But sat down then felt good enough to order a tri tip wedge salad but I got the bj wings, and the waiter was very nice and experienced. there where a lot of options-on the menu which I feel gave me the option to get me some chiky chiky which you ain't ever. It just hit different after a hot day the sauce was just perfect the place was perfect for a meal before trip back to Waco. During a Hog Hunting Trip back in late February early March Me my step mother in law & my daughter in law came here for Dinner one of the nights that the boys were on their hunting trip. I do not remember what the other two ate but I ordered the Rib Eye which I normally wouldn't ever order however it was the only cut of beef I could find on their menu & I wanted a steak so decided to give it a go. Soooo Happy I did!!! It was AMAZING, I'm weird and do not like a lot of added seasoning (I like the natural flavor) nor do I like spicy so for this cut of meat to come to me with minimal seasoning allowed the natural flavor of the meat to shine through. I ordered medium rare to which they got it right and the meat just melted in my mouth!!! I'm not sure if the price for my meal was low, fair or high as I normally order Filet mignon. I do know that BJ's will be my go to spot when I'm craving steak while visiting my son & family in Killeen until I find another spot. I took 1 star away because the night we visited they were busy and had like a 45+ minute wait for a table however the bar area which also has tables and not just bar seating was "seat yourself" and the hostess failed to mention this to us and it wasn't until I saw others coming in and going directly to the bar area and sitting down that I decided to ask if it was self seating and was told yes. The placed seemed to be staffed well and the place was not too crowded yet all around us we see orders getting messed up. People receiving the wrong order. Took forever to get our burgers. We had to inquire. They arrived cold. No utensils. No napkins. Burgers were so cold we had to leave to take them home to microwave. I don't understand, at a restaurant as busy as BJ's is, why anyone would be behind the bar who has no idea what a martini is, nor how to make one. But when that is necessary, there are several proper options. None of those happened tonight. First of all, if you don't know how to make a martini, perhaps you should not be tending bar on a Friday night in a busy restaurant. If that does happen, however, there are a few things you could do. You could ask a coworker or a manager. You could look it up. You can call the server over and ask her to ask the customer to either order something else, or come over to the bar and walk you through it. What should NEVER happen, is that you try very poorly to fake it; but that IS what happened tonight. I ordered a martini on the rocks with three olives. What I was served was a shot of gin, straight up, in a rocks class, with two olives. This level of incompetence goes WAY beyond merely having no clue about how to do your job. It also shows a complete lack of common sense, as well an abject and utter disregard for your customers--- one that borders on contempt. Finally, I don't really care how many olives are in my martini, but it's a trick my brother taught me years ago to act as an early indicator on how well your drink order was followed. Service here is terrible! Stopped by around 11:30 on a Saturday and place was pretty much empty, had the unfortunate experience of having Amanda O as our server. She took our drink order (2 sodas) took forever to get them and they were wrong but we just accepted them, took our order of a Club sandwich and a burger, about 15 minutes later another person dropped our food off and just turned around and left, couldn't catch her to tell her they had forgotten something from our order and to ask for a refill as our drinks were empty now, Finally about 10 minutes later Amanda shows back up, to get us a refill and our missing items, asks if we are going to want desert and we said no, she puts down a receipt and says we can pay her when we are ready or use the app and walks off, after waiting for another 10 minutes hoping she would stop by so we could pay with our card , we just left some cash on the table and left! C'mon guys, this place has no pride in the quality of food they serve. I ordered my niece a cheeseburger kids meal and clearly told the guy meat, ketchup, cheese, pickles. BJ's has always been one of our "go to" places when we're not sure what we want to eat as they have good servers, a good selection of food items on the menu and generally have something for everyone. We normally go there at least once a month, if not more. Today I was totally shocked when we ordered a side of sweet potato fries and the bill came and they were listed at $6.45. I thought surely it was an error, however, our server confirmed that an order of sweet potato fries in fact cost $6.45. We've noticed price increases bit by bit, but this is ridiculous. Needless to say we won't be ordering these fries again and will think twice about going to BJ's in the future. Inflation is everywhere.....but this is outrageous. Shame on you BJ's! read more

This is a very good restaurant. I used to live in Temple, and we came here often. Stopped in for lunch on a car trip today and it remains a very good restaurant and a very good BJ's. Our server was very good and friendly, but service seemed a tad bit slow. I had their spicy chicken in soba noodles and my wife their bacon cheeseburger. My dish was very good. The burger was good except the top bun was very dry and fell apart. The coffee was a very good blend. I like BJ's because they have an extensive and varied menu with great craft beers. read more

