I visited Sourdough bread House back in the day when they were in Maitland and was pleasantly surprised by their new, larger space. The food was just as good as I remembered from a few years ago. It can be difficult to find consistency in restaurants these days, so I really appreciate that the quality hasn't changed. It's nice to have a spot like Sourdough to add variety to the rotation of mostly American breakfast spots. I ordered the Sourdough Bread Plate, which is a large portion. Even though it's listed on the lunch menu, I was still able to order it for breakfast. Their bread is incredible, and everything tasted so fresh! The ezme is a wonderful addition to add to the avocado and labneh toasts. I also tried the Turkish coffee, but as someone who doesn't drink black coffee, it wasn't quite for me. I would recommend it mainly to those who enjoy strong, black coffee, though it was a nice touch that it came with a Turkish delight! My only minor critique is that the staff weren't around very much. This place was so delicious! The sourdough bread was my favorite part, with the crunch of it and the fluff. The turkish coffee was also strong for how small the cup was, with a little turkish delight to take the edge off. The bacon was beef, which was nice. Overall, the food was delicious. However, the service wasn't the best, there was about 3 customers in the restaurant when I went, but the server left all of us when we had to pay, leaving all of us to stand in a line waiting to pay. My family visited Sourdough Bread House for the first time on a Sunday for brunch with a friend (there were 4 of us). When we walked in, the restaurant was just starting to get busier and the staff seemed slightly unprepared for an influx of guests at that time. We stood at the door for a bit, unsure whether we were supposed to be seated, seat ourselves, or order at the counter first. If you are dining in, then they will provide table service. Once seated, we quickly decided what we wanted to order. My friend was excited to try their Turkish coffee and I was looking forward to trying their Turkish breakfast that I had heard great things about. If you love a good snack plate and enjoy nibbling on a variety of cheese, bread, fruits, veggies, etc. then the Turkish breakfast will be right up your alley. The Turkish breakfast includes cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, a cheese plate with avocado and a fried egg, tahini and molasses, jam, Nutella, local honey, fresh fruit, apricot and walnuts, olives, zahter, ezme, butter, and kaymak. It was enough food for my husband & me to share. It's also served with one glass of Turkish tea and a basket sourdough bread. They're obviously known for their fresh baked sourdough bread and it did not disappoint. I can see why their bread is so popular and it was nearly already sold out for the day. While everyone we encountered was very friendly, the service was a little spotty, and no one ever came back to check on us once the food came. They forgot to bring the tea and Turkish coffee for my friend. Once we walked up to the counter to remind them, they brought it very quickly. No one ever came with the check, so we ended up paying at the counter. Not sure if that's the normal process, but it was unclear. I was able to try the lemon cookies at an event and they were delicious. I was only able to snap this picture of the menu before indulging but they looked similar to the chocolate in visual appearance despite the difference in its yellow color. If you love lemon bars, then the lemon cookies are for you. It's basically a lemon bar in cookie form. My best friend and I stopped in for breakfast and we finally got to visit Sourdough Bread. She went with the unsweetened iced tea and while I did the waffle ($11). The waffle was tasty and so filling. We had such a great breakfast at Sourdough Bread House! The bread is amazing and we enjoyed everything we got. We split the Avocado Breakfast Panini and the Menemen with Soudjouk. The Avocado Breakfast Panini is made on two thick pieces of sourdough, with avocado, eggs, and cheddar. It is way bigger than I was expecting, and so yummy! The bread was really the star and I am still thinking about the bread. You also get a small plate with about four pieces of fruit. The Menemen was also fabulous! It featured lots of fresh ingredients and I loved the flavor. It was also served with some slices of sourdough and jam & butter. It also comes with a small plate of fruit. All of the workers were super friendly, and even though it was crowded when we went, we had great service. It has a cozy and lively feel inside, and it felt so welcoming. It does get busy, and since you pick your own table, it can be a little tricky if you're coming with a larger group. But overall the atmosphere is warm, welcoming and perfect for a chill breakfast. I don't understand how they make their scrambled eggs with cheese SO darn good!!! They somehow keep the eggs soft scrambled style while melting all the cheeses (3 kinds) so you can't even tell there's cheese in there. It must be a Turkish way to prepare the eggs. For sit down service, we were told to pick a table. The place was pretty busy which I took as a good sign. We wanted to try something different so didn't get an omelet or pancakes. Instead, my husband got the Soudjouk Panini and a Turkish coffee while I got the Sourdough Bread Plate. The Turkish coffee presentation was very interactive. On a round wooden platter was the coffee in a small cup, a glass of lemon water and a Turkish delight treat. The server explained you take a sip of the water, then the coffee, then the treat. Or you can dip the treat in the coffee. My Turkey tea was delivered in the traditionally shaped glass and a tiny spoon. Delicious. Then our meals were delivered -- these sourdough bread slices are HUGE! My husband's sandwich was very tasty with the spicy sausage going well with the mild cheese. I got four half slices of bread -- one spread with labneh cheese (tasted like cream cheese), one topped with smoked salmon, one with hummus and one with smashed avocado. On the side was ezme spread and a few pieces of fruit. I ended up putting the salmon and labneh together like a sandwich -- yummy! The hummus was great too and I topped the avocado with ezme. It was all great and I'm glad we went outside our comfort zone. The menu items are pricey but we did take home half of our food so each item really makes two meals. read more

I tried out this place for lunch and got a breakfast panini and almond cake. The almond cake was really good! It wasn't too sweet, soft, and moist. You can tell it was made fresh that day. It was also gluten free. The breakfast panini was huge and delicious. I kind of wasn't expecting it to be a regular sandwich, I thought it would be toasted or pressed and toasted. This location is much more spacious and modern looking then the last location! I was excited to give this location a try. The special of the day board was a nice touch!
