I and my 2 sisters went to BJs for lunch on 3 different occasions and each time we had to wait for our food for over an hour. Each time when we arrived the dining room was at least 80% empty. Many people came in after us and ordered and received their food before we did. We were the only Latinos. Since our orders were simple items, salads, tacos, and a sandwich the only reason for such poor service was to discourage serving Latinos. I will never eat there again. I will discourage everyone I know from going there every opportunity I get. read more

Food was not cooked properly. By that I mean the sides and main were cooked separately so not the same temperature when it arrived. Took about 20 minutes just to get a drink from the bar. Got a mule that was mostly water and flat ginger beer. Replaced that with a Hefeweizen. Took one drink before I realized that my beer glass was absolutely disgusting. Apparently the bartender has no idea that you put beer in clean glasses. I don't appreciate floaties in my beer. Sorry. Won't be coming back and neither should anyone who reads this. Love stopping by when passing through Temple. Seem to always get the same thing-an appetizer flatbread pizza, although I do change it up quite a bit. Luckily for me, the always accomodate. I usually order the Italian Basil flatbread and what I substitute is grilled chicken for the sausage with artichokes to add as an additional topping. Ignore me concerning dine-in because this is all about take-out. I've been in Temple/Belton for a few weeks on business and I recently got to the point that I did not want to keep going out for meals. I remembered that BJ's has great salads and they have take-out! I tried varying my take-out places, but BJ's has been amazing every night: always on time, always fresh, always prompt take-out providers and that's why I keep going back. Even the manager was incredibly kind and helpful. What makes my take-out ordering so helpful is that BJ's has an online ordering system!! Wahoo! I can set my time for pick-up, select what food I want, customize it, etc. It's fantastic. Delish! Unique options and amazingly expansive drink menu. This may bey new favorite hand out. I sampled a little of everything here. The Brussels sprouts were outstanding. I really like BJ's. The main thing I don't like is I feel it is a little pricy for what you get. Portion sizes are usually generous for the entree, but not so much for the appetizers. They have a HUGE menu selection. Probably the largest selection in town. Taste has always been great. read more

Okay, here's the thing. Temple doesn't really have much of a night life to speak of. So, we came here after trying some local bars, in order to get a few drinks. Our waiter was nice enough, gave my friend some drink recommendations. However, as he came around for our 2nd round, my 2 friends both ordered waters and I got another beer. He brought me a water too, "just in case". I find this a little offensive. Makes me want to ask if he thinks I've acted inappropriately or something. Well 2 minutes after getting our 2nd round of drinks to us, we get a check. What the hell? We weren't ready to leave, but i guess we are being asked to? We definitely aren't the rowdy type, so i don't really understand... Any-who, we came back the next day for lunch and our waitress was awesome. The boyfriend really likes this place; it's just okay to me. I think it's a good place to go if you aren't familiar with your dining partners' tastebuds-plenty of choices ( a step above Applebee's, Ruby Tuesdays, TGIF). Never been to any BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse before but I will definitely go back. The people were so nice and the food was really good and hot. While it may be good, there are a few problems. The order did take a little long to come out, but we had 5 people with us. The other problem was they tried to sit all of us at a tiny table, and they were doing it to other people too! Thankfully our server moved us to a bigger table that can supposedly accommodate 10 people, but it looked more like 7. Will go back. read more