There is always a wait! Even today, with plenty of open tables, we were told a 10-15 minute wait bc their servers were stuck in traffic. We asked if we could just sit at an empty table to wait and were told no. The bar was not an option for us because we had a child with us. In today's times when carry-out is more the norm than the exception, I expected better service since my last pre-covid curbside. I ordered the avocado egg roll appetizer and three orders of seafood tacos. The egg roll was burnt. The tortillas on the tacos were all hard and difficult to wrap into a taco shape. We received zero orders of chips which are supposed to be included with a each taco order. I wish this place would send the same quality of food in to go orders as in restaurant dining. Went to eat after graduation, it's my sons favorite place. We usually have birthday meals and special occasions there. We had a large party and knew there was going to be a wait, they said about 40 minutes. After 40 minutes they kept seating people ahead of us and the hostess said they had called ahead. We asked what was going on and she said that if someone calls in they get put ahead of us even though we were already there and that we could step outside and call ahead and then we'd be guaranteed a spot....well we talked to the manager and although he said that wasn't they way the process went he was still less than eager to really take care of us. Great, low-key, relaxing place! Beer is what's offered at BJ restaurants so a variety is on tap. Canned beer and growlers are also available. There is no food cooked on site though a food truck is there at times on Fridays ( I've been told). The lack of food is where that generates the four star rating, otherwise I really like the place. Club on Sourdough w/mayo and Baked Potato w/butter & sour creme (NO MAYO)not packet or container, baked potato was hard, butter wouldn't even melt on it, I had to microwave for 1min. to soften it and butter to melt. Maybe some people don't mind or just don't let restaurants know...but let's be honest...we're PAY ING for the privilege to eat out...wee ALL have the right to receive decent, hot, fresh, correctly prepared complete meals ordered. Great, just ordered takeout. Half slab of baby back ribs. That was the smallest half slab I have ever seen. It was the size of my hand. Tough as leather, pretty much not edible. The server was alright considering the restaurant was very busy. Food came out room temperature and steak was cook too well. The manager Philip completely lied after saying he would bring me out a new steak but it will take 25 mins. When the server returned with my food in less than 10 mins. It was clearly the same steak but split in half more done than It was before. So sad I only wanted to enjoy my food not to be lied to. Food shouldn't be played over!!! read more

The fact that they could seat all 39 of us was pretty nice. The wait staff didn't managed to keep the orders together though the wait for anything was long. My dining companion and I ordered 3 beers, 1 pale ale & 2 porters (4.75 each), along with the large Mediterranean deep dish pizza ($24). The pale ale was alright. I'd drink it, but I didn't have any strong feelings about it. The porter on the other hand, was excellent. Dark, rich, and chocolaty. Carbonated with nitrogen, it was smooth and delicious. This is one of my favorite beers. The pizza was a pizza. And it wasn't like a deep dish Chicago pizza; it was just a pizza with really thick crust. Looking at everyone else's food at the table, it was just typical chain restaurant food. It's like a Chili's, Applebee's, or Bennigan's (RIP) within a brewery. Food was satisfying, but not great by any means. It was also severely overpriced. $24 for a pizza was a little ridiculous. In spite of the food and price of food, BJ's gets 4 stars. They were able to accommodate a large party, though the club meeting was a little difficult due to the noise. And the Porter was just awesome. read more

I was meeting up an old friend for lunch and when I asked my friend what's good, he said everything, but the burgers are really good. Well, because I was starving, I wanted an appetizers and got the spinach artichoke dip. It was mediocre. (I have had better...from cheddars) Then i was deciding between the brewhouse double deluxe burger or patty melt. I got the patty melt with the wedge and thin fries (because someone else recommended those). It was good, but something I could get anywhere for cheaper than $10. Overall, the food and service in general at this chain is good. I didn't get to try any of the beer or other drinks because I had to go back to work, but my friend definitely enjoyed his drinks. My wife & I ate at BJ's one Saturday, mid-afternoon. Although we got seated within 5 minutes, the service took FOREVER!! It is no exaggeration when I say we waited 45 minutes between getting our appetizer and our main entree!! Yeesh. That being said, the food was very good. The ambience is nice too, but it is very loud. (Hello... it's a bar!!) Imagine the big booths and high ceilings of the Cheesecake Factory, with big & bold decorations and very clean bathrooms, and combine it with a microbrewery with lots of different beers on tap.
