I travel to Rochester often, and my usual stop for coffee is Tim Horton's at the travel plaza east…read moreof Canandaigua. I decided I wanted instead to give my money to a local business and have a more interesting coffee experience this morning. So, I went off the Thruway 15 minutes out of my way to try FLCR. As a resident of the Finger Lakes, I'd had their coffee before but it never really made an impression.. So, I was looking forward to the experience. I walked in and there is country music blasting... Not a hipster vibe.:) There was a crowd of old-timers in a corner having their morning klatch, which was great. I love an inviting neighborhood coffee shop, even though this is in a strip mall. I could read the sign that lists roasts available today but the names don't say much about the product, so I asked the counter person what they have available, hoping it'd be obvious that I'm not familiar with their product. She answered by stepping aside so I could read the signs on the coffee pumps. Great! I asked what their lighter blend is. She replied "Lake Blend". So I ordered that. it wasn't until I got myself back on the Thruway that I took my first sip. I have never had a weaker cup of coffee outside of a diner or a hospital situation. Even (especially) a light blend, when brewed properly, should have a flavorful profile and provide a full coffee experience. That should be the expectation at a coffee roaster, right? If I had taken a sip before I pulled out, I think I would've brought it back and requested another flavor. The service was quite impersonal and businesslike and it was obvious the counter person wasn't really clued in. Do ya even drink this stuff? The one saving grace was the medium 16oz cup only cost $1.95. I might have paid twice that for a really good cup, though. I had hoped to add a scone or muffin to my coffee order but the selection was limited, didn't look appetizing, wrapped in plastic film--never a good sign. I will say that the experience is particularly disappointing to me especially because they do roast and wholesale coffee. Why bother roasting when the coffee is made so weak so that the flavor is imperceptible?

No sales people in electronics/ TVs. Stood around for 10 looking at the picture on all of the 30 some choices and decided I like the picture better on the Samsung even though it was $200 more. left the store, for outside - to do my own online research. (Not what you want as a seller). decided I wanted the Samsung instead. Looked at all the 100+ boxes didn't seem it. Went looking for a manager. (Inconvenient). Found at front BSing with another mgr. Didnt address me in a timely fashion. said I'd like to buy a TV do you have a sales rep for electronics that could answer questions/ get me a TV. He says the "were not best buy". IE no salesman and you're pretty much on your own. he does send eventually send a guy to help me find the TV. The guy says " good news and bad" we have 3 but they are on the top shelf up there; can you come back in a couple of days." Sorry I'd like to get it today. So, it's right there on the shelf I'm looking at the box but, they can't manage to get it down and in my cart for purchase !!! I'd say that TV was defiantly one of the top 5 most expensive items in the entire BJ's store. left cordially. drove 5 minutes to Best Buy. had the TV I wanted purchased and was on my way home in the next 15 minutes. Best Buy should thank BJ's for handing them their business.

For example, most recently, we arrived at 6:30pm on a Sunday, fully knowing that they close at 7pm. We knew exactly what we needed, but when we walked in the staff-woman at the door exclaimed "we close at seven" in a scolding tone. I understand a need to communicate a closing time, but the way it was delivered was unnecessary. I am sorry you have to work on Sunday nights but that is not your customer's fault. Then when we were leaving at 6:50pm my husband wished her a good night, and she blatantly ignored him. It was incredibly rude. On top of that their selection is not nearly as good as the location in east Syracuse. Overall, a disappointment.
