They have good specials. I really like there fish sandwich on Friday but I don't recommend their tenderloin sandwich. It's super thin and over cooked. It's as big as a plate but it's hard to eat. I had the bacon cheeseburger and really liked it. I would go back again. Just avoid the tenderloin sandwich. read more

I called for carry out and asked for a New York Strip which they stated they served when I called earlier in the day. When I called later in the day, they said they didn't have the New York Strip to sell and only had a sirloin steak to sell. I should have ordered the KC Strip from the Dugout Sports Bar & Grill. I went ahead and ordered the it and two sides, the baked potato and mac & cheese. I got my meal home, 5 blocks away, and dug into it. My steak was a disappointment. It was tough and not comparable to the tenderness to the strip steaks. The baked potato was what you'd expect from a baked potato. The mac & cheese was delicious. I wish I'd gotten extra. read more

Traveling through Missouri looking for lunch. Found a wonderful chicken & burger place owned and operated by a couple. Very welcoming and speedy service. The fried chicken for wife was excellent and sweet potato fries yummy. Huge tenderloin and crispy fries for me. Clean and welcoming. Will eat here every time I travel through this area. My coworkers and I stopped here for lunch while passing through town. The portions were very generous. We left in a food coma. We all agreed this was THE BEST fried chicken we've ever had at a restaurant. It was moist and fall off the bone tender. Crispy and fresh. The spices give KFC a run for its money. **No I was corrected by my coworker, it was way better than KFC. One of us had the taco salad (on special since it's Wednesday), and couldn't finish it b/c is was so big. read more

Really good fried chicken and sweet potato fries. Mashed potatoes & gravy were exactly what you expect from a diner. Husband had green beans and coleslaw. Said they were good. Kids had breakfast for dinner. Bacon was very good. Toast was white bread with margarine and scrambled eggs were in tiny pieces, just not what the kids expected. For a tiny town, I'd say overall it was very good, especially the fried chicken. read more

Usually I have good luck with BK's, and is always good. This time though I ordered tenders, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese. I brought it home and I ended up with JUST tenders. I will continue to eat at this establishment, but I really hope this does not become a habit. read more

We stopped in on our long drive back home to California from Iowa. There were only a few choices right off the highway so we took our chances on BK's place. BEST FRIED CHICKEN! This restaurant is a hidden gem that we discovered thanks to Yelp. My husband, who is a fried chicken aficionado, declares BK's fried chicken among the best he has ever had and well worth the 20-minute wait. I had the mashed potato bowl, which was a delightful combination of tasty chicken strips, mashed potatoes, corn, and white gravy. Yum! The service was quick, attentive, and friendly. Located near Monroe City's crossroad of Main St. and Highway/ 24/36, this is a mom and pop place open for lunch and dinner in what used to be a florist shop. It's menu is standard for the area (pork tenderloin, catfish, burgers) with a few Mexican entrees. We've been here three times in the past four months, and every entree was fine. It's down home cooking, and nothing fancy. But the breading on the catfish made me stop and really admire what breading should be: thin, not overpowering, and spiced with just the right amount of pepper. It's all made to order and takes slightly longer, but on one visit, our party of six must have ordered 4-5 different items, and everyone was very pleased. Even the hamburgers were thick, juicy and delicious. If you want Mexican, Dos Primos is about a quarter mile down the road, but the standard Missouri fare here is very good, and BK's is consistently open, unlike a couple of places on Main Street that seem to reduce their hours every time we're out there. read more

We were happy to find this place. The fried pickles are awesome, the fish was well done, breaded and fried w/o being greasy and the fried chicken was great. We won't be stopping in Hannibal anymore for a mediocre lunch on our way from Illinois to Kansas City, instead just drive a bit further and head to this place. Not only is the food GREAT the price is good. Read a review about the fried chicken and had to try it. The spicy fried chicken was outstanding. Seriously, this is some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. Be sure to ask for the original, spicy recipe. They have two versions. It's simple, amazingly well-done, just a little peppery, and consistently moist and crispy. Plus the cobbler they have on certain days is a must. read more

We found BK's on Yelp and decided to give it a try. We are driving out west in an RV and could easily pull right into the lot. We had our 7 kids with us and they seated us right away. The service was great, Cathy and one other young girl waited on us. The potato bowl was delicious, several of our kids ordered this & loved it. We also had the chicken strips and the fried chicken. The mashed potatoes as a side were excellent. All orders are made to order so it took a while but they had told us in advance so we didn't mind waiting. 100% recommend eating here. Our total bill, before tip, was $63, can't beat the prices. read more
