I recently used BK Sharpening Service for an 18-piece knife set along with both large and small scissors, and I couldn't be more impressed. Every single item came back in incredible condition--my knives are sharper than they've ever been, and the scissors cut like brand new. You can really tell there's a high level of skill and attention to detail in the work. Brian was courtious and professional, turnaround time was quick, and pricing was very fair for the quality received. It's not easy to trust someone with a full set of knives, but BK Sharpening Service absolutely delivered. Oh my goodness. What an awesome job Brian does. Had my knives sharpened by someone else a couple years ago that left scratches and came back not so good. Brian made them shine again. I had Brian sharpen a set of 9 kitchen knives. I left them at the end of day Thursday and got them back first thing Saturday. Good turn around time. The knives came back sharp and I thought $40 was a fair price. I'll use him again to get my scissors sharpened. read more

I sent BK's my cheap backup hair clippers (made by Remington) to have the blades sharpened and overall servicing. The service was incredibly fast and incredibly good: the owner himself called me to tell me everything about what he had done and that he even tested it on the hair from his own arm. I'm moving to the East Coast in a few months but I told BK I will be mailing him all of the items I need sharpened for as long as he will be in business. If all businesses had this level of customer service, this country would be a substantially better country to live in. read more

I got my 8 chef knives sharpened by him 2 weeks ago and they are amazingly sharp, he did a really good job. I dropped them off in the morning and he told me it might take a day or two, but called me a few hours later to tell me they were done early. I will definitely be going back to him when I need them sharpened again read more

He came back with "I have a big stack of new blades come and get one" he said that rudely. Really rude. I didn't go back as I wasn't sure what he was capable of doing. This guy is a "no account liar" You woud be stupid to use him after reading this.

He told us he was available to come pick it up on Monday: We have a 1979 Craftsman Snow Blower that was given to us brand new in the box. We used it last year for the first time, and it worked fine. This year, we went to start it up, and it wouldn't start. Mark told us he would take a look at it, and give us a call the next day with an update. He did just that, and brought it back to us the very next day. He fixed everything that needed fixing, put fresh oil in it, and got it all ready for winter. He's a super friendly guy, and did really good work. We will definitely be calling him again. Thanks Mark!

I brought an entire set of knives and several pairs of 'cheap' scissors to BKs Sharpening service, expecting that after years of misuse I would be told that I would be better off simply replacing them and buying new ones. When I picked them up (less than 24 hours later) and got them home to use I was amazed! I couldn't believe that these were the same knives/scissors I had dropped off the day before! My 'cheap' scissors glide through Christmas wrapping paper with ease, and I will never allow my knives to become that dull again after being reminded what a properly sharpened knife blade is like! Excellent customer service, and a very satisfied customer! I will be a forever returning customer and would highly recommend BK Sharpening Service to anyone! read more

BK Sharpening does an AMAZING job! I own a dog grooming business Clips 'n Wiggles in Algonquin and they have been our exclusive sharpening service since day one - we will never take our business anywhere else! Our scissors, thinning shears and clipper blades are the most important tools for a beautiful groom. Our tools are also a very expensive investment and we would never trust just anyone to sharpen them. BK is a true master at his craft - he also perfectly sharpens LEFT HANDED scissors and shears. I have been looking for a place to get an expensive Japanese chef's knife sharpened, but I have had no luck. I found BK online, and reluctantly I used the mail-in service. Brian contacted me as soon as he received the knife, and also let me know when I could expect to the knife to be returned. He then called a couple days later to make sure that I was satisfied..... which I was. The mail-in service is so convenient, and the quality of his work exceeded my hopes.
