    I ordered a laundry machine that was delivered yesterday. Despite the great experiences I have had speaking with in-store agents at the Steinway location, my delivery experience yesterday has left me done doing business with them for good. Two guys delivered the machine. Upon arrival, there was a dent towards the bottom of the machine [see pic]. I was under the impression that I would have the machine installed for free at the same time as delivery. One of the guys assured me that the installation was an additional $120 and said that I could either call and schedule an installation for a later time or pay him $120, "off the record" via cash, venmo, or zelle, to have it installed then. I was pretty sure I chose this particular machine because it came with free installation. When I picked up my phone and said I was going to call to verify, the guy said, "nevermind, we don't have hoses on us so you'll have to call to schedule an installation at a later time anyway." I was able to verify with a representative over the phone that I did indeed have free installation for this item. This guys' sketchy attempt at a side-hustle threw me off. After the guys left, I noticed they did not place the laundry machine all the way in the room, so it was blocking my bathroom door. "The Product Weight is 302 Lbs." - over twice my own body weight. When I tried to move it, it wouldn't budge. I have one bathroom in this apartment and as it was my Saturday, I had plans later that evening. Point blank, I needed my bathroom. When I called to complain they said there was nothing they could do about moving the machine until the scheduled delivery date, which was scheduled for 6 days later. They also had the audacity to say that the picture that the delivery man took looked like the machine was already placed all the way inside the room and when they spoke to him, he said my bathroom shouldn't have been blocked. Undermining a claim I could so easily prove was nothing short of the unprofessionalism inculcating this entire experience [see video]. While on the phone, I was told that the guys had already left and were en route back to the factory. Nothing could be done. I had to cancel my evening plans and spend the next 6 hours trying to find help. Thank God for Taskrabbit! I was finally able to get someone on Taskrabbit to come help me move the machine 13" back [see attached picture]. The customer service rep. did provide a $60 reimbursement from the company for the inconvenience of it all, but in my opinion that is nothing compared to the time it took for me to correct the negligence of the low grade worker this company is choosing to be represented by. Prior to the deliverer's arrival I was trying to place another order with PC Richard & Son for a T.V., another costly service. Thank God that did not go through! I took my services to BestBuy instead. Because of this experience, PC Richard & Son has lost a loyal customer. I will never purchase anything from them again and advise anyone who is scheduling a delivery service to think twice beforehand, and consider the possibility that whoever you get, might try to scam you.

    I have had a very SHOCKING experience with P.C. Richard that I want to warn everyone about. I purchased a refrigerator from them and purchased "Haul Away" so that they would remove my old refrigerator. The delivery guys came on 9/20 Friday and apparently didn't want to hassle taking out the old refrigerator (they said they had no tools, they said it would 3 guys etc.) and said someone would come later in the day to take it. I called customer service and they said "No, we can't take it till Tuesday". So that's 2 refrigerators in a tiny kitchen for 3 days with no access to my kitchen sink. When I said I the delivery guys said someone would come the same day they said "we have no control over the delivery company". I went to the store at 79th and Broadway and same story, "we have no control over the delivery company". So since selling appliances means delivering them, I'm shocked that P.C. Richard has no control over the delivery process. Interestingly, when i went up to the store I met a couple outside the store who said that they had a refrigerator delivered that same day by P.C. Richard and the delivery people tried to shake them down for $100 in cash saying something vague about "wires". They called their super and then the delivery guys reluctantly agreed to take their old refrigerator. So since I couldn't live without a kitchen for 3 days, I took the doors off the refrigerator myself (didn't think I could do it but WD-40 came to the rescue!), paid my super's assistant $40 to help ME take the frig downstairs (clearly 3 men not necessary!) and put it on the street. So its still there and HOPEFULLY it will be removed by P.C. Richard's delivery company tomorrow. If they don't remove it I will deny the charge on my credit card until they do. P.C. Richard has been in business since 1909 under 5 generations of the same family. But with this kind of "customer service" they won't make it to the sixth generation.

    I was going to make a sexual comment about this store, such as Richard Gere and his gerbils, but it wouldn't be very PC. Let's ask Gere what he thinks. Would it be PC, Richard? Nope. This is located right by the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and it has a really good reputation for doing good work on PCs for good prices. I guess the main problem is that there are teen kids working in their basements and garages and in little one bedroom apartments all over Brooklyn - or out of their parents houses even - and they can give you much better deals probably, for better work. Having said that, I like this PC Richard better than all the others that I've been to. And the other reviews reflect that.

    The ice maker, frozen solid, one month after the warranty expired.

    They need to improve their customer service. When you are in the middle of a sale you shouldn't go help another customer.Very unprofessional

    i have used the expert appliance center several times, both for repairs and to purchase new…read moreappliances. also i have had Jose come in 2x in the last 4 years to check out and clean my now 30 year old GE refrigerator. when i inquired about getting a new one, he told me my current one was functioning well and advised me to keep it. he noted that new appliances are just not as well made. on a different occasion the large wand head on my miehle vacuum stopped working. so i went in to buy a new one, Alexi, the man in the store, told me that they could try to repair it for $40. if it couldn't be fixed, the $40 would be applied to the price of a new wand head (which was well over $100.) well, they fixed it and also showed me how i could open it to clean it more thoroughly than i had been. finally, i recently had to buy a new microwave and figured i might as well buy a new electric range to replace my genuinely antique old one. so they sent me to the internet to find the appliances that i wanted and then return and tell them what i wanted so they would give me their price. they had the items i wanted in stock, were competitive and their installation fee reasonable, which included removing the old appliances and taking them away). we scheduled the installation for a date not far off and they provided, in advance, a certificate of insurance as required by my coop. the delivery was as scheduled and the 2 men who removed the old appliances and installed the new ones were professional, pleasant and efficient. it is really great to have a place like this, where one is dealing face to face with real people in the neighborhood.

    Very disappointed how they treated a now former long-time customer. I called for troubleshooting…read moreand repair of a leaking dishwasher. Being handy, I had changed the door seal that corroded with a brand new original factory seal but still saw a small leak so i called Expert who I used many times before. They sent their dishwasher "expert" who said the seal was perfect, fiddled around, and when he could not fix it, said try it for a couple of weeks to see if seal molded into place, but he didn't think it would so plan to buy a new dishwasher. I told him it looked to me like the door wasn't sealing tightly enough and he insisted it would not turn on if that was the case. A couple of weeks later the leak persisted so I called back and spoke to a manager who said if the tech couldn't fix it, a repair wasn't possible. He said they'd send the same tech out again but he insisted he was positive no repair was possible and there would be another charge. I called a local competitor who did exactly what I suggested to Expert in the first place -- make the door seal tightly -- and what do you know-- no more leak! Of course, now having two techs visits I paid twice for a repair that should have been done the first time. I contacted Expert last week via their online appointment site asking for an apology and for wasting my time and money and a refund. No response. This is no way to treat a 20+ year customer. I'll never use Expert again and will make sure I suggest their competitor to everyone I know.
