The space is great for hosting events with a beautiful view of the lake. Food and cocktails are delicious. They have the best churros in town. Friendly and great service.

My first time trying, my only issues was AC wasn't on And I was hot. It's hard to enjoy your food if You're sweating . Food was really good The enchiladas. You can't go wrong with either one depending and your taste if want something sweet or you want something and spicy Service was decent Definitely try it again. Must try something else.

We came here for my birthday after loving the BBQ restaurant next door. But I'm sad to report that the food was absolutely HORRIBLE. Firstly, it was a Sunday night so it was not super busy. The bartender was our waitress and seemed to not give a darn about us even though it was not busy. The tortilla chips were stale, and disgusting. That's honestly one of my favorite parts of going to a Mexican restaurant and it ruined it. The sangria was the best part... but come on, the $5 sangria is the best part? Do better. I got some enchiladas and specifically requested the sour cream and green sauce be on the side... what do you know, it came out with all the sauces on it. I realllllly hate sour cream. My husband got some fajitas, which i wound up sharing with him as my meal was gross. The fajitas were okay and could be shared it was a large portion. The rice was okay. Overall I am just so disappointed because we had been excited to come here - and with it being my birthday dinner it felt like they put no effort in. We did not try dessert, I didn't want to sink anymore money into this meal.

Thanks to Yelp Events!! We came here and found out that this is a hip upscale bar/restaurant. I met Dom he greeted us firstly (Bartender). Immediately after sitting down in one of the big booths we were greeted with chips & salsa complimentary. Taylor was also another bartender that was very attentive. I happened to asked my friend, What was Ranch Water is? Clayton the manager happened to be listening and gave us a thorough breakdown of the drink. Our server Sam was A-1 or exemplary in his role as a Server. I mean everyone was awesome and all showed a willingness to assist us. Erin was also a server and she answered a lot of my questions. Food: shrimp lightly shredded cheese quesadillas with guacamole, pickled onions, and sour cream, chicken fajitas with all the fixings. 10/10 Sam let us know that Black Agave has been opened since November of 2023. I'm hoping that this area does well. I'll definitely be checking out the other restaurants that are coming soon.

Black Agave has become one of my go-to places for Mexican cuisine because it's location, quality, service, and ability to get a table. This is my updated review. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Black Agave is part of Mercer Boardwalk. I really like this area because it's very accessible to my house, but also because I can sit out on their patio. The outdoor patio overlooks a small lake. On Sunday mornings the weather can be spectacular. If you're looking for patio dining in the Irving-Farmers Branch area, this is a great spot. 1 Star. Service - The staff is very friendly, but what I liked the most was the use of technology. The staff takes your order on a small device. Once we finished our meal, we looked for our server to check out. We couldn't find him, but the friendly bartender was able to pull up my check on their device and I could pay my bill. Again - very cool. 1 Star. Food - I love the brisket enchiladas, and you can read about this is my previous review. For this, I'd like to focus on the chips & salsa and Queso Blanco. These appetizers are table stakes for Mexican restaurants, and Black Agave passes without issues. The chips are served warmly with a salsa roja and salsa verde. The salsa verde hit you quickly, and the salsa roja has a slow burn with a hint of smoked pepper. The Queso Blanco and warm and creamy, and the tostadas (think over sized chips) are the perfect vessel to deliver the queso into my belly. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. Black Agave has settled into my monthly rotation. The patio is an entirely different experience and should be experienced on a cool morning or evening. I will be back. 1 Star.

Food was really good. Their happy hour is long. Cute, quiet spot in Farmers Branch I haven't been to. Queso, elote, fajitas, enchiladas, and margaritas were all really yum

Loved Black Agave! I've been meaning to come here and finally got around to coming. It was well worth it! Great place to unwind and enjoy some great Mexican food and drinks! The dog-friendly patio is very spacious and has a great waterfont view. The happy hour is great - the house margaritas are good. I ordered the quesabirria tacos and they were delicious, as was the salsa and chips. And the service was excellent. I'll definitely be back!!

This place is a vibe! The food is great and they have great lunch specials and a great happy hour! Y'all, just be aware that if you get the nachos, this baby is massive. Every single plate I tried was delicious and had great serving sizes. The service was also great and I loved the outdoor patio seating. Such a great place for a meal with friends!

There is a new restaurant complex in town, and the same owner owns 3 of the current offerings; including here (Black Agave), Dough Bros (pizza, etc), and Barrel & Bones (BBQ). We came to Black Agave tonight (a Wed) and were seated in a nice booth. There is an (unadvertised) happy hour of $4 Margaritas and 3 appetizers (this night it was the Quest al pastor and the short rib tablitas. Our FANTASTIC server Jalea told us about them. IMHO if you are going to have happy hour specials - advertise them. (Advertise them on the menu, on the online menu, a sign when you walk in, and/or a sign on the table) - don't count on the server to tell you about them. Luckily our server let us know of the offerings. We enjoyed the HH margaritas and ordered one of each of both HH food specials. You also get a humongous bowl of freshly fried chips with 2 salsas when you sit down. The HH tablitas came with tortillas, guac, a roasted green onion, and a roasted Jalapeño. The portion was huge. The HH queso al pastor came with blue corn chips and was also a large portion, I would have preferred it a little hotter, but it was pretty good. For only ordering 2 appetizers we let stuffed. I did speak with the manager about what I perceive are marketing issues with the website (no happy hour menu listed, that the website menu on many items only includes the name of the dish - not the description of the dish, like the menu includes. (though some online menu items DO include a description, so it's just inconsistent). And I never like when I go to the website and click on the "menu" tab and it sends me to the "ORDER to go" menu, rather than just a pdf of the current menu. Look at all my menu photos to get a better idea of the offerings. We will likely be back to try other things, the fajitas going by our table sure smelled great!

