This restaurant is always cold but today with the cooler weather, we all continued to wear our jackets throughout dinner. Heat.... Turn in up a bit for a better dining experience please. Really the best meal I have truly had in awhile. I chose to order for delivery the Atlantic Salmon* which came with steam broccoli & rice pilaf. The aroma from the bag dropped off at my front door was magical . As I took a small portion of the oven roasted Atlantic Salmon* and placed it in my mouth it was moist and flaky pure joy . The broccoli & rice pilaf also melted in my mouth. I didn't want to stop eating such a scrumptious meal but I had to refrain myself & placed leftovers in the refrigerator. After that, no one even would acknowledge my existence for 10 minutes, so I ended up leaving. We had a group of 10 relatives that had all been to watch the grandkids talk to Santa at the Mall. B.J.'s wasn't crowded even on Friday, which probably speaks to their prices which are on the high side for what you get. Service was excellent, they set us up a large table and the waitress was excellent. As other reviewers have noted, the kitchen is slow, but the waitress brought the kids meals as soon as they were ready rather than making them wait with the rest of us. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The only reason we endured all of what we did was because it was late and it was our friends graduation "celebration". We called ahead to have our name added to the wait list when we were told it will be a 30 minute wait for a party of 9. While at the restaurant waiting to be seated we constantly saw the hostess seat parties of 3 and 4. After about 45 min of waiting my wife asked the hostess why didn't they just put tables together to seat us instead of sitting parties that are coming in after us. My wife was told that they are "very busy and it will be another 30 minute wait", with no explanation on the table situation. Now mind you, there were over 15 booths and tables empty that I could count, and if my wife would have never approached them to ask about the tables they would have not told us about the additional wait time. WORST date night ever!! We went on Tuesday evening. There were maybe 10 tables being served. I ordered the $13 Pizookie deal with unlimited soup and salad. My date ordered the half price pizza. About 12 minutes later someone other than our waitress brings out the pizza. No plates. Disappears. The pizza is SUPPOSE to be covered in meats. Check out the pic. Those lumps you see are tomatoes, not meats. Worst pizza I've ever seen. Another 10 minutes pass, still no waitress and still NO soup or salad. No plates. I go to the bar where a couple of staff are standing chatting (again, they are not busy), and ask for a manager. He comes to our table and right behind him is our so called waitress with a small bowl of soup and a very small salad. I explain the situation, he offers to box up my meal and not charge for it. Y'all, he literally boxed up that little soup and salad. Didn't like top it off or offer more. No mention at all of the pizookie. Even better, the nasty no meat pizza was $15!! Half price was $15?!? It wasn't even a big pizza. So my date paid almost $20 (we had water) for food that ended up in the trash. NEVER AGAIN. Food is too expensive for this level of service and quality. I had taken extra time out of my night to leave this review on a yelp account that I had to reset the password to log into. I've seen this place many times and had some family in town wanting to eat here. Looks like decent place. Food came out great but took a while. It is a little more expensive than I think it's worth. Our server tonight named Kemiah S gave my family and I the worst service we have ever experienced. She didn't give us any refills on sodas or waters. Took an additional 20 minutes or so after we were done eating for her to come back to us for anything. When she had asked about splitting the bill she walked away as we were telling her how to split it so she attempted to do individual which was 100% incorrect. Then lost a separate tables card. We couldn't hear her speak half of the time either. I'm not sure if she's a brand new server but if she is they need to take the time out to train their employees. If she is an experienced server she should probably be written up with this kind of service. I would recommend taking the time to go to another location if you want to enjoy your night. BJs isn't the worlds most fantastic restaurant but no one can deny that the pizookies are bomb. I came here with friends for Free Pizookie Day (with purchase of $10). I knew all I wanted was a dessert so I just ordered some wings to split with a friend. They were the most gnarly and nasty wings I've ever had. Pro tip never get the Nashville seasoning. 0/10. Our service was also pretty bad. We waited for about 20 minutes just to get water. Our waitress had an attitude and we joked that she just recommended the Nashville seasoning to spite us. I changed my order last second and she seemed super annoyed. She said she would bring us more spoons to split our Pizookie but that didn't happen. My wife ordered bacon veggie patty burger without the bacon and it came out properly without the bacon, so kudos to that. I ordered the fish and chips and, as always, my pet peeve is that if you call them "chips" they can't just be French fries. However the food itself was well above par so I was very happy with it. My wife and I visited this location for dinner. The restaurant was fairly empty except for a couple of tables near the bar area. We started our meal with the spinach dip appetizer. The chips seemed to be freshly made but lacked some seasoning. The spinach dip was not bad but it did not have enough flavor to make it memorable. For our entrees my wife had the parmesan crusted chicken and I had the derby style cobb salad. The portions were a good size and the presentation was nice. The turkey in the cobb salad was dry and lacked taste. Other than that no other complaints. My wife seemed to be disappointed with her meal especially since we were told this is one of their signature dishes. The waitress did a good job of keeping our drinks full and had not complaints regarding the wait staff. Overall this restaurant is worth a try but it will not blow you away. read more

