BKD Bagels is a good place to meet up with friends. The meeting room upstairs is really nice for groups. They're open early and they also do lunch. If you're not feeling bagels for lunch, they offer sandwiches on normal sliced bread. The only downside is there's often flies indoors, and the last time I was there it kind of smelled like bad plumbing. But I was able to overlook those things and enjoy some good food and conversation. The staff has always been friendly, and the food comes out quickly. read more

The bagels are better than other places I've tried but though I do agree that they're a bit overpriced. I paid for $15 including tax for one bagel sandwich. That said the sandwich itself is pretty big and filling. The service is really nice, no complaints there. It also seems dog friendly place as I saw dogs sitting in the outside patio area. Happened to see this bagel restaurant while in Purcellville and this place was amazing! The place has an open concept with the kitchen being viewable to everyone. The service was excellent - I got a bagel with cream cheese so it was made pretty quickly. I also got a cold brew and they had a cute little fridge that had their milk and creamer. Stopped in for breakfast one morning - first time visiting the Purcellville BKD Bagels location. I ordered a custom breakfast bagel: A Jalapeño-Chedder Bagel with Sausage, Bacon, Egg, & Cheese, a Hash Brown - and a cold brew with Half n' Half. The cold brew was ready immediately. They give you a notification pager for your order. In about 5 minutes mine went off, signifying my food was ready. There is some seating downstairs, and a lot more seating upstairs. I opted to sit upstairs. The cold brew, the breakfast sammie, and hash brown - all were very good. Service was good. Paid with Apple Pay. I'll be back again! #BKDBagels read more

If you are looking for a solid sandwich shop, you have to check out bkd bagels . I stopped at the one in Purcellville today and had one of the best sandwiches ever. I got the clubhouse on a spicy everything bagel (everything bagel with crushed red pepper flakes), which included turkey, bacon , lettuce , tomato , and I added cheddar cheese . The bagel tasted like an everything bagel with just a little kick! I can't wait to go back to try the deviled egg salad!! They also had other really cool bagel options like cacio e pepe! It says they open at 7 am on their door. I got there at 7, waited outside as employees were visible moving around inside and loading up a catering van outside. At 7:15 the doors were still locked, employees were avoiding making eye contact with me while I stood outside. When I finally got one of their attention she just shrugged and blew me off. If you're not able to open on time, at least pop outside and let any customer waiting patiently outside know. Complete lack of respect for their customers. read more

My girlfriends and I stopped here for breakfast during a winery weekend and were pleasantly surprised despite the current rating. I completely disagree with some other reviews that it's over priced. Coming from Baltimore, a bagel sandwhich with lox for $11 is amazing and they gave me a lot of salmon! My onion bagel was fresh and delicious. We eat here about once a month and it's about as good as you can do for a bagel joint in our area. Not saying it is not a good bagel, just not anything like a NYC bagel. Mainly just significantly smaller. The bagels are tasty and they have quite a few different kinds of cream cheese too. I have tried a few of their breakfast sandwiches and think they are the real stars. You order at the counter, and pick up your bagel from a station nearby. Plenty of seating that is never a problem when I've been there. Everyone has also been friendly. This is a good spot to take care of that bagel fix! Enjoy! read more

We had been meaning to try BKD bagels for a while now. Its located in the corner of the Harris Teeter shopping center- try and be careful crossing the street if you have to because the Starbucks drive thru customers clearly have not had their coffee yet. Service was friendly- you order at the counter and then pick up the food when ready. I had an everything bagel with cream cheese that was pretty good but honestly not much better than most other bagel places in the area- I had higher hopes for this place. The kids meal they had with the bagel bites were way too doughy, and the has brown that accompanied it was pretty bland. Am kind of confused by some of these positive reviews, do people really likes the bagels here? Maybe I've just gone on off days but on 3 separate occasions the bagels have been dry, crumbly, and soft, like maybe they forgot to boil them? I feel like a bagel should be moist and have that characteristic chewy exterior that you have to bite through. I don't remember the leesburg location having bagels this poor but I honestly can't remember. TLDR this place just doesn't scratch the itch for me when it comes to a good bagel. read more

