So I really am disappointed with this nail salon. I booked this appointment while on my flight from Austin to Kansas City for my best friend's wedding and they were close to my lodging accommodations. My pedicure was amazing (reason for the 2 stars) however...IF I had not been up for more than 24 hours, delirious and famished, wearing shades because my eyes were red I would have caught this before leaving the salon and either asked for it to be fixed or not paid. My nails were horrible. The dip itself started crumbling the next day and I had to actually go to another salon to have them completely redone. You could not pay me to walk foot in this nail salon EVER again. Way over priced and the people there do NOT know how to do French tip. On top of that my nails are now bending. DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

I'm sorry, I hate to leave not so great reviews because I'm sure she didn't mean to. However, you're using the drill so fast it burned my toes, you accidentally took the skin off twice even after I said be careful and go slower. I actually left and didn't let them touch it any farther. I should have taken my daughter too but she was getting French tips and they had already applied her tips. Her French tip came out $70 and looks like it needs a fill. It's wide and bulky. Upset and traumatized is an understatement. read more

My husband and I came here for a little relaxation and to get pedicures. I made sure to make appointments online and when we checked in, it was clear they were both understaffed and they were busy! But I understand that happens, so that's not what the lower rating is for. We both sat down in our prepared pedicure chairs and when we went to go dip our feet in, the water was burning hot. We sat for an additional 5 minutes to let it cool down and neither of us could put even a toe in the water. They had to drain the water and eventually put cooler water in there. It wasn't the worst thing but they kept asking both of it if it was ok and when we both said no, they seemed frustrated. My husbands feet were bright red when soaking his feet and said that the water never really cooled down but we had been going back and forth enough. I also was frustrated that when we were asked which pedicure we wanted and when we said which one we wanted, they really pushed for us to do the service that was more expensive. Then when I mentioned I just wanted regular polish, I felt very pushed to do gel and when I kept saying no, she was pushing why I didn't want it. Overall I was happy with how my pedicure turned out but was a little frustrated in our experience overall. read more

I wanted a place my 5yo and I could go and enjoy some time together. Envy was one of the only places I found with kids options on their service list. I called the morning of and they were able to get us in right away. We even had an issue come up and when I called to say I needed to move my appointment they were very accommodating. When we got there my daughter was so excited they had kids princess chairs! My pedicure was amazing and my daughter enjoyed her manicure. Every employee was so nice and helpful it was a great experience. read more

I walked into this nail salon at about 4 on a Tuesday afternoon. There were about 4-5 customers getting nails done but I was greeted immediately and told to select a color for my pedicure. As soon as I chose it, I was promptly seated in a massage recliner. The nail tech was wonderful making sure I was comfortable. I opted for the deluxe pedicure. It came with about 3-4 different lotions and scrubs + a hot towel. And the massage was probably the best I have ever got at a nail salon! The pedicure itself was well done and I really appreciated the attention to detail. I definitely recommend. Oh they also had an enormous selection of polishes!! read more

Everything was going good until I got a fungus on 3 nails and lost a toe nail completely from my last visit. They blamed me but I believe it's on them. I am not a big review warrior but I do feel this necessary to share to hopefully prevent this from happening to someone else. I went in on Monday 10/6 to get a regular pedicure and a gel manicure. I always get the same thing each time on my hands and toes and usually just choose one simple color. During my pedicure the technician accidentally ripped a piece of hangnail from the side of my right big toe, and it hurt very badly. I winced and said 'ow' and she apologized. It was bleeding. I know accidents happen so I let it go and tried to be understanding. Well here we are 10/14 and I'm on a prescribed round of antibiotics because my entire toe is infected. Red, swollen to the touch, pus, extremely painful. It's not resolving and may result in an in person visit to my doctor. I also was extremely pressured to get dip during my manicure (I expressed multiple times I do not like dip because it's too thick for me) and after being asked multiple times I felt awkward and run down and just said sure. It resulted in a dip manicure that was thick and just not what I asked for or wanted. It was also more expensive. ): I wanted to like this place but now I'm stuck with a manicure I don't like and a very infected toe! read more

