So I should preface this by saying that I am NOT actually a member of the BJ's Wholesale Club but I am regularly asked by friends who are if I can take a ride with them to help with their own shopping needs as an extra pair of capable hands. The location is close to the area formerly used by the long-shuttered Ceasar's Bay Bazaar (there's now a Target, Kohls and Best Buy in the vicinity). So its rather convenient to ride to and they have a sizable lot to use. Don't waste time tooling around the ground level and instead go up to the next as my friends always find space up there. There are elevators to use when returning with your goods. Overall this is a very spacious establishment with a little bit of everything but as expected in a bulk size. Sometimes I ask the friends I've joined to portion out what they've purchased and I'd reimburse them. I live alone and don't need 20 bars of soap or a gallon of dishwashing liquid etc. There are all sorts of foods to browse through and yes they even have some electronics on sale so who knows if you will find a bargain of some kind when you are walking up and down the aisles. Now I should advise that you have your mobile fully charged in the event that you lose your party. Its fairly easy to get separated here and you might need to do some texting or calling to rendezvous. There is a self checkout area and a number of cashiers and everyone seemed friendly so shoppers should make sure that they are returning this in kind. I guess the only thing I'd suggest is more than one checker at the exit. Sometimes I've been on a longer line since people want to talk to them and that wears thin on the patience. Show your receipt and move along please :) Overall, I would likely join this club if there was a need for it but at this point in my life there just isn't.

Rang up for a higher price on 10/05/24, 'supervisor' Kinsang gave me a very hard time to get the advertised price.

Prices for items purchased on 10/05/24 rang up for a higher price than marked. Supervisor' Kinsang gave me a very hard time to get the advertised price. Despite seeing my pictures with the advertised prices, he had employees go check the prices twice and then bring the signs to him. When shopping, please check the prices at register and compare with advertised price. Not first time this has happened to me. I just took the time to get it corrected this time.

Highly recommend going when they open because there is only one two way street in and out. Parking is a pain if you come during peak hours and due to the street, all it takes is someone to double park and we're all waiting to squeak by, don't be that guy. It's similar to Costco in offering bulk items. When you check out, there is one line. Workers will tell you but people will still try to cut and play dumb, again don't be like that.

I never wrote a review for BJ's... probably because it's more self service than anything; unless we are reviewing their selections of product, I guess. HOWEVER, I feel now is the right time to do so. During this insane COVID-19 crisis, I have to say... BJ's is freaking awesome compared to their competitor (C*stco)... it's just more reliable, cleaner, and not as horrendous of a shopping experience than C*stco. I know at the beginning of the hoarding... (stupid media drove them peeps insane!) it was bad all around, Wholefood, Traders, C*stco, Bj's, Target... everywhere!!! Now, I feel like there's a sense of calm so all the supply chains are doing their best to meet demands. Kudos to the management and double clap for the employees for keeping us customers stocked! It's been life changing for us in terms of food, our relationship to supplies and how we best plan out our meals. A heartfelt THANK YOU!

I always avoid the weekends but even so, Bj's lines can get crazy at any given time. I try my best to find the right off hours for a visit. Often I think about the differences between Bj's club and Costco club. Bj's location is more convenient for me. They don't have as much variety and exclusive items like Costco. I do feel that Bj's has better quality for the most part. BJ's has more of the basic essentials whereas Costco has more fun products to discover. Bj's has better membership deals. The club itself has spacious aisles, clean, and neat. They have clean/healthy eating options for many of their products. You'll find your vegan, gluten free, organic, etc. needs. I just wish they sold more ethnic items here. Their parking lot is designed so poorly, unsafe and not practical to circle for parking. Specifically the ground level. People also park illegally making it difficult for cars to navigate in and out. Please be safe! They either have none or lots of broken shopping carts. Their website is easy to navigate but their coupons are not automatic, you have to clip it to add it to your membership which makes it easy to miss out on a good deal. Their online prices matches their store prices but they have very little free shipping offers. They have free in store and curbside pick up. You don't need to be a member to shop at the liquor store next door but the shop has the smallest selection and not enough variety to enhance my Bj's trip. The park area, Brooklyn Bay Center surrounding the club is a nice relaxing, chill spot, super clean for a little R&R, fresh air, nice walk, catch a sunrise/sunset.

