    Sherwood S-7100A 2

Jude is the real deal. I brought him a vintage Sherwood S-7100A that needed careful attention -- the left channel bass was fried, and everything was scratchy. He treated it with the kind of respect and precision you just don't see much anymore. He was knowledgeable, communicative, and clearly passionate about old-school audio gear. He diagnosed the issue quickly, explained what was going on in plain language, and the turnaround was faster than I expected. Most importantly -- it sounds fantastic now. Warm, clean, and alive again. He offered to pick it up and drop it off from my home. Instead we met halfway on a street corner! It felt a little strange just handing over my vintage baby to a complete stranger. But I knew from from his warm smile, and knowledge of the gear that I was in good hands. It took under a week and he did a fantastic job!! If you care about your vintage equipment and want someone who truly understands these pieces, Jude is your guy. Highly recommended.

    Realistic Sound Vintage Receiver

We've gone months without music because something was wrong with the volume output of our receiver. After trying the basic and cheap options first and failing, it was put on the back burner My girlfriend's birthday was coming up and she was out of town, and I found Pro Audio and Jude The Electronics Wizard off of a Reddit post. He came and picked it up, diagnosed it very fast, and prioritized the receiver so it could be dropped off before she got home. He was very communicative throughout the process and even talked me off a ledge as I was setting it back up and the volume wasn't working (it was a Mono button that was pressed down/ fuckup on my end) He fixed the receiver and cleaned up other audio issues as well. Anyway long story short; Jude is the man! It was great value (especially considering he picked it up and dropped it off) and our system has NEVER SOUNDED BETTER! It's SO NICE to be able to listen to albums again. Plus I got brownie points with the old lady. 10/10 would recommend to anyone with a vintage system (and I know there's quite a few of you in Brooklyn)

Creek Audio 5350 Special Edition Integrated Amplifier.

My 20 year old Creek 5350 Special Edition Integrated Amplifier was having crackling issues and difficulty in sustaining channels across inputs for several years. I finally had enough, found Jude from Pro Audio through his reviews on Yelp, and described the issues to him. Jude picked up the amp on a Thursday of a very cold snowy week and had it fixed and dropped off to me that Sunday. The amplifier sounds new, all issues resolved completely, and for an entirely reasonable price. I can't recommend Jude highly enough, and won't hesitate to go back to him with any other audio component issues. He's meticulous in his work, and a very nice person as well. Highest recommendation A+++

    Pioneer stereo amplifier

Jude killed it! Thoroughly fixed my vintage pioneer stereo and now it sounds amazing, all while being communicative, helpful, and very kind. I highly recommend :)

Jude did a phenomenal job!! My DENON TURNTABLE and TECHNICS RECEIVER have never sounded better!!! Jude is the only person who can truly service audio equipment the way it should be serviced and repaired. Thank you Jude!!!!

Found Jude through reviews and he went above and beyond. Needed a turntable fixed (tonearm wiring and cartridge). Picked up my device and gave me a timetable, but was able to service the turntable quickly and return it to me good as new. Very reasonable repair rate and exceptional service.

I feel lucky to have connected with Jude, and see him now as such a vital part of the community! In a world that feels evermore impersonal, it was a genuine breath of fresh air to have this kind-hearted audio wizard show up at my door to pickup my broken turntable, only to return it to me, smilingly, the following week, and in absolutely pristine, working condition. Price was totally reasonable.

I gotta give some more props to Jude. I had another issue with my Rega P8 turntable. It was Jude to the rescue. He picked it up, got it working and returned it sounding better than it did. He's like a doctor who makes house calls. Reliable high-end audio repair is hard to find. Jude is a gem.

I want to submit another positive review for Jude Hercules and the work he did for me recently. As I write this, I am listening to music on the radio, and I have to say again, thank you, Jude, for everything. I came to him after reading several positive Yelp reviews. It sounds great ! I bought my stereo in 1974. The receiver is a Pioneer SX-450. I was having an issue when I turned it on that had neen there for years. Not surprisingly Jude said that you can't get the part that's problematic. However he did have a great alternative that bypasses that part and makes turning it on a breeze now. He also checked out everything inside and repaired a phono jack. Everything sounds great Jude. Tremendously valuable working with you!

Luxman Graphic Frequency Equalizer G120A post reonditioning

A friend of mine was responsible for me finding out about Jude and Pro Audio Repair, something I have already thanked him for. Jude is a person one is only rarely fortunate enough to run into in today's world. He is a genuinely warm and friendly soul, who is not driven by attempting to maximize his financial gain in every transaction. From what I had read, I was lucky that he picked up the phone when I first called, as he apparently doesn't always do so, given what others have written. I described what it was that I needed - to have a 1980s vintage Luxman Equalizer inspected and brought back up to spec if necessary. I was ready to meet him at his listed address, but, as others have written, he came to my address, picked the unit up, and ultimately, brought it back to me repaired. And, as he had said at the outset, there was no bench fee charged. While I wouldn't say his fee was inexpensive, I don't think it was unreasonable either. And, when you figure in pickup and delivery, indeed, it was quite reasonable! And, on top of his skill in working on our electronics, he is possibly one of the more enjoyable individuals any of us will have the pleasure of doing business with in our day to day interactions. If you've got some piece(s) of electronic equipment that need some attention and you are fortunate enough to have him be willing/interested in taking your equipment in for repair, don't pass up on the opportunity. Thanks, Jude

Jude did an excellent job repairing my old Yamaha PF-800 turntable. He is a great communicator and explained his process, from start to finish. The motor hadn't been working properly for years but Jude fixed it quickly, and inspected the entire TT. His prices are fair and true to his estimate. Jude also picked up and delivered--highly recommended!

