Came to Davidsons in hopes to watch the first NFL game of the season. There were no screens playing the game inside the restaurant. There was one screen playing the game outside. At the bar. It was beside the stage and was playing music very loud. My party brought 3 kiddos with us to have dinner and wanted to watch the Chiefs play. The wait staff informed us that the screen outside was going to be the only one playing. The only seats that have a good visual of the screen were bar stools. It was not ideal for our large group. To say we left disappointed is an understatement. We had to get our own drinks as the wait staff was scarce. I was under the impression that this venue was a sports bar and restaurant. Our server was exceptional, the place roomy, the food subpar. There were four of us and we decided to grab a large booth, (it wasn't busy). I sat down and hit my head on the spiral steps leading up stairs. The seat was very very low and the table wobbled. We moved to another table that was better but the table was sticky but I believe it was because it was humid in there and the varnish was sticky. Hubby ordered the special which was hamburger steak with mash potatoes and gravy and a biscuit. Little one had the kid's chicken strips with fries. The older kid had boneless chicken wings and fries. And me, I'm on my 11th of keto so there weren't too many choices, but I ordered the chicken club but I wanted a side salad because the sides are fries, onion rings or sweet potato fries. No side salad and their two salads come in a taco shell. Drinks arrived and soon after the food. I pulled the bread off, the extra cheese slice (American Kraft). So I ate the grilled chicken with the little lettuce, two tomato slices and maybe one strip of bacon. It was ok, more crispy bacon and that would have been better. Hubs was two burgers with instant mash potatoes, gravy that looked fake, he said the gravy was delicious. He likes gravy. Older kid found a hair in her chicken. The server when told said "oh yuck! Grabbed they plate apologizing and took the plate back immediately, told the kitchen which they all said yuck and immediately remade the food. When it was brought back it was 12 instead of the six she ordered. But very hot and she tasted the lemon pepper. Little kid ate all her chicken strips, no complaints. I frequent here when I pass through town and today the service was not on par with every other time that I've come here. The bartender with the black hair looked very confused and my drink wasn't up to par either. Are they under new management?
