So it was supposed to be under warranty SO WE THOUGHT. We couldn't find the receipt at first so we went to the store, they said they discard receipts after 3 months, which is illegal (you're supposed to keep files for 7 years) - it was paid in cash, so, knowing what small crooked businesses do, they pocket the money and get rid of any evidence about ever having that fridge in stock. We then called Maytag to get service on the fridge, they stated that the fridge was already registered and the warranty expired - IT WAS REGISTERED EARLY 2014 so we purchased a used fridge and paid for it as if it was new! We went back to the store, they claimed they don't remember everything. Mind you... WE LIVE RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET AND WE SEE EACH OTHER EVERY DAY. I hope you crooks get caught - they've just expanded probably with the help of some serious dishonest money into a hardware store. Stay away, as even their unknown brand tools look like a sham.

First attempt was when I called to ask how much to fix my older Imac . They basically said they didn't want to do it, that it wasn't worth it.... to them. For a business, I found that weird since customers are the ones paying for a service. I said, ok no problem. Still felt weird about it, but no big deal. There are other iMac repair places available that apparently like business. Then my wife's iPhone X needed a screen repair. I called ahead and specifically asked them for a price and was told $119 by someone named Juvencio. No other comments were made to me, no other questions. My wife takes the phone in later in the day and upon pick up is charged $151. She then tells me that she was not happy with the aftermarket super thick screen, and the colored variation of the glass. She lets whoever handed the phone over know, and then they tell her thats how it is and that original is $300+ . This was never mentioned upon dropping off before the service. THEN she gets the bill for $151. They're assumption that we wouldn't pay for an original glass makes me wonder again about their business practices. So we paid, a service was performed, and rightfully so the bill was paid. Im glad this happened to us because I USED to recommend this place to friends without having actually been a customer, but long time Ridgewood resident. Unfortunately once I needed work to be done, it wasnt as good as I had hoped for. Be aware that there are tons of PC and Mac places around, dont find the location a reason to be lazy to get a proper fix with ethical practices.

After a recent order was placed for a washer/dryer and was delivered in an inoperable condition, the "customer service" at Shumacher's became non-existent. To hang up on my 92 year old legally blind mother repeatedly is not the way to conduct a local (or any) business. Unless you want to be treated like crap once you pay them, you must STAY AWAY!!!! I wish the new owners good luck in their upcoming retirement, but this unfriendly, incompetent enterprise should not be allowed to exist!!! My mother and I came on Saturday because she was looking to buy a new fridge. Appliances are some of the most expensive items in the store, so you would think someone would always be available in that section -- but that just wasn't the case. The refrigerator section isn't very large, so the selection was limited, but we walked around for about 20-25 minutes without anyone asking if we needed help. It didn't seem like many associates were on the floor, and when I looked around, I happened to see one associate leaning on something (not too far from the appliances), staring into space. He could've been assisting customers in the surrounding area -- especially since it was the weekend. Overall, my mother did find a fridge and was happy with her purchase, but the customer service definitely needs improvement. The Best Buy on Grand Ave closed down -- no one is exempt.
