Ambiance rising point there was dj and then some karaoke! Waitress and host both friendly and helped us picking out our drinks. Shared the molcajete and was very good. Only bad side to it is comes with 3 tortillas, so the rest you have to eat alone. Good portions on drinks and food!

Food was great, the service was quick and the location was very clean. It was my first time here and I had a great experience. The menu had a vast variety of items to choose from. The squash soup was amazing, the spaghetti habanero lived up to the hype and the churros were a perfect way to end the meal. Overall I would recommend this spot and come back again!

I really wanted to like this place because you can tell the owners put a lot into making it beautiful inside, but its almost like I wish they would have put that much effort and love into what they are serving. My husband and I stopped in for lunch during the week. The service was amazing, but the food was borderline mediocre. We ordered queso and it tasted like they had just poured it from a can, microwaved it, threw some green onions on top and brought it out. The chips are served with a hot salsa that tasted more like spaghetti sauce. We both ordered the smothered grilled chicken and it was okay.

Nice place, huge inside and nowhere near being filled to capacity. Staff was nice, food came out fairly quickly. Unfortunately the flavors just weren't there. My carne asada meat was very tender, perfectly cooked. I'm not sure how it was seasoned. Not a flavor I'm used to, and I didn't like it.

We visited on Valentine's Day, everyone was so friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere is so nice, great music. Food was amazing, fresh and delicious. We also enjoyed the tres leches chocolate cake, so yum. Definitely worth the trip to Dallas.

So we decided to check out this newly opened restaurant where the old Golden Corral used to be located. Upon enering facility, we were greeted by friendly hostesses and met our party at our designated table. We were acknowledged promptly by our server who took our drink order. There were bowls of chips and warm salsa. The restaurant was completely made over, which offered a cavernous dining room, and a huge bar as wel, with large screen TVs throughout the space. The chairs were pretty to look at, but uncomfortable to sit in. There was a live DJ playing loud thumping club music, which made it hard to have a conversation without having to yell. The food we ordered was brought out promptly, and it was disappointing to say the least. I ordered the Camarines Al Mojo de Ajo, and the shrimp were not the jumbo ones I was expecting for a $20.00 dish, and my partner's Chili Relleno had what it seemed like store bought grilled chicken cubes instead of authentic Mexican seasoned shredded chicken. The Diet Coke I ordered was flat, so I changed it to an iced tea. The server was polite and welcoming, but the loud music and average food won't make me want to visit again.

At first, I was a little hesitant because the menu is fairly small, but after my meal, I can see why. Every dish we ordered was absolutely a 10/10. I had the chicken with greens and shrimp fried rice, along with the fried green tomatoes and cornbread. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. I honestly don't have a single negative thing to say about either the food or the service. This was an amazing dining experience, and I will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

I do want to start with the positives. Our waiter was fantastic. He was very attentive, explained the menu thoroughly, and provided excellent service. The food also came out incredibly fast and piping hot, which is becoming rare these days. We started with the cornbread, and it was easily a 10/10. It was worth every bit of the $12. We ordered the fried chicken, greens, shrimp fried rice, biscuits, and hot water cornbread. The fried chicken was crispy and tender, but it lacked seasoning. I'd give it a 7/10. They served it with a house hot sauce, but surprisingly it had no heat and almost no flavor. I even asked the person I was dining with if they tasted anything because it was like pouring sauce on the chicken without changing the flavor at all. The greens were just okay on their own, but once we added the vinegar they became amazing. That made me wonder why the vinegar isn't incorporated into the greens from the start. The hot water cornbread had virtually no flavor. The shrimp fried rice was cooked really well, but it had an unexpected Caribbean-style seasoning that threw me off. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't what I was expecting, and it made it hard to fully enjoy. The biscuits were probably the biggest disappointment. They were dry and hard. One thing I also noticed is that, for a family style restaurant where you're encouraged to order several dishes to share, the tables feel too small. Once all the food arrived, there wasn't much room left, and even packing up our leftovers was awkward because of the lack of space. One standout that deserves recognition was the iced tea. It had what tasted like a subtle hint of mint and was incredibly refreshing. Easy 10/10. From the cuts of chicken we received, it appears they break down and fry whole chickens, which is perfectly fine. However, at $56 for a fried chicken that lacked seasoning, I found the price hard to justify. Maybe the cooking method or oil contributes to the cost, but I expected much more flavor for that price. Overall, I'd rate my experience a 7.5/10. Would I come back? Yes. I'd be willing to give Roots another chance and try something different from the menu. But when I hear Southern food, I expect bold seasoning and comforting flavors, and that's the one area where this meal really fell short.

As you walk up, you're greeted by great R&B music playing outside, and I assumed the volume inside would match. I was pleasantly surprised--it was perfect. To me, the ideal dining vibe is good music paired with the ability to hold a normal conversation, and they nailed it. The space includes an open seating area along with a roped‑off section for the in‑person kitchen experience. Service: From the moment I walked in, the host made me feel welcome. My server was fairly new, but she was excellent--helpful, attentive, and honest. If she didn't know an answer, she went to find out instead of guessing. She checked in often, made sure we had everything we needed, and genuinely cared about how our meal was going. Outstanding service all around. Food: The food was another highlight. The pork steak was seasoned beautifully--full of flavor and cooked just right. The meatballs, however, were just okay for me. The sauce was delicious, but the meatballs themselves could've used a bit more seasoning. I do wish they offered complimentary bread or included it with dishes. They do have a Rosemary & Garlic Confit Focaccia available for an additional charge, and it's very good, but it would be nice to have a starter option included. Overall: I absolutely recommend giving this place a try. Great food, great music, talented chefs, and genuinely wonderful service. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Adult oriented review…read more... Having been an open and active swinger every minute of my adult life, I check out as many swingers "lifestyle" clubs as I possibly can. I love seeing how different clubs in different cities set themselves up. Plus, any excuse to meet new people and play with them is a good reason. My wife had some business things to handle via zoom in the hotel room so I went over to this club myself. I had just visited the one in New Orleans a few days earlier and was excited to check this one out. Of course, there is always the waivers, fees and check in stuff when new at any club. As a single female for the night, they definitely streamlined the process. Single, attractive women that swing are treated like royalty at swing clubs. This club was no different. Once was inside, having forgotten to bring anything to drink, as this club was byob, I found myself alcohol deficient. I had to barter for drinks and had fun making trades. If you get my meaning. I found this club fun, clean and had plenty of attractive, fun and play minded men and women. The staff were all pleasant and I saw nobody pushing nor violating the rules. There was a good mix of ages from mid twenties to people in their sixties. Nobody pressured me nor made me feel uncomfortable in any way. I found four like minded women and really enjoyed their company. I only stayed for about three hours but I really enjoyed it. If I lived in the Dallas area, I'd certainly be a member and spend my Saturday nights there. If swinging is your thing or you just like to watch and enjoy the vibe, this club is for you.