Giving the cheesecake factory a run for their money, this place has an extensive menu with healthy and sinful options. The lunch portions are so great for those trying to keep the portions to a minimum... but u can still go big or go home if you want to. I had a beer that was paired with my food from the menu recommendations. Wait staff was on point. Plenty of ambiance from easy music to flat screen TVs scattered around. Back to BJ's last night before rehearsal. The usually grumpy waitress was actually smiling and friendly, and obviously remembered us from previous visits - remembering that we both liked the Sweet Pig, for instance. We both tried a new pizza this time - he got a Bacon Cheeseburger (which the waitress said was "surprisingly good", and he agreed), and I tried the Spinach Artichoke. My fiancé and I visited here on a Saturday afternoon and the place was pretty packed, we waited about 15 minutes to be seated but it wasn't a big deal. Wait staff seemed tense and rushed, maybe because of the large crowd? Anyways after half way through our meal the waitress chilled out a bit and was more relaxed. We started off with the potato skins covered in cheese and bacon, wasn't much cheese or bacon. I had to scrap up pieces that fell on the plate and put them on my potato wedge to make it worth eating. The flavor itself was good, I just wish they weren't so greedy with the cheese and bacon. My fiancé ordered the texas style chicken fried steak which she enjoyed. Came with steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes , everything seemed fresh and tasty. I had a small deep dish pizza with Italian sausage , bacon and pepperoni....Delicious! I finished all but two slices. My fiancé only fished a quarter of her CFS. She had a raspberry lemonade? And I had an orange twist which is a mixture of orange cream soda and some other fruity berry juices. Our total bill was $46 which I didn't think was all that bad for the two of us plus we had plenty of left overs and free refills that I took advantage of :) but I wouldn't bring a whole family out to eat here. I was greeted by many of the employees in the waiting area which was nice. Atmosphere was appealing to my eyes. So far so good. Then when I asked our server to change one of the channels to WSOP to the big screen I was declined? The manager explained to me that BJ's policies wouldn't let them show any gambling or fighting. and he said those were BJ's policies. No gambling or fighting? So now they turned off the WSOP that was on the small screen which was playing before I made a request for the big screen. This was strange to me because I considered all those channels i wanted to watch to be a type of sport/competition (UFC, Boxing, Poker). So I ended up watching lots of unwanted commercials and baseball while enjoying an expensive beer on tap. Overall the food and drinks were good. Atmosphere was nice. I've been to BJ's several times and most experiences have been enjoyable. Food: overpriced and mostly generic. I've known several people who've gotten the roasted chicken on different occasions and had it come out undercooked (as in raw in the middle). The pizza is mostly just there but always loaded with toppings so it's flavorful. The parmesan crusted chicken is very good and an entree I would highly recommend. The pizookies are fabulous, and now they have mini ones! Drink: The mixed drinks are priced higher than I'd like, but the bartenders usually make a good drink. The beer is more consistent though, and I like that they have flights. Mostly I recommend their handcrafted root beer which is so, so, so very tasty. Service: The hostesses and managers are always very nice and greet you as soon as you walk in. Most of the time, I get a decent waiter. The bar service is always nice. Unfortunately, I've always had horrible service with groups larger than 8 people (automatic gratuity added to the bill). In fact, one waiter even griped at us when 2 people didn't show up so we had 6 instead of 8. With larger groups, I've found that we're lucky to get the waiter to return for drink refills more than once before the bill comes out. On more than one occasion with larger groups, I've had to repeat my drink order to the waiter several times, and it would take him two trips to bring it to me. Overall, I'll still go to BJ's. After all, there aren't too many places in Temple, but I recommend going with a smaller, more intimate group or sitting at the bar. read more

My wife and I frequent to this BJ's as it is the closest to Killeen. Every time that we have visited, we have never had to wait for a table for no more than 10 minutes or a bar seat opens up. The facility is clean with attentive workers. Our food is delicious and hot. We always enjoy coming here and will return. read more

I've been to this particular BJ's in Temple quite a few times. The service is good. The drinks are good. The food is good too. I love the ahi tuna salad and the Peruvian shrimp bowl. I tend to order from the enlightened menu. For the most part I have been pretty impressed by the flavorful options on their menu. Now that the kid is older we have stopped here a few times on our way to SA back from DFW. It is nice to rely on a clean bathroom, friendly service, a sensory overload for the kid and an easy in-and-out back to the highway. I was disappointed by the wedge salad more than once, I forgot it was not worth the calories. Don't bother. The pizza however is pretty awesome and is really what BJ's is known for. The "Kid's Menu" has quite a few options and the staff interact nicely with her. We are clear upon being sat that we are there to eat and go and the staff try to accommodate, which is appreciated. Overall, it is hard to resist a stiff drink, beer or wine on a 'Sunday funday' or 'Black Friday' for that matter but it is nice to eat, run and get on home. I visited BJ's perhaps 10 times in the month I was in Temple. I sat at the bar each time. The atmosphere is casual and there were several TVs behind the bar to keep my attention. The bartenders were attentive and did a great job of taking care of patrons. There were usually 2-3 working the bar and it was normally pretty full plus all the dining room tables to poor drinks. They made an effort to learn my name on the first couple visits and started greeting me by name on future visits. The food was consistently good. I ordered a variety of dishes and my favorite app was the corn bread fritters. I won't hesitate to return whenever I'm in town again. read more

