To make matters worse, they charged us for that order instead of the one I had actually placed, which ended up being almost double the cost. When I called to explain what happened, communication was a major issue from the start. Instead of helping resolve the mistake, the woman I spoke with immediately blamed my husband for taking the order that was handed to him from behind the counter. I explained that I was not asking for a full refund, only for the charge to be adjusted to match the order I had originally placed. The conversation then got even more weird. She asked why I had sent my husband to pick up the food instead of going myself and told me, "That's how it works in the States." I was shocked by the comment. I was home taking care of sick kids, why does it matter who picked it up?She also told me that if I did not drive the 10 miles back to the restaurant, I would not receive any adjustment. When I tried to explain the situation again, she hung up on me. I understand that mistakes happen. What matters is how a business handles them. Being given the wrong order was frustrating, but being blamed for it, spoken to disrespectfully, and then hung up on was far worse. This was one of the rudest customer service experiences I have ever had.
