Found BL clinic on yelp and saw that a few users had gotten some help with similar issues to mine. Was able to get an appointment same day, which was really big considering the amount of pain I was in the first session lasted about 90 minutes. I did not see much relief until about a week after the treatment. I went a second time two weeks later after the second appointment my issue has gotten about 90% better if you are struggling with any sciatic nerve pain there's a good chance the electro acupuncture and cupping will help. Check in on Yelp for a discount on the first session. I paid $100 and second visit $120 it's not cheap but if you find relief from your pain it's worth it in my opinion. read more

I've been to many acupuncture places but none was as pleasant and clean as BL Acupuncture. The place felt more like a massage spa than an acupuncture clinic. The environment was relaxing and Bo was very friendly and professional. I went in to treat a pinched nerve on my shoulder. I asked for the full pain management treatment which included massage, acupuncture and cupping. By the end of the one and a half hour session, the pain lessened greatly. I believe acupuncture is a more effective method to treat pain and injury than pain killers. Anyway, I highly recommend BL Acupuncture. read more

I called to see if they had any appointments available on the same day. They squeezed me in before they closed. Bo Li was so sweet! I never used acupuncture before but I have experienced a few cupping massages. I've been going to the Chiropractor for 6 years now and a spinal adjustment usually helps me maintain good posture, a good attitude, and helps my blood continue to circulate evenly. My workouts are hard most days. I practice fast paced yoga with weights where you stand in one pose for a while and hold heavy weights above your shoulders. I also hike up elevated trails around the Bay Area that can be very strenuous. For some reason for the past few months, my chiropractor visits weren't enough. My neck and shoulders just weren't staying relaxed after an adjustment and I could feel the muscles on my neck tense up even after I tried to stretch. It could be my fault for intensifying my workouts recently. Bo helped me stretch my whole body using Tuina therapy. He massaged me in the areas that were really tense. Then, he used acupuncture to fix my neck and shoulders. He was very mindful and asked if I was doing okay when he started the acupuncture process. This was electro-acupuncture by the way. He checked to make sure the level of the machine wasn't hurting. The electric machine warms the needles to ease the tension it is breaking down. The needles didn't hurt at all. After this, he used the cupping method to relax the tense areas on my back. He used glass cups and lit them on fire. He still kept checking to make sure I was okay. He'd leave the room for a few minutes so I could relax and then he'd come back to check in. I already knew the cups would leave a mark. They usually fade away after a week. I honestly believe eastern medicine is very underestimated and doesn't receive enough recognition. Everything positive I read about using acupuncture is valid. I felt so relaxed when I stood up. It felt like some weight was gone. I was very much at peace with myself. I felt balanced and my mood was uplifted. This was exactly what I needed. I'm writing this review the day after and I'm still feeling very good. I was able to workout this morning and stay in a few different poses without feeling tense. My pain before this appointment didn't keep me up at night. Bo confirmed it was just muscle soreness around my back, neck, shoulders, and thighs. I'm in my thirties and have been practicing yoga for 7 years. I didn't get to play any sports in high school because of personal family reasons so now I'm just trying to understand what my body needs to continue to practice and feel balanced. These are normal things people need to do to maintain their muscles when they are very athletic. I will be using acupuncture to help my body recover along with my chiropractic adjustments. I do recommend taking a shower before your appointment and don't wear any body lotion or oil. You can't shower for 8 hours after your appointment and I wouldn't take my chances to see how your lotion or oil will react to the electricity and fire. read more

I started to tell him exactly where on my right side the sciatic pain extended and he ended up pointing out where I felt it - bingo that's a sign of a great doctor. I would give it three stars solely for its novelty, as I have never gotten acupuncture done before. It appeared that they lacked a dedicated front desk, resulting in the practitioner spending over 20 minutes searching for my insurance details before deciding to proceed. It would have been preferable to make that decision sooner, especially since my husband and I arrived on time. I came in with severe neck and shoulder pain, but unfortunately, the experience did not provide any relief. I'm unsure of what other reviewers meant when they mentioned feeling lighter after their sessions. I hope it's not due to something the practitioner said, as I felt it was weird when they asked, "feeling light and better?", instead of just asking how I felt! He suggested that I go to his clinic again to have another massage and pay the deposit again, and then the insurance company would give him the refund. Later, I communicated with the insurance company and found out that this clinic was out of network. The staff took advantage of my unfamiliarity with insurance company policies and easy trust in others to induce me to consume and cheat me into paying. I hope everyone be morecareful.