Great food, cool vibe, great service. It's a little expensive but worth it. They don't really have any vegetarian meals which was kind of disappointing for me. The ceviche was great though and so were the chicken fajitas, very flavorful. Drink menu is pretty solid as well. Loved the decor for Halloween too. I'd recommend it.

First time trying it for brunch! Enjoyed their mimosaritas and margarita flights. The guava margarita was our favorite. All the food we tried was very tasty. My daughter loved the stake with the cobb salad. Service was excellent as always. The waterfront patio seating with a gentle breeze made it a great brunch experience.

Never came back to refill.. no wait staff..
    K P.

Where is the staff? We walked in and no one was there except for the entertainment, who took up the entire front row parking at the restaurant. We stood at the front door about 4 minutes before someone rushed over and showed us to a seat with menus and rushed off again. I felt bad for her, I don't think it was her fault that there was no staff. We waited quite some time again and then she came back and took our orders. She was friendly, I will say, but she disappeared again. A gentleman came by and brought stale chips and salsa, an he was very friendly. Drinks came, then food. I did not like my food at all, the birria enchiladas with white sauce. Drinks were never refilled, no one came to check on anything. Let me reiterate.... No one.... We would have gone outside but it was super windy. The band sounded good, but seeing as we were inside, it was super loud and we had to cease conversation until there was a lag in songs. I was pretty disappointed.

Okay so today was a rainy day and I was their only customer for about 45mins so I will give them grace that the staff was a little nonchalant and lackadaisical because they were not very welcoming at all but the food came quick. The "Black Agave" drink was outstanding and its presentation was nice. I will give it another try soon but I enjoyed the actual food and drink! Good music and vibes of the actual place though!

Prior to this, I normally Thanksgiving Brunch at the Gaylord Texan each year. Their brunch is $100+ per person and I wanted to give the Constellation Club a try. PRIOR TO GOING: I made reservations over the phone. No credit card needed. Dress code expectation is business casual/ Sunday's Best. I was also told they validate parking. THE LOCATION: Easily found in the Irving/ Las Colinas area in the tallest building there. You'll know you found it because of the Mustangs statues in the front. Quick hint... valet is in the rear of the building. I parked in the garage area and took my ticket with me... to get validated. The club is on the 26th floor. Security is there to make sure you go to the right elevators. THE PLACE: Coming off the elevators (26th floor), you're greeted by folks at a table. The place has very modern decor and nice views of the city. On a clear day, you can see downtown Dallas, Arlington, and downtown Fort Worth. If you really know your city, you can see the 635/75 area and City Line in the distance. Great spot for taking selfies or taking in nice views. Anyways... Someone pulls your reservation. I was asked to pay ahead of time. Four people at $60 a piece, I paid a little over $300. Apparently there was a service charge that I wasn't told about over the phone. I ask about parking validation and was told that it was for members only. After some back and forth and back and forth and even more back and forth, they made an exception and validated my parking. Keep in mind, I was told they were validating parking for Thanksgiving (over the phone). I'm big on accountability. The gratuity was technically included but you get the option to tip additional. I would have tipped additional had there not been a service charge. The way I see it, if I can be surprised about a service charge, they can be surprised that I wasn't spending additional money. To me, the service charge was their tip. THE FOOD: After finding a seat (you sit anywhere), you go to the brunch buffet. VERY DISAPPOINTING. Scrambled eggs that look like they were made with powder. Bacon, apple sausage, mashed potatoes, vegetables, salad, ham, turkey, and bland chicken wings. There was a separate room for deserts.... pecan pie, pumpkin pie, cookies, etc. Overall, the bacon, mashed potatoes, and turkey were winners. Everything else was either bland or average. STAFF: The wait staff were friendly and very attentive to our needs. OVERALL: It was a decent experience I did ONE TIME. It was also cool to find out what was in that tall building that I'd always drive by. WAS IT WORTH $60 ($300 for four people)? NO. Absolutely not. You have to keep in mind that besides the food (which was nothing to write home about), and the views of the city, there's nothing else to do. You're there to eat and leave. It's Thanksgiving and the area is a ghost town. It's not like you can take a walk and get into another activity. Coming full circle, this is why I mentioned the Gaylord Texan as a measuring bar. The Gaylord Texan validates parking if you eat the Thanksgiving brunch. You don't have to be a member. You can walk the resort and appreciate the decor... or participate in other activities. It's festive. Yes, the Gaylord is $100 per person but the food options are endless and taste amazing. I wouldn't do the Constellation Club again. I certainly didn't see the value in joining as a member. Definitely a one-time experience for me. I recommend going there for a drink (if they'll allow it) and checking out the views of DFW. If they want to keep it exclusive, let them have fun with that. It's not worth it.
