Summary: BJ's might be considered a grocery store on steroids. With the conveniently located new location, I signed up for the $15 first year membership deal. Unlike Costco, your membership card does not need to be validated before you enter. However, you'll need one to purchase anything. When membership renewal time rolls around, I'll reevaluate and determine if the full price is worth it. Fresh cut (service) deli meats and cheeses are unique to BJs in the big Warehouse arena. A Tire Center, a branded gas station, optical, and travel are similar features to others. The gas is priced less than other stations in the area and and additional discount is applied if one uses the branded credit card. I like some of the grocery options I've found here that are not available at Costco where I also have a membership. The interior is spacious and easy to navigate. The checkout features self, employee-assisted, and scan in your cart. If you choose the latter, you follow the "Express" lane signage and head straight to the exit where an employee completes a verification scan. Order ahead pickup and delivery are two addition shopping options. The rest: The parking lot is spacious and can be accessed by 436 or 17/92 (heading north). One unique (and annoying) part of shopping in the warehouse is "Tally", the autonomous robot created to check inventory. Like me, you might hear an electronic "whistle" while shopping and wonder what it is. Should it hang out while you've paused in one area to scope out the grocery offerings (and keep whistling), just tell it to scram, like I did, and it will. read more

My best friend wanted to see if they had the gift card she wanted to gift out so we walked in. Wandered around and saw some really good prices but she didn't find what she was she was looking for but it was interesting to see the specials. They were offering a full tank of gas if you purchased a specific TV which was quite interesting. read more

All of the reviews so far are only about the location being built and when it's opening. So here's your first official review of actually stepping foot into the BJ's. They have pretty decent deals with a lot of stuff on sale, and being able to use couponing is good, but for me, the value is not there. They have a very good selection of clothes, groceries, pharmacy, and other household things, but the prices are comparable, but not better than Sam's Club . The saving grace is the deals that they have throughout the year for discounted membership, which Sam's does not offer. So you're paying less upfront to join, but the price is for groceries are slightly higher. The story itself is massive and has a great selection that does surpass what most Sam's Club have to offer. This location does have a larger, bakery and deli section, as well as a larger gas station than the local Sam's Club. If you're looking to be cheap, this isn't it, but if you're looking for a better variety, there is good value here. read more

Nice employees, clean store. They let us walk around and check everything out before we got the $15 discounted membership. Signing up for the membership was easy, you also get to add on people onto one account for free. The employee signing us up was very nice, we didn't catch his name but he's from the 941. Restrooms were clean, employees were continuously restocking and organizing shelves even at 8pm. Products were cheaper than public by far. Does not compare to Costco at all but for that grand opening deal, this is a nice addition to the grocery store options in the area! Loved that there was a deli counter too. read more

1) Bought a $1200 TV on sale for $900. THEY CHARGED TAX ON $1200! $300 X 7% - $21.00 How many TV's have they sold like this? 2) Saw AD to get 50 cents off gas if I spend $150 in the store. So I spent $225 and when I went to get the gas, they only tool 25 cents off. This is how WE, the little people get squeezed for every NICKEL they can get out of us and I'm disgusted with it! I no longer remain silent. Wrote a letter to the FL Dept of Taxation for #1 and made them give me the additional 25 cents per gallon they overcharged me in cash for #2. read more

This is the worst organization I've ever been to. I went there with some family members to buy patio furniture at the Castleberry location. When I got there there was tons of people sitting around these furniture. I guess they were waiting for Pokemon, which is crazy that they will let somebody sit in this nice furniture of course I asked if I could show my wife the furniture and they all got offended. I have for Pokemon. You can't be here is a line for Pokemon that people relax I'm just trying to look at this furniture to buy. I'm not here for Pokemon talk to management about it. I've been antsy for this location to open for a while. I'm so happy their grand opening was this past week. They were fully stocked and have a good selection of products. The staff was nice and helpful. I love that BJ's has their own coupons and also lets you use manufacturers coupons. There are plenty of gas pumps and they also have free air. The gas prices were great. I'm thrilled to have a wholesale club much closer to my home. read more

Super place to grab those bulk items. Easy parking and access. Gas is easy to get and alcohol shop carry's a lot.

We had visited a BJ (Sanford) a long time ago, and we were not impressed enough, but there was so much hoopla around this opening in Fern Park. We were debating whether we, a HH of 2 adults, no kids no pets, really need membership to THREE wholesale clubs. But the cheap intro membership and the fear of missing out got the better of us. Not only that, but financially it "made sense" for us to join at the Club+ level, with a Cap One credit card to boot! So far, we have seen some positives and some negatives, the latter, mainly surrounding somewhat inadequate signage in this sprawling space (something that we'll quickly overcome with rewiring of our brains that comes with repeated visits) - that, and their regular prices being not all that compelling. There's no question, though, that the selection is better, or MUCH better, than the Costco in Altamonte or any of the Sam's Clubs that we've visited. We also like how conveniently they make coupon-clipping, which often allows you to double-dip: from that POV, and the fact that they have self-scan, they are quite customer-centric. Yes they have a deli counter as well, but it's not something we use but very occasionally. With our Sam's Club up for renewal this month, we are likely going to pause that, and go with just 2 memberships. When it comes time to renew, we'll have to re-assess. read more

BJ's is just OK. I would not have joined if it had not been for the $15 a year and the fact that it is so close by. I will not be renewing. They just don't have a very large selection of anything compared to Costco, and they do not have any of the items that I purchase at Costco. They tout their great Gas but when you google the quality of BJ's gas, it shows it is not very good so I don't get gas there either. read more

Very disappointed . I came to get my membership card and there was only 1 person in their counter. The line was very long and yet no one came to help! I saw several people who just left because of the wait . Another negative is coupons needed to be clipped to get the membership price! What??? Who still Does this? Good thing I'm a Costco and Sam's member because I will not be renewing my membership here! read more

Took the opportunity to try the new store in the area. I've been a member for a short time at the other location on SR-46. I'm not saying don't shop here, but my rating is reflective on the poor customer service I received at the checkout. The ladies monitoring the self check outs are like nazi's on how many items you have. I had things in my cart, the limit was 20 to use it. I may have had 19 or 21 pieces but what bothered me was how quickly they pointed out the sign... rudely at that. It wasn't like I was making anyone else wait, there was no one in line and maybe 2 other stations were being used. That's what was upsetting they would rather see me wait in line at the checkout while the self checkout was empty. And as I was waiting the nazi's were allowing other customers to use the station with as much merchandise as I had. I won't be patronizing this store and will probably cancel my membership. I spent $295 there yesterday and it didn't mean a thing. The guys at the door when you leave to check your receipt wasn't any better. read more