DO NOT GO HERE. They do not listen to you as to what you want. My nails starting peeling less than 24 hours of leaving. when I came back the "owner" was super rude. no apologies and made me wait super long to fix them trying to send me back to the person who did them terrible to begin with. sorry, but if she didn't do them right the first time how is the same person going to get it right now?!??? I would not support this business. not to mention they pressure you on every pedicure to upgrade. if I could give a 0 i would. read more

I am so glad I found this place!! I never write reviews but they take time to care for your nails. I get dip manicures and they properly soak off your old polish instead of using another nail to pop them off and damage the nail. Highly recommend - especially Sandy, she takes her time, has great suggestions and is fun to chat with. It's affordable and the dip is strong but still thin. read more

I hate to leave a bad review for anywhere, however, my nails look terrible. My pedicure was fine, but honestly nothing I would ever rave about. This was the worst manicure I have ever received. My nail beds were for sure in rough shape but that does not excuse cutting nails at different lengths, a crappy paint job, and cuticles barely paid attention to. Not to mention there was only one other customer in the store so there was no reason to rush. read more

This was my first time there! I called previously to make an appointment. I was a little taken off guard. She didn't take my name or number or anything and hung up pretty quickly, she said she could take me at the time I requested so I decided to try it anyways. finding the salon was super easy. I took the streetcar to my convenience that was free, and then I walked the rest of the way there which was not far from the stop! Upon entering the salon, I was greeted by a lady in one of the massage chairs to the left. Nobody was at their front desk which I found strange but they were all super friendly. She asked me what I was there. For I informed her I was the one that called for an appointment in the afternoon, she called somebody over and he took over and was very friendly. Although communication was a little bit hard we managed and it went smoothly. He did not cut my nails too short and was very nice about asking me if everything was Okay! Personally, I love that. I wasn't sure of my nail color from their book so I just asked if they had what I wanted (milky white) and they were very quick and gave me exact color that I wanted! The overall cost of the pedicure was super affordable!! I did not get the gentleman's name but I would recommend him!! read more

I won't be back. Positives: it's in a great location if you're in the river market, it's spacious, and they're making the space conducive for the COVID-19 era. Negatives: My first two color choices they were out of, my nail tech could not get the natural/narrow nail shape which is why I walked out with this shape AND no cuticle oil or lotion. If you pay in cash you get a discount but every nail tech won't let you know that. Lastly, my nail tech proceeded to laugh and make fun of the shape of my thumb... never heard any issue with it before. I saw some of the other techs work and they seemed better, so I just don't recommend the middle aged woman. read more

Nail service was fine (simple gel manicure) but my nail tech (wouldn't offer name) was rude, rough and unfriendly. I would never return to this salon. The nail tech was aggressive with the cuticle cutting, I had to ask her multiple times to fix a break in my natural nail (I have no tips) and she was very rough with trimming excessive polish from skin (using her own nail). She didn't ask what type of shape I wanted, she just filed in what she saw fit. The nail color has dust particles from filing under it - she didn't ask me to wash my hands nor dust off the particles herself or remove them with an alcohol swipe). At the end she tossed me a bottle of lotion and stood up & walked off. I still left a 15% tip after the unnecessary poor customer service and she never even said thanks. Just left my card on the table. The 2 stars are for the fact that I was a walk-in (on a not busy midday Wednesday, mind you) and the color selection was good The nail tech was the nail in the coffin for me. I would never return nor recommend. read more

They did a fantastic job with my dip nails (with tips) and my pedicure. Sometimes when I get tips done they put them on a bit crooked or not flat with my nail but they did a great job and really took their time with my manicure and pedicure. I would highly recommend. read more