Second time I have placed an order online to be informed on pickup that they sold my item before they could fill my order that i paid for online, and i needed a substitution from their limited options. Do I recommend you try it? Sure. Do I think you'll go back a second time? No. I won't either. We had the Leesburg one many months ago and it was atrocious all around. But now that a new one in Purcellville opened, I was willing to be open minded and give it a shot. The good: the Everything and Poppy bagels had copious amounts of their respective topping. The building is nice although the line for the register being directly in front of the door was an odd decision. The rest: it was just ok. The bagels are small and more sandwich bread than bagel. IYKYK. We got two sandwiches: one Everything with Ham Egg Cheese and one Poppy with Egg and Cheese. It was $15. Really? In no universe, this one or parallel, do two tiny sandwiches constitute $15. These are mini sandwiches. Maybe $4 or $5 each max, but to charge a la cart and ask $2 a bagel, $3 for two pieces of ham, god knows what one Kraft single costs and one egg? Based on my math they were $8 and $5. Overall a ripoff. They either need to serve a sandwich that's worth paying $8, or lower their prices, or fail. I get it, two eggs on a tiny bagel would be unwieldy, but make it at least feel like I ain't getting ripped off. I'd try one of their preposterous $12 or $13 breakfast sandwiches but I'm not sure if I'd get that elusive second egg. Bottom line is there's no repeat business here with this model. I don't expect them to last unless they change. If they need inspiration, head north, see what a real bagel looks like, because this ain't it. read more

I'm excited to have bagels back in Purcellville. I've been here twice and the bagels are solid. My only complains are that the jalapeno cheddar bagel is sorely lacking jalapenos and jalapeno flavor. They need to spice that up. The other problem is the cream cheese. I've had the veggie and the regular and it's just too watery. Other than that the bagels here are fantastic and so are the sandwiches. The coffee is pretty good too. If they fix that cream cheese, five stars. read more

I've read some reviews comparing their bagels unfavorably to this place or that in NJ or NY...I don't have the time to drive 4 hours for a Saturday morning bagel, so I would put this up there with anything else I can find in a 30 minute drive of Leesburg so I think what they have here is good stuff. Generous portion of cream cheese and having the nice porch and pond setting in Purcellville is a plus. Plenty of seating inside for those colder days too. The other issue I've seen raised is prices. bkd Bagels, which has been a hit in Leesburg, Va., recently opened a new location in Purcellville in the former Mediter-Rustic/WK Hearth building in the Purcellville Gateway shopping center (aka Harris Teeter). We stopped in on what we believe was their opening day and plan to be back. Our order was simple: bagel with cream cheese and a bagel with peanut butter and jelly. Given it was opening day, with a line that stretched down the sidewalk, the staff was hopping and obviously still figuring out their routine. So the fact that it took us a good 20 minutes from the time we placed the order at the register until the food was ready is something we can understand. We'd expect service to get more zippy as time goes on. As for the bagels, both were excellent. Nice crisp exterior and soft interior. We enjoyed ours outside on the porch. We're trying to limit carbs so we didn't take any bagels home, but plenty of people certainly were, and there's a nice selection. We will be back for sure to try out their sandwiches and other fare. Purcellville needed this kind of business (simple food well done), and supporting something local and not yet another chain makes us feel good too. read more

I want to love this place. Purcellville needed a good bagel and coffee shop, this isn't really scratching the itch. The bagels have been ok to good. Coffee lukewarm. More offensive is the price. I know restaurants have been forced to up their prices to keep up with inflation, but this is silly. I got 2 bagels with cream cheese and two coffees (one hot and one cold), for $17. The bagels were $2 and $2.50 a piece. Ok, that's fair. But then they charge the same amount for cream cheese. $2.50 for a smear of cream cheese on a bagel? And they put SO much on. Came at 7:02am to order food to see the worker has not arrived to work till 7:30. During the time FOH was not there the BOH employee were hiding, ducking and snickering instead of communicating that will be right with you. I had to wait basically 30 mins for the doors to open and on the top of that my order was not made till afterwards and I was not offered a discount at that and when I asked for one I was told they were not able to do that.
