This place was surprisingly good! The menu is like I wrote it myself! Anytime a place has all the things I want on the menu I'm suspicious of the quality, but they pulled it off! Real authentic home cooked food! I had the pot roast, and my coworkers had the chicken fried chicken, chicken fried steak, & steak. Everyone was very happy with their food. This restaurant has been here quite a long time and it's a survivor 1970's decor is a bit dated, however don't let that stop you. Food is always good, sometimes great. Steaks had a burnt flavor, with no salt content but the sides were a great size. They forgot my shrimp so I had to go back, but when I did they gave me extra. This place has it all. Walking in, you get a different experience than any normal chain restaurant. The servers were friendly and attentive, and the menu had such a wide range of food to choose from. Oh my goodness such a great place. The menu is stacked with plenty of options from starters to entrees. Also, during Covid it is hard finding a place open late, this one is. Typically till midnight. Service was good and no mistakes were made on the orders. The server was slow bringing stuff out but it gave my party of four time to chat. I will return is the bottom line of course. You have to really pay attention to the time frames of happy hours, count how many drinks you ordered, and the prices on the happy hour and daily specials menu vs what is on your bill. I have been to this restaurant many times in the last several months and more than once, I have had to address price discrepancies on my bill. The last visit was last night, arrived around 5:30PM. Happy hour is 3-7pm. I ordered the daily special for Friday, the rib eye for two. I was disappointed that the salad was less than fresh, more like old lettuce, purple cabbage, carrots, and a few croutons. 1 out of 10. I was disappointed that the rib eye was like they took one ribeye and cut in half, 1/2 inch thick or less. served with fries, fries were good. BUT, for the price of $40 and probably a food cost of $10, this is not a good deal. In past visits, I had to address alcoholic drinks being too watery. My first drink this visit was a house margarita on the rocks with salt and it tasted like it did not have any simple syrup. I asked for it to be sweetened up and i think they just added orange juice to it. At the end of my visit, I had to address the bill with someone behind the bar and that I was being charged $45 for the ribeye special for 2 instead of the $40 on the menu. I also had to address 3-4 margaritas that were priced at $9 instead of the daily special of $5 each. My check was adjusted subtracting $20-$25. Quality is lacking in regards to the food, drinks, service and what you are being charged. Maybe they hope people will not notice and pay the incorrect, higher charges. Someone I know likes this place so that is the only reason I go there, but otherwise, I would stay away, OR if you go, pay attention to the quality of food and drinks and menu prices vs what you are charged. read more

Found this little gem on the way to work one day. Staff was exceptional and friendly. Beer was cold and delivered quickly. I ordered the shrimp cocktail. My only complaint is that it could of been chilled a bit more. Other than that it was great! I recommend this little hole in the wall. read more

Ordered this place on Ubereats one night. We got a shrimp po boy, jalapeño poppers, and the shrimp artichoke dip. The dip was WAY to watery. And the chips that came with it were beyond basic. Not a single grain of salt on them. And they broke into tiny pieces trying to scoop out some of the dip. Watery, minimal flavor. The only saving grace was the large - but over cooked - shrimps. The jalapeño poppers were pretty good. Crunchy, gooey, but could do with more heat. The shrimp po boy was pretty good. Nice sized shrimp, good flavor, just needed cocktail sauce. Over all a pricey meal for moderate food. I won't order from them again as the price I don't think is justified. read more

Even though I wrote a pretty negative review about this place three years ago--I used to visit frequently in the 90s and 2000s--I was recently in the neighborhood, and they had a sign out about New Management, so I stopped in for some drinks and burger. Glad I did. It's just like I remembered it back in the day. The bartender, Adrian, could not have more cordial and welcoming, and the decor remains the same as I remembered it only cleaner. Didn't get around to discussing how changes in the neighborhood--everything being demolished in preparation for a DART trains stop--but will save that for another visit. There is such a wide selection on the menu and since everything is so fresh and made to order you just have to keep coming back. The service has always been top notch. They are always very attentive and checking on you regularly to make sure it's the best dining experience. Great place to watch sporting events with lots of big screens throughout the restaurant making a great atmosphere. Definitely recommend it. read more

Ok... first let me give a little history. This is an old establishment from the 70's. Remember what it was like when you saw trucks at a truck stop and that meant "come on in boys the food is good"? BFORE walking out the door... but I do that wherever I go! If not right (which has happened) I simply have them re-cook it. SO, whoever complained about the fish being over cooked with their Pasta. Tell someone and they will make it right!!! Why eat around it and complain to Yelp!???? WTF lol The cheeseburger (I opt for swiss) is juicy and too die for. Even the buns are premium. The Fries are Fresh and hot but hint... Hint.. HINT... get the swap out for the Tortilla soup! the chips and avocado and cheese on the side is a DEAL.. best chips in town! Big Patio and friendly staff came by to see my Dobie "Aqui". Offering her water and pet her. It is not advertised as a Dog Friendly Patio and I suggested they do it SOON.. I am always looking for places to go with Aqui. The owner, Rolando (who by the way started working there I think washing dishes since before DIRT), saw me and came over to say hello. I suggested to him about advertising the patio for being Dog Friendly and he said DONE!!! we will see how long that takes. The ambiance of the place really fits the name of the restaurant; it's like a backwoods hooters - turkeys, ducks, and rabbits on the wall... the whole bit. All of the waitresses wore tight v-neck shirts that really showed off their... ahem... assets. Our server was friendly enough, though, and the food came out pretty quickly. Everyone in our party seemed happy enough with their food. I had the buffalo wings, which I thought were pretty good, though a tad skimpy. My beau had the seafood platter and really enjoyed the cocktail sauce. I snuck a couple of fries and really liked them. This place deserves ZERO stars. This random man came up to my friend asking for her ID, after already being asked and served a margarita from the waitress. (Practically DRANK half of the drink) When my 23 year old friend asked him who he was, then he introduced himself as the manager, and was inspecting her out of state ID and was telling her she needs to get a Texas ID practically demanding her to get one. After going back and forth about her ID he just told her to leave. Let not forget us having to shoo the fruit flies away from the drinks. We were the only group of people there, obviously there was a reason why this place was empty on a Saturday night.