BJs is deserving of an update after 4 years. We've had some servers that have been really good and attentive and the menu has changed enough that there is something for everyone's taste. Although I tend to make a chain such as BJs a last choice on a normal basis, it's a good choice in Temple when going with a group of friends or family! read more

First Timer at BJ's restaurant yesterday. It was very good. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and clean. Went during work hours on a weekday so it was pretty slow. We got seated and greeted by our waitress immediately. I ordered the Seared Ahi Salad. It was amazing! It was perfectly dressed and the Ahi was so delicious! They were kinda stingy with the ahi though. If the salad is 14$..I expect more than a few small bites of ahi. The salad was so good though that it didn't bug me to much. The other items on the menu looked great as well! I can't wait to go back and eat here again! read more

As always, the food was excellent, however, my wife used the ladies room and there were no paper products, toilet or towels, and she said the sinks looked like they had not been cleaned in a week. When she advised the hostess, she was told that it would be taken care of right away. Unfortunately she went back in after our meal and nothing had changed. Our waitress seemed harried and stressed out, I asked jalapenos on the side of my tri tip sliders, which should have come with pickles as well. Neither was served and we had to ask for them again. Usually, the TV's are on, without sound, and the music is playing. Last night there was both TV and music, which was a bit too loud. Any how I asked for diet coke... nope Pepsi only. So I order a steak medium well. It arrives and cut into it and blood actually squirted from the steak like the heart was still beating. They bring another and I ask for hienz 57... don't have it... only A1. The steak was just okay. The asparagus was very tough. Mashed potatoes were good. You get way you pay for, and BJs always delivers. Yes, it is a chain, but it's always good no matter what you order. The service is attentive, but it does get crowded so expect a wait on the normal busy nights. One down side, when it's busy it is also loud, so don't expect to be able to carry on a casual conversation with anyone further than two seats away. read more

Recently went there very disappointed in the treatment we got. My husband ordered a martini "dirty" as he always gets them we waited and waited were given every excuse from the order printer not working between the bar and the wait staff input machine on finally AFTER our meal was finished including appetizers in which my husband did not even have a water much less his cocktail I requested a manager who then gave us the excuse they were out of olives and olive juice for a dirty martini . They are in the same parking lot as a Target with a grocery store and mgmt looked shocked when I stated that mgmt could not walk their butts over to Target and buy olives??They never came back to give us the option of ordering a different beverage or cocktail they just have different excuses of saying it's coming its almost ready etc etc . I am amazed at the lack of self reliance a management team has when it comes to simple fixes it's like how dare they have to actually trouble shoot or go to a grocers located in the same parking lot with 10 bucks of petty cash . I'm just baffled at the fact a customer had yo suggest this considering the manager said they had been without olives for more than 2 weeks !! I mean REALLY this is pure laziness I can't imagine the salary a manager gets paid to just stand there and watch staff struggle not having basic supplies to fill an order it should NOT take a customer to bring it to their attention they are located next to a grocers duh! The manager said wide eyed ya know I don't know why that hasn't been done guess I will stop by there on my way to work tomorrow I'm like it's a 2 min walk out your front door yet you want to wait until tomorrow??? What's wrong with sending a runner with petty cash right now?? I got no response about that suggestion . What happened to making sure your staff has everything they need yo be successful??? Epic Fail that night and btw they changed their menu removing several and I mean SEVERAL items that as far as I ever saw were consistent sellers. As far as franchises go this one is actually quite good. I can't say enough about the beer. It's not your traditional American mass produced beer. The different types all have a lot of flavor and all have something to offer. And if beer isn't your thing the ciders or mixes of beer and ciders are worth a taste. Which is happily given by the staff for free prior to ordering. But to make things even better, BJ's has rather good food. I'd try the avocado rolls...... Amazing. Can get crowded on the big nights like Friday and Saturday though so show up early or hit the bar for a minute or two. read more

My girlfriend had the turkey burger, and I had shrimp scampi. Neither of our meals were hot, my scampi turned out pretty bland, and she had to send her burger back since it was just the patty and bread and was missing the veggies. While better, it still was missing lettuce, so she had to ask for it on the side. By this point, we both had lost our appetite. Can't at all complain about the service; the waitress did everything right. However the kitchen was severely lacking. read more
