I am so thankful that I stocked up on BLoFISH before the apocalypse and they are able to restock me using the Internet and the United States Postal Service. BLoFISH joggers, the t-shirt on the top of the pile, BLoFISH underwear, and the cardigan were my quarantine uniform. If I wanted to appropriate Eastern European culture I'd wear the jacket that matches the jogger and a darling gold necklace from Revelry down the street. If I had bedhead from one of my between-feedings naps I'd pop on a baseball hat or the slouchy toboggan. What you die in is your ghost outfit, FOREVER. I have been in Blofsh several times, but this last weekend was my first purchase! My friends are huge fans, and I knew it was only a matter of time before I would also own a piece of their merchandise. Well, I stopped in during this year's NuLu Bock Fest and as usual wanted many of the shirts. The fabric they use is so so soft! And they have some cute and fun designs. I ended up buying a simple, Blofish branded t-shirt. I won't lie, I only bought it because I loved the color so much! And it is so comfy! I love their mission and I love that a portion of every sale goes to a charity. I like that they are unisex. I don't love that the sizing (the number of lil' fishies) is marked clearly on the outside of the clothing. But that is probably because I am just insecure and prideful. :-P I am sure I will be back and they will get more of my money soon! read more

The cynic in me tends to whisper that signs of corporate decency is likely to be a marketing ploy. But despite my best efforts, I have developed a brand loyalty for this little local company. The main thrust here is 'all for all', a gender-free, judgment-free credo. Perhaps not entirely revolutionary, but certainly meaningful in a rather judgmental political climate. They also sell American manufactured clothes. Nice, of course. More critically, the clothes are all solidly attractive, casual and on trend. I freaking love my Blofish pants, almost as much as I love never driving to the mall. The kicker is that the young people working here are all super nice. I got to drop in Blofish during NuluFest and think I touched every piece of clothing. It was all so soft! My son and I both loved the sweatshirt hoodies, all colors, but I was hoping for more with a design - even a subtle one. We didn't pull the trigger on the $40 event special (regular $56). I'd be curious to talk to people who have purchased their clothing to learn how it wears through multiple washes. The store had quite a few employees working and everyone was super friendly. I am sure they'd had a long day with NuluFest but you wouldn't have known. At least 3 made sure I was doing okay and didn't have any questions. As mentioned by other Yelpers, Blofish has a strong mission and its story is told in signage and by its employees. Blofish is doing it right. They bring such a great and powerful message to their consumers and make everyone feel like they are equal. An easy 4.5 stars to give. Everything from the employees, to their message, to the store itself is just wonderful. The people who work here seem to be very passionate about their brand and want to make sure that their audience knows what Blofish is all about. With all of the crappy stuff going on in our country right now, this store feels like a breath of fresh air and a place that you can feel welcome. Their clothes are very nice. What I love most is how soft everything is! Most of their pieces are either solid or have some sort of trendy phrase on it, giving it a modern look. I wish they had more to choose from than just t-shirts and sweatshirts. Also, a majority of the clothing is made from a very thin material, which is the main thing pulling me away from purchasing right now. But they do have a few other pieces that really intrigue me. With their sizing, we were told by an employee that they do not use typical sizes, like small, medium and large. Instead, they use fish (i.e, one fish is a small, two is a medium and so on.) I totally understand that they do this to also bring body positivity to their brand, which I love that they do. But I have to agree with some fellow Yelpers that I do not really like how the fish sizing is on the outside of the clothing. I mean, I guess you wouldn't know what it meant unless you know Blofish, but still. It also creates an extra design on their clothes that may be unwanted. Blofish really is an awesome brand, though. There's a lot to like about Blofish: all-gender clothing, locally owned and largely locally made, use of sustainable materials, and, of course, 10% of sales go to charity. All that said, their clothes aren't for every style. There's definitely a youthful vibe to many of their garments, though I would never hesitate to buy their clothes for someone of any age (my boyfriend has given gifts from Blofish both to his septuagenarian father and his teenage niblings). A lot of their pieces lean comfy/sporty in style--the ultimate weekend wear. For this reason, I've had trouble incorporating them into my regular wardrobe because of where I am in my career. But not every item I own needs to be for the office. The tees, hoodies, and sweats make excellent lounge wear. I am hanging out at home wearing Blofish joggers right now and let me tell you, they are as soft as all the reviews say. From the date of this review you may notice I'm writing this during uncertain times; the coronavirus pandemic is throwing all of our lives into chaos. So this week I placed a Blofish order, because if I'm going to be stuck at home I may as well look fresh and feel comfortable. Conveniently located across the AC Marriott where I was staying. Passed by a few times and decided I NEEDED to check it out because when I peeped in, there was a shirt that said "puppies over everything" and that shirt totally describes me. This is a local shop that also gives back to the community. Every month, 10% of their sales goes to a different charity. Their clothes are unisex and the clothes are mostly T-shirts or tanks. They pride themselves in having a soft material that makes wearing it very comfortable. The sizes are counted based on number of blowfish and they are printed directly on the apparel (1 blowfish = small and so on). After browsing through all their stuff, I decided to purchase the "puppies over everything" tank. I wanted it in blue but unfortunately they didn't have my size (I guess it's a popular choice!). So I decided to get purple. It was slightly big on me, even for 1 blowfish, but decided I can still make it work. If you sign up for their newsletters, you also get 10% off your first purchase. The tank was $25 before any discounts and honestly it wasn't too bad of a price point especially since (1) you're supporting a local shop and (2) part of the sales go to charity. BLōFISH is changing the world by creating clothing pieces that any person can wear while delivering a powerful message that is about accepting everyone regardless of disability, gender, race, or any other title that can be prejudiced against. Blōfish is based out of Louisville, Kentucky in the NULU area which may seem as a bit surprising for those living outside of Louisville. But as Hailey stated in a recent blog video where they profiled real customers, " We're a really progressive city, in a not so progressive part of the country". And I think Blōfish is a perfect representation of that statement in our beautiful city of Louisville. It was a friend's Instagram post that made me aware of Blōfish. Christopher had a shirt that read " Borremos el Miedo y El Odio" which is a rough translation of the English version " Unlearn Fear and Hate". I immediately thought this was the perfect message to spread. Fear and hate stem from the ignorance we've learned from our surroundings and because we have accepted those beliefs from others. It doesn't have to be like that. And I feel that for many people all it takes it spreading the word that they can choose to live life with an open mind for that to happen. Blōfish's clothing pieces are gender neutral. They do away with clothing titles that show it is sized for "men" or "women" and they also do away with the traditional sizing chart. You'll find items where styles have been curated to fit everyone's wardrobe. The sizing chart is replaced by small blowfish images at the bottom of the shirts. Which was a very smart thing to do. Even without a large message on the clothing pieces itself, the company is still making itself aware through you while giving you an amazing product that you believe in. I was at LAX airport during spring and I was wearing one of my favorite clothing pieces for that weather (thin, long sleeve navy blue hooded shirt with no message but it was so soft and such a great style) and someone saw the blowfishes on my shirt and told someone "oh look! He has a Blōfish shirt on ". We ended up talking because of it and though I forget what part of the country they lived in (not in Louisville), it's definitely an awesome sign that this company and this message is spreading. And this company deserves that. Behind it all is Logan. A man who is passionate about his company message and who happens to be one of the nicest people I've met. His company Blōfish gives 10% of each sale to a charity and so you're also a part of something bigger when you make a purchase. Sometimes the clothing items have a theme that coincide with the charity of that month or there are other creative items that they come up with. I bought a "Freedom for All" shirt that I wore to multiple locations on 4th of July and people complimented the shirt for the style and message. Blōfish is always coming up with new items and so my wardrobe keeps increasing with things I love from them. Just about every time I go into the store I see something new that I love that I'll add to my mental list of things I want to buy or I'll buy it then if it's in that month's budget. I know it sounds weird, but the employees will explain it all to you. I do wish they would put prices on things, to make browsing easier. Incredible local business on Market that a friend told me about. So, finally able to stop in and check them out. A variety of T-shirt's, hats, sweatshirts and tanks. Their sizing is different, which is awesome, follows their name, it's based on the number of fishes. So, 1 to 5 fishes (smallest to largest in size). The fabric they use to make the shirts- is perfectly soft and no shrinking. Which is huge. Seriously, the fabric is so very very soft. Love my new shirt. Wearing it now. This store is gender neutral. Alright, I have to update this review. My first visit came when it was still a new business. Since then I have been back multiple times and have come to love this place. I have a much better understanding of their mission behind the gender neutral clothing. I still love the uniqueness of the store; the staff is still super friendly and welcoming to anyone that walks through the doors. I now own multiple pieces of clothing from this store, including one of the most comfortable sweatshirts that I own and a pair of joggers/lounge pants that I wear all the time. They now have an explanation of their sizes for those unfamiliar with their gender neutral clothing fish sizing, prices are more clearly marked, and while I am still not a huge fan of people knowing my size (as it is printed on the outside of the clothes with fishes), I think the fish are a fun and if people aren't familiar with Blofish a-they won't know what they are and b- I can use them as a way to introduce others to Blofish.