Jude did an excellent job repairing my Sansui 9090db. I will be returning to him if I have any other issues with my analog equipment, as well as recommending his services to friends. I blew my receiver badly (smoke billowing out--the whole deal). He got it working again and maybe even sounding a little cleaner than it had before it blew. Two caveats: This was quite a long process, and significantly longer than he originally quoted me; however I was ultimately not bothered by this. It was a big job and I don't know where else I would have gone. The price and work he did was great. No meaningful complaints here. The second minor issue was that my exterior case came back with some small cosmetic damage. Nothing huge, but still something to note. I chalk this up to doing business with someone who operates out of his apartment and a van. This may not have happened at a storefront, but that would have cost far more. He also picked the receiver up from me, delivered it, and reinstalled everything to make sure there were no problems.

My HH Scott A437, back home and better than ever.

My experience with Jude and Pro Audio Repair was absolutely exceptional. While my 70s-era HH Scott A437 Amplifier still worked, it had been cranky for years, with a volume knob that had to be futzed with constantly or else the sound would drop out. It was crackly, and certain inputs and settings simply didn't work. I called Jude, and a little more than 24 hours later I had a fully serviced and repaired amp that sounds better than it probably has in 30 years. It doesn't crackle at all, every input works, and the volume adjusts perfectly. I couldn't believe how good it sounded when I played an album for the first time (the first song I played on it was King Crimson's "Lizard"). After calling and describing my amp, he had me send over a few photos. He was able to quickly provide me a quote (which proved accurate, and that he stuck to), and then came and picked up my amp from in front of my apartment building. After he picked up my amp, he texted me that same evening to tell me that it was serviceable and when he could have it back to me. The next night, he returned it. There was a $40 pick-up and delivery fee, which was well worth the convenience. Jude is great, because not only is he an expert, but he's easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and just plain friendly. I really appreciated the tips he gave me about protecting the fuses from power surges, and it was convenient to be able to call or text him. I felt silly that I had dealt with my finicky stereo for so long, when it was so simple to get it serviced. Thank you Jude!

I came to this place twice and I love how they handle customer service and support. The first time I came to this store I was hoping that they can fix the camera on my phone and this was the second store of the day and the first store was more focused on a down payment than taking the time to figure out what was going on with my phone. I came across Geek Shop and decided to give them a try. Stan was really nice and patient with me since I was annoyed with personal reasons. He told me before a down payment he would like to open the phone and see if the issue is fixable before anything so give him 15 to 20 mins. I was taken back because most places ask for a down payment before even knowing if the issue is fixable. Unfortunately my camera couldn't be fixed which understandably is fine. He also gave me some phone advice since I had my phone for 4 years now love it. The second visit I met Tim at the store and he was really nice as well and knew what he was doing. My phone fell and the screen was black and I wanted to know how much it would be the repair of a phone screen and before thing he told me the two prices by quality of screen but before anything he believes probably the fall disconnected a wire from the screen and to give him 5 to15 mins. I stepped out and came back in 25 mins and it was back to normal as he detected a wire was detached, and he fixed it with no problem. I love this place and will definitely come back to this place because they are very trustworthy with customer's tech valuable.

TLDR: High Quality Service…read moreFast Turnaround (within the HOUR!!) No Games High Quality (non-OEM) Parts - you'd pay a TON more and wait a few days at the Apple Store to get this fixed. Flawless Repair, Great workmanship. The Backstory: Welp.. it finally happened.. after more than a decade of using several generations of iPhones, my current iPhone 15 Pro Max (ensconced in a usually VERY protective double-layered hard rubber case) managed to find its way to a hard tile floor quite energetically, causing the front screen to crack and spiderweb. Argh! All this after a zillion other falls, I suppose the stress finally caught up to that GorillaGlass. I searched high and low via Yelp, and Fix and Go NY seemed to always bubble up to the top of the list in terms of good feedback. So, I texted these guys, and they gave me a solid quote within 3 minutes of my initial inquiry. I asked a few more questions that they answered over the following hour, and before ya know it, I was on the subway over to their store to drop my phone off. While I was there, I also decided to have them replace the original battery with a new one, as my original just wanted to quickly drain. Lastly, for an extra ten bucks, they put on a protective glass screen over my new OLED screen. They expertly applied that protective screen with NO bubbles. Not easy for the mortal man! I was back up and running within the time window promised.. I had errands to run, so I came back about 2 hours later and my phone was all set for pickup. Zero delay. Courteous attentive honest service. Epilogue: I am pretty picky, but I did not notice any degradation in display quality whatsoever. Great workmanship on the repair. The new battery holds its charge way longer than my 2yo original battery. The only thing to be aware of is that the iPhone's hardware configuration status under Settings -Battery will gently report that you have non OEM parts in your iPhone. Not a big deal to me, except maybe at trade-in time, but what can ya do.. I need my phone! lol. All said, my iPhone now works better (longer lasting battery and scratch free display) than it did a week ago even before its nasty fall. PRO TIP: Be aware they do tack on an extra 3% surcharge to your quote if you are using a credit card, but I get that. No problem. PRO TIP 2: If you have an iPhone 17 Pro, they warn that you should get AppleCare if you still can, as the iPhone 17 screens are PRICEY and shatter easily compared to my "old" iPhone15 Pro Max.

Well let me tell you this place will pad the bill as high as possible. With frivolous work charges. When I went to pick up unit. I got a bill for $185 for 1 play belt. Ohh they charged me for Replaced Belts, Rebuilt Motor which was a lie etc. There was nothing wrong with anything except the play belt. On top of that they never called me to say this work needs to be done. Or provide any photos to show what they did. That's what I mean by padding the bill. So I show up to pick up unit and bring my own Tascam OEM power supply, that was original to unit. Plug it in and all is ok. Just wanted to pay and leave. There is one thing I learned in life.
