manager was running around trying to calm irate customers down. He wasn't doing a good job. Let me encourage you to go somewhere else. read more

Sat at bar to have a couple beers and food. I've never seen so many servers on their cell phones. Bar tending service was below average. Cleaning to close at 9pm. Only 4 people at bar and I feel they made no effort to connect with guest. More concerned about chatting with coworkers than guest. I have been to many BJs in my life mostly in California but this was definitely the worst experience I've had at a bjs. I heard this is a newly opened restaurant but I think corporate needs to come back through and see what's going on. read more

Well. What an eventful night for my boyfriend's birthday. We wanted Thai food, but they weren't open, so we went to BJ's instead. We sat at the bar because it was crazy packed. Ordered an appetizer and our meals. All of a sudden, our meals were walking toward us, but the waitress delivered them to us from behind us in the busy aisle between the bar and the high-top tables behind. As the waitress was delivering my chicken pitas, someone bumped into her, she slipped on the floor, and dumped the entire plate into my lap, breaking the plate on my chair (or the bar, I couldn't tell which). It wasn't the waitress' fault, the manager checked on me to make sure I wasn't cut from the broken plate and they comped my tacos. But that's it. That's all they comped. I was cool about the whole thing too - I didn't yell, I didn't blame them for the incident - I accepted their apologies, drank my beer and paid the bill. I just can't believe they only comped my food and the manager was only concerned if I was cut by the broken plate. What would have had to happen for them to comp at least the appetizer also, which I might add came out *after* our meals? Getting cut by the plate also? I am disappointed by the whole incident. I won't be going back voluntarily in the future. Hey BJ's. You lost a customer. read more

My wife and I drive by here a couple of times a week and finally decided to stop and eat there. I have seen very few reviews that were so mixed, several 1 star to a few 5 star. To me a good restaurant is consistency This one hasn't reached that point yet, maybe being new is the cause. The first thing the waitress offered us was one of their 42 beers on tap. We are in our late 60's and shouldn't look like serious beer drinkers (for lunch). I guess that is their major push because they run from $7 to $10 a beer and are probably a good profit maker for them. Our waitress was attentive and friendly and we have no complaints with the serviced. The food, however, was just average. Not bad and not good. My wife had a soup and sandwich and I had a lime chicken breast on rice. Her sandwich was the best of all. Mine did not have a lot of flavor. Just average for a $10 lunch, quality and quantity. Summary: The place is OK but nothing to brag about. They have a lot of competition that is as good or better. read more

We ate here for the first time yesterday, for lunch. They weren't very crowded, but our waiter seemed to be in a rush to get us out the entire time. We had no time at all to decide on drinks (and the drink menu is about 10 pages!). The food was great. I had the Black and Bleu burger. I downloaded app because I want to write a true review about this restaurant. If there was another place to go tonight I would but it's busy because of graduations. When I arrived it's not as busy and there were empty tables...I told the hostess we need seating for a party of 12...she turned around and told a waiter to fix a group of tables for my party...she said it would be about 10 min...mean while another party came in and needed seating for 16...when the waiter finished setting up the tables...the incompetent waitress gave my seating to the party of 16....when I asked her why are they sitting before us she said oh we are waiting on people to finish so we can get your table ready...I said you just told the waiter to fix the table for us....an she continued to add insult with her ignorance...I felt over looked and truly discriminated against in this place....I have never in my life been treated so unfairly...I have never been a person to harp about racial discrimination but in this case it was so clear....20 min later we finally got a table....I can't even enjoy being with my family because I'm so pissed. read more

My family drops a hundred at this location once a week. Tonight however was horrendous. We are usually seated in the round booths because we are a party of 5 including a toddler. But, on our last two visits, a blind monkey with a severe learning disability could have seated us in more appropriate locations. The speakers above us blasted awful 90s music and we couldn't hear each other talk. Asked them to turn it down; they assured us they would and never did. We asked to see the manager and the manager never came. They brought out every meal except mine, which came 10 min late and was obviously hurriedly prepared. If you want ok food delivered at random times by incompetent servers and you are entertained by obnoxiously loud strip club appropriate music, this is the place for you. However, if you think that hundred dollar check should reflect some intelligence, class and halfway decent customer service, you'd be better served looking elsewhere. BJ's in Longview is apparently struggling with service. I have not had this much trouble out of any other BJ's that I have been to, or any other restaurant for that matter. Luckily they have a good craft beer list. Today, I ordered the bacon-guac burger with fries. Burger was good, fries cold. Person I had lunch with ordered the BLT twisted salad and California club with fries off of the lunch menu, and also the avocado rolls for an appetizer. We never got our appetizer. On the salad she requested bleu cheese. It came with no dressing. And her "club" come out as some chicken flatbread. Then after she told our server that she did not order that, he apologized and said he would fix it. Came back with a chicken sandwich type thing and the fries were greasy. Manager stopped by the table to apologize for the mix up, and asked if the sandwich was ok... But did not seem to really even care after she responded with a sarcasm answer of "it was fine." Now being in the service industry for many years, even in management, I have seen places struggle and go through numerous changes trying to get things fixed, but this is horrible. If I return, it will definitely not be for the food. Or the service. read more