My most recent visit, my gel manicure is peeling off after 10 days, nails aren't filed to the same length, and no after care treatment. I called ahead to ask what the wait time was for a pedicure and was asked how soon could I be there. When I reply 10 min they reply with: "great see you then!" I make my way over and it's all street parking, I lap the block, find a spot and walk over. It's not busy but busy enough to where everyone is with a customer and after introducing myself as the person who called 10 min ago, I still end up waiting 15 min. This isn't a deal breaker because I get what this industry is like having worked in it for 10 years. I pick my color and scroll on my phone as I wait. When I'm finally gestured to a chair, I'm asked to put my feet in water without first removing the polish. Not a huge deal but I peep game- they get your feet in water so you don't leave. I wait another 10 min. Finally a tech comes over to ask which pedicure I want- I basically just want a color change so I get the first one- nothing fancy, basically an "express pedi". She gets to work and everything is fine until she gets the cheese grater out and I say nope I don't want that used. Most places will recommend a foot scrub or other physical exfoliator. Lotion is applied and painting begins. Great job with the polish, they look decent, but I'm literally typing this review as I'm asked to wait here for them to dry. HOW IS THERE NO PLACE FOR ME TO DRY MY NAILS?! I understand gel polish is the go to nowadays but seriously? It's been 30 min so this is ridiculous, and I'm paying and leaving. The two stars is for the end result, place is clean and bright and polish selection is great. However- No, I DO NOT recommend this business because it's essentially a chop shop where it's a one size fits all. I understand being busy and needing to move on but it's the disregard for customers time for me. Look elsewhere!! read more

I love this place! Anytime I need a pedicure, it's my go to. The prices are fair, and they consistently do a good job. I've seen several different staff & have not once been disappointed. It's also plenty spacious & the massage chairs are great. Lots of colors to choose from too. If you're close to the River Market area, I would definitely recommend it! read more

Ive been coming to this location for a while now Even after they've done my nails wrong/ rushed before. I decided to give it another try bc its so close to me and i feel like they stay on for a while. I changed my shape and got my regular dip with tips. I chose a beige color with slight shimmer in it like the first picture. When they got done with my nails the second pic is my result. I asked to see the swatch because i didnt choose a bubblegum pink with this much glitter. And i explained this isnt the color i asked for and they tried to tell me that it was, the color on the swatch "had just been up there a while so its faded" ??? Im not an idiot. My fire engine red that i previously had was the exact same as the swatch, wouldnt red fade also if thats your argument? I feel like they played me and tried to downplay the fact that i was unhappy that THEY messed up -And the fact i had to pay 70 DOLLARS for a color i didnt even choose. read more

I asked for my nails to look how I have had them in the past (black) and what I got was the pink. She told me they didn't have the tips required to do the shape requested (after starting), but if you are unable to do what the customer wants I expect to be told. 3 stars because Tammy stayed late to finish but I will be spending my weekend finding someone to shape them so that I don't look like I'm from 2001. I'm honestly embarrassed to show my hands in public. read more

I'm sad I can't leave 0 stars. I've tried this place multiple times because it's close to home but every single time I leave disappointed. Today I had an apt and was promised I'd be ready in time for an important interview. I got there 5 mins late & the mail tech was not busy with a customer- instead she went to the back and finished her phone call for 15 mins while I waited. When she came out she asked me what I wanted when I already mentioned I want a basic short French tip with dip powder 4 different times. Then she told me okay I can do that but you won't be out of here in a hour. Keep in mind at this point I've already been waiting for her to finish her phone call. I'm so upset because now I'm leaving with no nails done and going to an event with nothing on my nails all because I chose this place vs driving 5 mins out the way to the next salon. Also this isn't the only incident it was just my cherry on top to why I won't be back. The last lady who did my nails took 3 hours on my basic French tip set, the time before the lady added all kinds of weird prices to my total that didn't make sense and then the time before I had an apt and waited nearly an hour. I've literally never been served fairly here and it's upsetting because again I've tried to give them chance after chance. Save your money & time go down the street to sassy nails they are 10 times better at providing services in a timely manner read more

My girlfriend wanted to get pedicures so we decided to try this place out being they just opened. It's been awhile so I forgot how great it felt! This place is awesome! Customer service was amazing and it was sooo relaxing! Everyone in the shop was very friendly and even offering complimentary drinks. There are plenty of massage chairs and even little princess chairs. We decided to "go big or home" and went with their highest package they offer. The sugar scrub and massage was amazing! Located right in the river market it's in a great location for us to visit again!! read more

