I recently visited the 30A area on a bachelorette trip and the Bride decided Black Bear Bread was at the top of her list of places to visit. It was creamy with the right amount of vanilla flavoring. My friend ordered the fruit tart, and that was yummy. The only complaint I have is that they're not very consistent with their drinks. There are now good hotels to stay in, several great restaurants where to eat and places like this. The bread his composed of 3-4 ingredients here, is crusty, wholesome and aromatic. It is world class. The sandwiches, despite being pricey, are absolutely delicious. Even examples like the Bahn Mi may not be traditional in the type of thicker bread used, are simply amazing. The kale sandwich, the croissants and the lattes, all are made with attention and bursting with flavor. One thing to keep in mind is that this is not a cheap place. We stopped in on a recent weekday and the line was not too bad (but by the time we received our order the line was waaay out the door as they are VERY popular). We ordered the Country Sourdough Tartine and the Daily Special Tartine. The Sourdough Tartine is toasted sourdough served with butter and house made jam. Their sourdough is fantastic. The butter wasn't necessary as the bread came buttered. And the jam was tasty. The Special Tartine had eggs, salami and cheese on sourdough and it was wonderful! I couldn't help myself when I saw the cinnamon roll in a pan by the counter, so I had to get one. I was asked if I wanted it heated and the person working the counter said if we were eating there, then we definitely wanted it heated. He wasn't wrong: it was delicious! Their Holler Mountain blend coffee was perfect. They have a lot of seating outdoors in front, so you can watch the world go by, and in back. They have some seating inside. And when you order you will pick up your own drinks but they will bring your food to you. When I'm back in the area, they are definitely on my list of must stop places. read more

This is a very popular breakfast spot and I can see why. They have good coffee, a full bar, and great breakfast items, including breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and bowls. The owner was around too, and was cleaning and bussing tables which I thought was pretty cool, and he was chatting up the locals, which makes me think highly of this place as the owners are involved in their community. Prices are not out of line for Seaside. My Cappuccino was very good and prepared carefully but without delay. In full disclosure, I only ordered a Cappuccino so I can't honestly speak to the quality of the food. Tried Black Bear Bread Co this morning for the first time and ohh my goodness, it was delicious! I was so impressed I forgot to take a single photo of our food. My husband and I both ordered a sausage egg and cheese biscuit. The sausage was so fresh and tasted like they make it in house? It was incredible paired with their yummy biscuits! We also ordered a cinnamon roll and a Samoa pop tart and they were SO good. The pop tart was mind blowing good! We each got specialty coffees which were also amazing. Came to visit 30A with the family for our summer vacation. We're always on the hunt for a solid cup of coffee (or two) and breakfast. This place probably has the BEST coffee and breakfast goodies in the area. During our short duration, we've visited BBB already 4-5 times. We've tried a few other coffee places around town, but just kept coming back here. I know it's a bit pricey, but totally worth it in my opinion. Sweet staff, plus they are consistent with executing great coffee and breakfast (which made us come back for more). What we ordered: - iced americano (spot on - not bitter, nice & mellow) - almond croissant (really wanted to try their bear claw but they said they stopped making them a few months ago - this was the closest thing - still very yummy) - blueberry lemon scone (I'm a sucker for scones - this was perfection) - cheese danish (so good) - ham & cheese croissant (warmed up & you're all set) - country sourdough bread (excellent) - steel cut oatmeal (served hot w/ fresh berries, banana, pecans & brown sugar... need I say more?) I got the bacon egg biscuit sandwich and the biscuit was like nothing I've tried before. Buttery crisp on the edges and fluffy on the inside. Bacon was delicious but a bit salty for my liking. My husband ordered the bacon egg bagel sandwich and really enjoyed it as well. We got several pastries to go- the cinnamon roll, almond croissant, and the bear claw. The almond croissant was amazing and my favorite one out of the three. The cinnamon roll has salt flakes that made it even better. I ordered the tan line (iced) and it was tasty. The baked goods are on the sweet side, and large, so good for cutting up on and sharing. There are a few tables inside, it's not a large space, and several sidewalk tables so you can take your treats outside and sit down. Tucked away in a small shopping center of artistic galleries is a nice French bakery and coffee cafe that makes a quaint spot for casual breakfast. Dine indoors or out on their patio. Specialties include fresh croissants, cinnamon rolls, scones, pastries, sandwiches and more. Plus order a freshly brewed or gourmet coffee drink. Today we (4 of us) ordered the Smoked Salmon plate (deconstructed on cutting board) with an Everything bagel, a breakfast egg and bacon (or ham) croissant plus a Kouign-Amann (buttery glazed pastry) and a Cinnamon roll to share. In my opinion, the Salmon was tops, having delicately sliced and tender smoked salmon with a generous side of cream cheese, capers, pickled onions and Bibb lettuce. Building it on the fresh bagel, you add the quantity of components to your liking; I preferred it without the pickled onions myself, thus enhancing the smoky salmon flavor, but all a great combo! If not a Salmon fan, the breakfast croissants were also very good, with fresh meat and an egg prepared on your order. After eating it, I'd actually consider having the tasty croissant just by itself given the flakiness exterior and soft buttery center, yum! The Kouign-Amann was excellent if you enjoy a croissant texture, and a pastry that's not too sweet yet has plenty of buttery flavor and a slightly glazed sugary coating. The Cinnamon roll was also good, but this wasn't served warm nor topped with any extras. Note, their full bakery is behind the restaurant, so check it out. Finally, prices to me were above average for fast casual breakfast but maybe that's standard for a French pastry experience - anticipate ~$10-15 pp depending what you order. Enjoy! read more

The monte cristo was the best monte cristo I have had in my life!!!!!! It was a weekend special. The sandwich had danish glaze all on top, and home preserves, so so delicious. The chai latte was okay, I got lavender flavor but couldn't taste it at all. The pastries were also delicious! The fruit on top was super fresh, and the cream cheese danish was my favorite!