I've dined at several BJ's in the past, and this location is not my favorite. Staff isn't very attentive, tables were dirty when seated, and food takes quite some time to come out. Came here for lunch on a Saturday and it was pretty busy. We had made reservations prior to our arrival because of the surprise party that we were having. I couldn't decide what to get so I stuck to the basics, chicken tenders with fries. It was good but nothing too special. I couldn't leave BJ's without getting a pizookie so me and my friend decided to spilt the pizookie trio. We got white chocolate macadamia nut, cookies n cream, and chocolate chunk. The favorite among us two was definitely the cookies n cream. I personally was not a big fan of the chocolate chunk. It wasn't that great and my friend agreed. Service was okaaay. Where do I start? This is what I would called a "mixed" review because my husband's meal was excellent! I decided to order from Uber eats, and the first restaurant to pop up on the screen was BJ's! Now I don't know if they pay for this to happen or it was alphabetical order, or just random. However, it got my attention and I decided to give them a try. I ordered my husband the New New Orleans Jambalaya, and I wish I had snapped a picture of it because it looked good, smelled good, and it was good! He gave me a couple of spoonfuls and it was delicious. Chicken, sausage, and shrimp served with rice, green and red peppers, as well as onions and a robust flavor. Now from the sublime to the ridiculous......I ordered the "Loaded Nachos," and I'm using this word very loosely. It''s just like in the restaurant, because they have a feature that allows you to remove whatever you don't want on your food. I removed the pico de gallo, guacamole, and some Sriracha sauce. This would've left me with grilled (fajita) chicken, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and jalapeños, which would have been an excellent meal for me. It was the worse batch of nachos I've ever seen in my life, which is why I included a picture. My brain could not even fathom what I was looking at in this box. The nacho chips were fresh, but the cheese was cold (the little bit of cheese I could see), there was about five pieces of small chicken, and this was confusing because these nachos started at $15.00, so I expected to see at least an even chicken to chip ratio! There was NO sour cream, and about five jalapeño's (I counted them). It was awful. I felt tricked, duped, and utterly foolish because I paid a great deal for this meal and there was no one to complain to immediately like you can do in the restaurant. I was surprised someone even boxed up those nachos and sent them to me. I imagined that person was being fired and prepared those nachos on their way out the door!! My first time ordering at BJ's and probably my last. I can't take those kinds of chances to have such an inconsistent meal. It cost too much and I was still hungry. My husband jokingly asked me was I going to eat my "Doritos" that I ordered, which helped to turn something so awful into a tolerable situation, along with a few spoonfuls of his food. This place was recommended to me by one of my friends. I tend to stay away from chains, but he went on and on about how good the pizza was and how close to Chicago style it was. They also make some of their own beers. When I found out there was a new location at Town East Mall, I knew my friend that lives in Mesquite would join me for pizza and beer. We rolled up last night and the place is spotless. You can tell it's brand new. I love the decor with the dark colored chairs/tables and the wood floors. The ceilings are high and open with exposed air ducts all painted black. A very chill and contemporary place. There were flat screen TV's around, but they were all high enough that if you didn't pay attention to them you'd probably forget they were there. Bonus for some kickass tunes playing overhead. Buzzcocks = yes, Dramarama = yes! I started with their microbrew the Harvest Hefeweizen. It tasted almost identical to a Pyramid, which I didn't mind. Afterwards I ended up switching to Chimay White cuz it sounded good, and it had been awhile since I've had one. I was impressed with their import beer list too. If beer is not your thing they have wine, signature cocktails and a full bar. They also have homemade root beer. Browsing through the food menu took a while even though I knew I wanted pizza. There's so much food to choose from. Sandwiches, pasta dishes, salads, burgers, flatbread pizzas etc. I finally made it to the deep dish part of the menu and settled on a mini pepperoni with the tomato chunks on top. About 15 minutes later our pizzas come out. Now...it wasn't horrible by any means, and if I had to eat it again, I would. It was pretty bland. It definitely could use some more spices or sumthin. My dinning partner concurred with his small sausage and jalapeno deep dish. We were totally stuffed, but decided to order the brownie dessert. It comes with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and piled high with whip cream. It was yummy! (see photo). Our waiter was the cutest thing ever and didn't mind bringing us beer after beer while we took our time eating and chatting. After running around the mall some we ended up back at BJ's in the bar area for one last beer and the bartender was really friendly. You know the kind that shakes your hand and asks your name. Nice guys working here! Bottom-line, would I come here again? I probably would. I wouldn't seek it out, but my friend in Mesquite drives to Dallas all the time to dine with me, so I'd be willing to suck it up and head his way again. I'd try some other things on the menu. Came here with my mom and sister on a Saturday night. My sister had BJ's once before and was craving wings. I've had BJ wings before, and knew they wouldn't disappoint. Upon entering, our hostess was rude. They weren't busy, but she carried on her conversation with her co-worker until she finally grabbed menus. Still no acknowledgment, but I guess the grabbing of the menus was our cue that she was now attending to us. I kindly asked her if we could have a booth and she said yes and so we seated ourselves in the booth closest to the entrance (not a problem, it was close). After sitting there a bit we noticed it was under the vent and was a bit chilly. Double whammy of chill being near the door. I kindly asked if we could move to a different booth. She said yes again and we again seated ourselves, this time taking our plates and utensils with us to the booth across the restaurant. No help. This girl, just did not show up to work today! I gave 3-stars because after we bypassed the hostess, everything was smooth sailing from there. Sad, but true. We had an awesome server (I think his name was Louie?), and the hot wings and Santa Fe chicken salad we ordered was sooo good! There's a lot more wings on my way to BJ's, but I'd eat here again. We ordered 2 Santa Fe Salads via Uber Eats delivery, which we love and order often. The arrived without ANY DRESSING AT ALL. In addition they were small skimpy in size. I called BJs and complained. I suggested the deliver some dressing or give us a credit for a future order. The said they cannot deliver and that I should call Uber Eats for a refund.