So I took back cover off and noticed the play belt slipped off the cam. This Tascam Porta 2 was serviced few years back by licensed Tascam company. Inside was clean as a whistle. So now I had no time to repair belt. Looked for repair shop and this store came up. Took unit to store and filled out on work order: Play belt slipped off cam. (See pic) Simple repair you think? Well let me tell you this place will pad the bill as high as possible. With frivolous work charges. When I went to pick up unit. I got a bill for $185 for 1 play belt. Ohh they charged me for Replaced Belts, Rebuilt Motor which was a lie etc. There was nothing wrong with anything except the play belt. On top of that they never called me to say this work needs to be done. Or provide any photos to show what they did. That's what I mean by padding the bill. So I show up to pick up unit and bring my own Tascam OEM power supply, that was original to unit. Plug it in and all is ok. Just wanted to pay and leave. There is one thing I learned in life. Never argue with a fool. Because that makes two fools. So low and behold I take unit to my job and less than an hour later the Tascam unit fails. All this work that was supposed done and it breaks done before I even get it home. Yea right! So now I take it back. And it takes another day. Funny thing is the guy working the counter is like. Hey bring that Tascam oem power supply back and he will trade it for a $3 Chinese power supply. I was born at nite. But it wasn't last nite. What a moron bad enough he is ripping me off for unapproved work. Now he wants me to trade a $30 Tascam oem power supply for a $3 one. What an idiot. Check it out if you enter this store. Enter at your own risk. And be specific about any repairs with the caveat if work goes beyond scope of original quote. That you need to approve it. And ask for proof like photos etc.

Variety of merchandise is pretty wide with DIY sections being rather useful and interesting. Aisles are clean and wide, well-lit. It's easy to reserve pieces of merchandise online in order to later pick them up at store. Mail-in freebies offers are nice, too. The Brooklyn location amenities include large parking space and restrooms. There is no loud, crappy music blasted into your ears. Thank you for that! I tend to escape some establishments where music is loud and annoying. Too bad that the store has no seating spaces, since the location is quite spacious, and if you have time to spend there, you get tired. Definitely do your homework before visiting Micro Center, as that place is certainly intriguing, but your experience there is much better, if you know why you are there. If you decide to misbehave at that store somehow badly, then keep in mind that a New York City Department of Correction building is right next door :) .

I specifically came here after ordering a Web order of one of the two things they had - and then the following sequence of events happened. 1. My web order was not on the shelf, even though I had a confirmation email, they saw the confirmation email in their system, and then weren't able to find it after 10 minutes of searching. They then told me to go to the floor (no help, no direction on where to go) to go find what they lost 2. I am told to go to a sales representative on the floor. I tell him what I need, knowing that there is still one left in their inventory since I didn't buy them out with my Web order. He searches the generic name of the brother labels i'm looking for (literally "brother's label cartridge"), the results are very long, he doesn't go past the first page, and he tells me that they don't carry that here at all 3. I then show him the page on the website with the right name. He finally looks it up. he tells me it's an aisle seven and tells me to go there. 4. I go to aisle seven I search for another 10 minutes, no help from any staff at this point, and no cartridge to be found - neither the one I ordered online nor the one they had left in inventory. Look, I know mistakes happen, but there was a point of friction on every single step in this process. There was no accountability, no support when things went wrong, and no accommodation once the experience is wrapped up. I've had two negative and two neutral experiences. I've tried. I'm sorry. Never coming back, and I'll let my friends know my experiences when it comes to electronics

It worked well enough for my purposes, I told myself. The built-in phono stage wasn't exactly usable, but I had my own external preamp that I liked, and there were times the sound would cut out if something got ever-so-slightly jostled, but then it stopped producing sound from the left channel altogether and the quirks stopped seeming so cute. I called Jude and described the problem. He picked the amp up and returned it sounding better than ever. I now have a restored amp that sounds great for less than I paid for it in its rusty, loose condition years ago. I would note that the quoted time frame was the Sunday following a Wednesday pickup, and it did take some phone tag to get the unit back, which ended up being two weeks after I first handed it off. My guess is that because we live in totally different parts of the city, Jude was trying to time the repair relative to when he could feasibly come my way, and from what he told me, the repair was somewhat more complicated than expected once he got around to it. Notably, this was during the stretch of winter when there were the two huge storms within a couple of weeks of each other, so that didn't help either. Delays like this obviously seem inherent to a one-person home operation, and I wouldn't have expected such a quick turnaround if not for the original quote (and other reviews mentioning quick turnarounds). He was always friendly and polite on the phone even as I worried I was pestering him. Overall, I felt the service lived up to my expectations. Given that he's a genuinely nice person providing a specialized service for reasonable prices and will pick up and drop off your gear for you (even if you don't live anywhere near Flatbush), I can't complain--just unfortunate timing that I found myself without a working stereo system out during a period when I was barely going outside. Still, I have a feeling it'll be sounding great for many seasons to come.

Warm, clean, and alive again. He offered to pick it up and drop it off from my home. Instead we met halfway on a street corner! It felt a little strange just handing over my vintage baby to a complete stranger. But I knew from from his warm smile, and knowledge of the gear that I was in good hands.