I do not recommend this place. The first time I went there, a lady told me to come back because she did not do any nail designs. (I thought she was rude when she told me this, but I thought, okay, maybe it's me.) I was to come back for the nail designer. I came back. I asked her if she could do a particular nail design. She was kind of snarky and rude. She said, "I can't do that." In a very polite but arms-length indifferent way. She was so abrupt that the lady she was working on looked up at her. The nail designer kept her eyes down. I did not get the feeling (that the nail designer) did want to work with me or for me. She is a 30 to 50 slender woman with black hair of Asian descent. I asked her what kind can she do and if she had any designs, I could look at. She directed to the website. The methods I saw were as stale as day-old bread. I told her I wasn't impressed. The most professional design I saw was of the American flag. (everything else was color and sparkles...?) However, if you want any nail designs with the American flag, this is your place! read more

This review is not about the quality of the service that I received but the customer service. I'm new to the Kansas City area and searching for a new nail salon. I walked into the salon without an appointment for a pedicure and dip powder full set. They told me that they could serve me. Numerous times throughout my visit, they stopped working on me to help other customers. After the first couple of times, I began to get very irritated but just rolled with it. My biggest problem came when I was getting my nails done. My service wasn't even completed and I was asked to pay. Mind you, I've been here for 3 hours and watched maybe 15 people get serviced. No one else was asked to pay in the middle of the service. I thought that was very strange but okay. Once I paid, I gave the lady $100 which was enough to cover my bill but I gave her another $10 because I thought I totaled my bill wrong. I began to redo the mental math. She replied "noooo keep the tip right" numerous times very loudly. I always tip very generously because I have family that works in the beauty industry so I understand. She was basically insinuating that I wasn't going to tip before I even had the chance to. Everyone was looking at me and I felt humiliated and embarrassed. I asked her for most of my change back because this experience was very unnecessary and she didn't treat anyone else like that. I'm very disappointed because the service was maybe a 4 out of 5. I was excited to find a nail salon close to my house but I will not return. I will not recommend this nail salon. Update: My nails on my left hand is slightly longer than the right hand. Maybe it's because the lady didn't compare them. Smh read more

If you are a visitor from out of town, this is a great salon to get your services! I live downtown in the power and light district and choose to go to the river market for my nail services. Friendly Staff , clean and loved my nails ! Lots of colors for dip, gel ect. Don't go anywhere else ! Tammy is awesome!! read more

I called multiple times, but your phone line was unavailable and no one returned my calls. When I emailed--sarcastically--asking whose approval you were waiting for, I was informed that my appointment had "expired," even though no appointment ever existed to begin with. I followed up to express my surprise that such a simple request required approval. Instead of addressing the issue, you blocked my telephone number. Blocking a customer for questioning your process is discriminatory and unacceptable. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau to report this conduct. Kansas City does not tolerate opaque or authoritarian business practices. Despite this, I still need the appointment and intend to be a consistent monthly customer--provided this situation is corrected immediately.

I called Polished around 4:30 PM on a Saturday, and they were able to give me an appointment for pedicure only at 5:15 PM. The shop closes at 6 PM, so it definitely made sense that they couldn't fit in a manicure also. I arrived a few minutes early and was able to get checked in. They have comfortable couch seating for people who are waiting for service. My nail tech came to retrieve me and got started on my service pretty quickly. It was a wonderful pedicure experience, and they allowed me to sit at the drying table past closing time as they were cleaning the shop and finishing up service on a few other manicure clients. The staff was extremely friendly. They were offering up restaurant advice to several clients who were out of town, visitors, including myself. I learned that people are allowed to bring their own beer or wine into the nail shop to consume while getting serviced-- maybe be a helpful tip for someone. Also, this shop has Sunday hours, which is often not the case with nail salons.

Awful, cut my toes up, uneven polish. Then when I asked to remove it and leave with no polish they said it would still cost me $35.
